- The Superyacht LOON 221 bore the name ICON in the past and was the first yacht from the shipyard ICON Yachts, based in Haarlingen, Netherlands.
Four years after the shipyard was founded, ICON was the first of three 62 meter projects to be handed over to the first customer.
This was followed, one year apart, by the equally long BATON ROUGE (a regular guest in the winter season in the Caribbean) and in 2012 by today's NORA (formerly MAIDELLE).
Over the past ten years, ICON Yachts has focused on spectacular rebuilds/refits.
LOON 221 is an addition to a slightly smaller yacht that also bears the name LOON and is now referred to as LOON 180 for the sake of distinction.
Ex ICON was last offered for sale in autumn 2022 (ask price EUR 45.0 mill), after the hull was lengthened to the current 67.5 meters as part of a refit in 2014.
In April 2023 it was rumored that the yacht had found a new owner and that he had renamed the ship the already well-known name LOON.
ICON is the first superyacht to be marketed to a large public with the help of a very broad online presence through social media.
We are pleased to see the yacht and her crew calling the Leeward Islands.
The yacht is available for charter in the Caribbean with a base rate starting at US$ 540,000 per week (2023/24 winter season).

Great video thank you for filming us Arriving in SXM. Did you see our full-length video on what it takes to go through this bridge? 🛥🥂
Thank you for paying attention to this video. Glad to learn that you like it. Ofc, I also looked at your bridge crossing from your perspective. Like your other videos, extremely impressive. 👍
@@superyachtsofthecaribbean Thank you next time we're in SXM please come by and say hi 👋
It was an incredible video of the passage, Blair did amazing on the drones!
Wow that captain has some nuggs sailing through such a narrow passage great video by the way 😎🤙
Strong nerves, profound knowledge and an excellent ability to judge could be helpful when going through the eye of the needle. 💪
Thanks for the compliment. Please stay tuned for more superyacht content in future!
What a beauty - love their you tube channel - if I was to charter , it would be on this yacht with this crew. Cool video watching her from shore.
Captain paul can maneuver the heck out of that 221
Yes, very much so. First the approach to St. Barth's, then the passage of the bridge in St. Maarten and today the reverse docking in Antigua. Like a champ.
Have been watching Captain Paul Nina and the whole crew for a while now they are a well oiled machine and have fun doing it I was a yacht captain in the 80’s so I appreciate what it takes
Yes Jim, for the folks on shore often difficult to imagine that the life on board of a ship is a complete different cup of tea. You, your crew mates and the elements.
Great boat and a great crew!
Yeah, when you work and live with your colleagues in a confined space for over weeks and months together, and also at the same time keeping demanding guests 24/7 happy, then team spirit is of essence.
AWESOME video . Cool to see Captain Paul & Loon crew in action . Mark (Toronto) 😎👍
Hey Mark, it has been a while seeing you commenting on this channel. Thanks for checking in. 🙂
Fuck yeah this is cool !
lol they were barely through when the bridge started closing
...good observation 🤓 And this is for a good reason: the bridge is part of one of the two main roads connecting a bigger resort area and the intl. airport with the capital on the Dutch side. The bridge does open several times a day with all kind of boats and yachts passing through. In order to keep the daily gridlock to a minimum (which often seems impossible) the bridge is going down again as soon as the last boat got through.
The power of Loon. 4.5K views in six days. 😂
Like a tidal wave ...🌊
Love it!! 🎉
@@CaptPaulClarke 🙏 Would be nice meeting u guys during your next call to the island. I have forwarded u my contacts to the email interface on the yacht's website. Cheers Thomas
