I've got my mint 01 450 es sitting in the garage, haven't moved it since 2015 when I bought a brand new Grizzly. This is giving me the motivation to turn the old girl into a plow bike. Been looking for an excuse to use it.
I have a 2001 Honda foreman 450 with a 60 inch moose plow. It has so much power and is a great ATV. First snow is gonna be in 2 days, all I got to do is rewind my winch and I'm set! #November snow day!
Great rig! Thought I would share a hack with you all. If you pull in the reverse lever and place a zip tie on the bare cable behind the lever you will never have to mess with the lever again to put it in reverse. Just shift down past neutral. Just need to pay closer attention when downshifting because shifting into reverse while still rolling foreword= no bueno. Hope this helps. Did it to mine and don't miss messing with the levers one bit.
Hell ya! I love my 06 fourtrax 400 it moves heavy, wet snow with a 48" quadrax blade no problem, really nice having the option for auto or ESP shifting
I used to plow with a Polaris Sportsman 500. Watching your videos, the Foreman makes it look so easy, unlike the Sportsman 500. Foreman has more low end torque, and is able to get more of it's power to the wheels with the direct shaft drive to the straight axle.
+fixedgearforlife Yes the low end torque, low first gear and true geared transmission makes the difference. The Polaris uses a CVT which is hard for it to run a slow speeds.
I have a Honda 400 Foreman that I just put a Moose Plow on and I'm thrilled with it. It works great. I also have a backhoe that fits on bike that works pretty good. Honda Foremans are great little work horses. Next I think I'm going to put a cab and mirrors on it. Good video...Cheers :)
Also have 2003 Foreman 450. Manuel says it's a 432cc. Unfortunately mine came with 48" plow. Highly recommend 55" blade. No need for the 60" load. I run v-bar chains on all wheels. Even with bad tires it plows up steep gravel driveways.

Can you tell me exactly what I need to buy to have a plow that works like that? This is exactly what my husband wants, but I can't seem to figure out if the base is separate from the plow itself? He wants a moveable base like that.
Hello, it’s a 60” plow.... that’s mounted to a frame plate. So you need the plow kit. And the frame plate (belly pan). The belly pan is model specific. Moose makes the pans for lots of different ATV models.... for example mine is for 2001 to 2004 Honda Forman 450. I hope that makes sense. I need to do a video showing the plow in detail. Also of course you will need a winch or manual lever. I like the winch.
Yes new ones are super expensive. Mine was bought used. Look around for a gently used Honda. They are pretty reliable. Not perfect but pretty darn good. Bought plow new.

A 60” on a 450. Oh man. I wouldn’t put that kinda stress on the machine. I got a sportsman 1000 and I got a 60 on that. Even the thousand I was thinking maybe stay with a 55 but I didn’t.
+Deerector 60" works great. Keeps the tires out of the snow bank when plowing. 450 Foreman has serious low end grunt with geared trans. I would not equip a CVT machine with a big plow. Standing start is hard on the CVT belt.
You should probably let er warm up a bit before giving it the beans and diving strait into the snow even though you can treat a foreman like shit and itll keep going
ProjectKing polaris makes the 450 as their smallest model as does can am also polaris makes the 570 which is a single and yamaha makes the 708 single in about everything

I’m plowing on concrete
We plow on gravel. It does do some "gravel displacement", but it's not horrible to do cleanup in the spring. Great question!

Yes will need chains and ballast on rear rack. I carry 100 lbs of gravel on mine.

ProjectKing I used to go mud riding on my 450 and it never let me down, every time I got stuck i'd kick in 4WD and out it went. I loved that quad.

Quad plowing for driveway is great bit if you have a big turn around gallery to push out i find it time consuming. No less fun though
Yes the turn around is tricky. If you put into 4wd you can power slide at end of run. More fun!

I have a arctic cat 350 4x4 that machine has a higher towing rating then the 1000cc cats, 54" eagle plow works great.

My Foreman was made in USA. (0: I have a Polaris Ranger that was made in Mexico. It’s been a good machine too.
