I admit it! I was cringing, thinking here goes another Victorian ruin. But, they gave a great nod to the character of the house with the light fixtures and bentwood chairs- very nice! 💛

Well that prep sink is just stupid. In a corner where one uses it from the lounge!?!? In what world?? The island was ruined for seating when the sink went in. The over hang and seating should be on the peninsula. What a waste to not bring the cabinets to the ceiling. So much for keeping what's great in the period of the home!! This is a very popular look-two tone time will tell how long it lasts.

There is no room to actually live as demonstrated @17:08 were furniture has to be squeezed through the small gap. @18:40, the lounge, are they high? A two seater sofa, a couple of armchairs and a coffee table does not cut it at all. That is an awful kitchen full of every cliche in the book. I wouldn't let those people anywhere near my house and would just keep walking if it came up for sale.

I never like a sink in the island - except as in this case where it can't be under a window. Having the mirror opposite was a great choice. I wonder how it might have looked with a bit of wainscoting under the mirror, just between the tall pantries. Interesting choice to use the end of the room as a seating area rather that have a dining table, and I love the rattan wing back chairs that tie in so nicely with the counter stools. The door and trim elements on the island are perfect. I would love to see a similar backsplash with a square (rather than stripe) motif. I wonder if there was any debate about having the counter overhang on the peninsula versus the island. The contrasting counter on the island works beautifully. Lovely!
I feel the color scheme makes it look dowdy and dated. Also I think they just should have accepted that an island was not going to work in this kitchen. The whole layout looks awkward and boxy. I do like the cabinet colors and the backsplash very much. And the idea of using reclaimed doors to clad the island is brilliant.

The prep sink is really for party time: ice, drinks, and slicing limes, probably with her entertainment habits in mind.
I like the yellow. Before we moved, seven years ago, we used Benjamin Moore buttermilk yellow in our home. I loved it.
