@Max William Lauf You're right. He is Seattle's favorite citizen. I have been a fan of his since 1988. My favorite song was Beepers. However, most people only know him for his hit song " Baby Got Back".

Its been a while but my first car was a 77 Buick Lesabre. It was light green with green leather seats. I got it cheap because it was hit on all 4 corners. You could barely tell because it was such a tank. I loved the hell out of that car believe it or not.

1diggitech the 430 is the exact same as the 455 . Minus bore or stroke. What you probably ran against was a 455 with low compression. 71-76 blue engines. Get up against a high compression red painted 70 stage 1 455, no chance for that 430.
I have two Buick 455, one bored out to 464, 9.5:1 CR, sitting in my 69 Rivi, and an other stock block waiting for work. both out of 73-74 cars, but the stock low compression engine is a dog compared.

Bought my first car when I was @17, we had to bring it home on the hook because we had to fix it to get it to run. Had a serious gas leak. The radiator hoses belts all kinds of crap went wrong with it. One day got locked out one side because the door seal got frozen to the car and through my efforts I tore the handle off the door.
Loved that car! Everyone had to pray when I left that I would get home.
And if you never had to sweet talk your car hoping that she would get you to where you're going or home or you've never rocked in your car hoping it would help you get up a hill, you ain't had a hoopty.
She met her demise when the rear axle broke. I miss her so much
