Sarah, I always enjoy your suggestions. Please do a segment on marrying big box tiles (or less expensive tiles) and more expensive tiles to achieve a high-end look. I'd also love for you to show us different applications combining warm/cool tiles so we achieve a more timeless look. Thanks for the lessons, they're so very much appreciated.

Your tile game is one of your greatest super powers. I am in total awe. Would never remodel a bathroom without using one of your gorgeous designs for inspiration. Thank you for gathering all of the info in one place in this vlog. Also, first saw this on Instagram but very pleased that you put it up here too so I could access it easily when we are ready to remodel. Of course, I have ALL your books, too, but want to be able to see this again when making my selections.
Totally agree. I go back constantly to ingrain it in my head. One doesn't need to spend a huge amount on tile, but the laying out of it, in a creative way, is what I like.
Sarah, if you ever read this, I just wanna say that I am a big fan of yours from Thailand. I have been following your work for more than 10 years. The first show that makes me k ow your work was Room Service. I loved that show and been your fan ever since. You have been such an inspiration for me. I wish there are always more from you that I can keep learning about interior. Your tastes and your style is just timeless. I wish you would publish a book about your work. If it ever exist, I will be one of the first person to but it ❤️

Isn’t Saltillo pronounced “salteeyo”, not “saltillow”? At least that’s the Spanish pronunciation! Hopefully Mike the owner isn’t cringing every time you say it.

Boots rock, BTW! Thanks so much for this series and particularly this segment. I am redoing my main floor…now we are empty nesters after 30 years. I will be doing some tile work in the livingroom and the front hall. It is fun to have a retrospective of your projects. You are the best, best, best!

I have been a fan of yours since your series “Room Service” (such a great title, by the way). Your advice about tiles and your use of them over the number of your series is epic. Innovative ways to mix it up and provide inventive ways to use various tiles. This is something we lay people need to be aware of ... . Thank you also for making the effort to support the people with whom you have collaborated in the past. So kind! We forget during these times the people who are suffering as a result of covid. Sarah I am a retired Designer with a background in both Architecture and Design. I am located in the suburbs of Detroit and near the Michigan Design Center and trust me we have nothing like this store. Virginia Tile just built their own building and it is a show stopper but you can not compare it to this shop. I know exactly why you love this store. I could spend months in it lol lol Thank you for sharing it...

In Spanish two lls in a word makes a "ya" sound, think tortilla. Tor tee ya, not Tor Tilla. Sal tee yo tiles. Named after a place in Mexico famous for their tile industry. Love you Sarah! Keep posting the vendors you use, so much fun!!

Drooling over tile and I found that I have DEFINITE tile pattern opinions. Didn't know: Herringbone pattern is NOT for me (surprised because I love Herring 🤣). Hexagon is Hex a GONE too.

Thank you for this wonderful video. Gave me ideas... I’m trying to find tile ideas for my fireplace - any suggestions? 😅. I’m thinking of ceramic (because of the heat factor) and I definitely want to jazz it up! I will be painting the mantle white (instead of dark wood colour) and I want to get rid of my boring builder’s tile that I’ve had for years.
As for the boots, I like them! But more importantly, it’s how YOU like them and feel in them. Screw the negative Nellies 😉. You do you and rock it!!

What always strikes me, I referred to the inexpensive, made in Mexico, could even find a doggie paw print on the not-yet-dry tile, here + there -- "saltillo tile", the tile i installed in my kitchen, at 50 cents/sq ft?
It's a corporate feat of genius this business managed to register their biz as "Saltillo Tiles" (saltillo tiles, the all-lower-case logo symbolism didn't escape me).

I’m doing a bedroom reno in our older home and have decided to use a tile as a border between my old wood floor and my new Pax wardrobe wall because I couldn’t find a large wood plank that I liked.It’s different and I really like it!!
