A trainer shouldn't be the one who trains the dog. It's the owner who is trained. I was training my cocker spaniel for 4 months(ideal amount of time to be trained by a pro) and the trainer only instructed me what to do while showing me how to do the commands with the help of her two dogs. Her dogs were a pkus to our training since mybdog was learning to not be distracted by her surroundings and only focus on me.
There're old style miliatr dog trainers that takes the dog away to train and then give them back to the owners. That DOES NOT WORK. My neighbour tried this and then a month later complained that the dog started the bad behavior again and that she only responded to the trainer's commands and not hers.
Dogs are not robots you can program to your taste. They are scensient beings with feelings and personalities. If the owners don't learn how to educate and train their dogs the right way, the problems will never go away. Having a got requires as much responsability as having a child. They have their needs you need to provide, and unlike kids they do not speak your language so you need to learn theirs.

Lee actually really loves that dog he just needed to be taught how to manage him. I’m really glad he took Victoria’s help on board and is working to be the pack leader. It would be sad for Lee to have to lose his dog, Ben is clearly very much his.

We’ve had two German Shepards. Both were loving with everyone. Can’t imagine having these problems. We have a Doberman puppy now and I’m expecting another loving dog when he’s grown. Everyone in the household needs to be on board with training and affection.

I really love how Victoria reminds me of my grandfather. He was in the navy and he loved animals. Mom grew up with several dogs and cat as pets. Grandfather never had to even put a leash on the dogs while walking.

He's doing it out of habit, you have to rehabilitate the dog, and train the owner. My pets are in line always, coz i used to be a huge ceaser milan fan, and the best way you can train them is do it since they are about 4 months old, thats when they start understanding training....training an already grown up dog is tough job, but if you have always been the boss to the dog in the house since he is a youngling, the dog never has such problems.
I dont know what he did, or at what point something went wrong that the dog assumed dominance or guardianship over the guy....he must be doing something really wrong before. Glad he is doing better

Im much more of a cat person myself but I love long walks. Setters are a perfect breed for me. In my opinion, a lot of problematic dog/owner relationships arise from people not looking into the breeds characteristics before adopting.
Which is a shame because there are innumerable breeds with different instincts, it’s impossible not to make a perfect match.
Oh I really loved this one. Les was rather a limp lettuce and Ben scarily unpredictable. I know Victoria always has to train the family and this was a large family, but I love how she knew and acknowledged how Les felt with his demotion, her "Trust me" was heartfelt. Same with telling the daughter how much work she'd done and that she was proud of her. That dog ruled and was capable of severe injury if it chose. I hope the family continued with the work and it all worked out really well in the end for all of them ❤
First time I see a sign saying “aware of the dog” or “angry dog” that is actually true. In my country, the house that have it, 99.999% of the times have a calm and loving dog
I adopted a dog I found freezing in the road. Obviously her prior life was terrible - they dumped her in 20 degree weather.
She had major trust and behavioral issues and flew out the door constantly. I used Victoria's instructions and baby girl is the love of my life.
What a blessing! Their loss, she is my little angel! ♥

My parents have a golden retriever and she does jump or bark on occasion, because they're very friendly dogs. So what I do with her and any other dog that does something similar is to turn around and give her my back. The majority of the time it works well. Do not ever pet a barking dog.
I lost it when they said he was shy as a puppy. Like these crazies have never heard of fear based aggression? This is why working breeds should be required to have alot of training after adopting/buying.
