These are fantastic, affordable and really reliable. I used to rip on BRP all day until I saw the internals of these engines and realized that they are built like tanks. The only reason people ever blow these up is because they let them sit all winter after a big lake/ocean ride and don't fog them, which leaves moisture in the intake/intercooler. Repeat this over a few winters and the internals rust. So with basic care these things honestly go forever!

The GTI is a good reliable ski. I have a 14 RXP 260. 240 hours and no issues to report. I encourage you to try any of the supercharged models with Sport mode on. Looking forward to your comparison review!
I have a 2018 155 limited and a 2015 260 rxp, I decided on the 155 after spending a summer with a 130, I liked it but it didn't keep up with the 260 as happily as the 155 does. Appreciate you making this video and I have to say they are some of the best machines out there! We ride in the Thousand Islands and all of the sight seeing that the ski's enable is truly incredible! Also cheap to run and relatively reasonable to own.
I had 2 of them baby blues ones like yours. Then they got repoed because I lost my job. Now I'm back on top and I'm getting 1 next month for my birthday👍😁👍
Great video. Do have a lot of trouble with it sucking up stuff and getting clogged up? I'm very interested in buying one but keeping getting discouraged by people who say they easily get clogged up with seaweed or other stuff.
Your battery cover has 2 plastic rivets on bottom are removed by pulling a pin the runs down the center of the rivet towards you. once the pin is pulled out she comes.
It’d like to see a reliability update on the sea doo. I’m looking at jet ski’s now and am basically deciding between a sea doo or a Yamaha wave runner. I’ve heard about reliability issues on sea doo’s so I’m leaning towards a Yamaha but really don’t want to spend more money on a Yamaha if I don’t have to
Nice review.. but the gtr 230 is the best bang for the buck.. You would love the extra 75hp.. in the same size machine.. Mine has been 100% with 14months ownership.. its a super fast machine and more fun to ride than the rxp/rxt.. You completely left the GTR out of your comparison which is silly.. my GTR230 was $10,500 with seadoo rebate last 4th of july.. and it tops out at 69mph..
Just bought a 2013 with 25 hours and saved a crap ton of money. Doesn’t look like there’s been too many changes over the past few years. I agree with you about the plastic battery divider panel. Very poorly engineered IMO.
i have the 155, I hit 94km regulary, on a calm day. The clips are easy to get out, on the front compartment divider, just use a flat head screw driver and pry under the head of the clip
Speaking for Missouri residents.... watercraft, atv’s as well as farm equipment etc ... we can keep our fuel receipts & get back our “over the road tax” paid at the pump via state taxes. It adds up quick .... curious if Canada/ Provinces do the same
Always $1-$3 more for gas on the water .... cheaper to trailer it to refuel. Missouri was .33¢ a gallon over the road tax before I sold my boat. Fill out forms & send receipts with state tax filing & get back a nice check

Yeah the GTI 130 is the perfect ski if you dont care about performance and want a pretty reliable ski. If you want some speed but dont want to break the bank get the GTR 215 used or a GTR 230....same hull and when in eco mode I get about the same range as my friends GTI 130.
I rented jet ski few years back. The guy said take the Yamaha instead seadoo. So I did. It was awesome ride. Upon returning the jet ski...I told him my interest in purchasing a jet ski in the future. The jet ski rental guy quickly told me get a Yamaha and stay away from seadoo junk. The renter had both makes so I figured he knows what he was talking about. Now this was around 7-8 years ago. And no I never bought a jet ski :(. Anyone has recommendations between the two? I think the new seadoo improved a lot.
I bought a used 155 wake recently and encountered the same battery divider issue. Looked on youtube to find out how to REMOVE PLASTIC RIVET RETAINING CLIPS. Actually quite easy. Nevertheless I agree with you that a more user friendly system would be ideal.

Thinking about getting the spark and putting adjustable handlebars. I want the satisfaction of learning how to do trick rather than getting the trixx and having it do it for me. I’m a smaller person and I am looking more for something to jump

Got a '19 wake pro 230. st3 hull is epic, and the supercharged motor i blast up to 100+km/hr with the wife and i both on it, in touring. It is a toy, not a practical vehicle... dont go base you will just wanna upgrade.
I'm not familiar with jet skis. Do they not come with lights and a horn? Are they not legal to use after dark? What do guys who want a radio do? How many hours do you get on a tank of fuel if you are cruising at 40 kph? Except for cruising range, these questions don't matter for this model, but I'm curious.

When you said if you wanna be more agrresive you need to get a gtx or a 155 gig not RXP those are the racing and fastest models but besides that great video keep it up

Amedeo Claudia It sure does! I’ve only ever operated older jet ski’s that friend’s of mine had, so I wasn’t sure if new models were 2-stroke still. Makes sense they don’t really make that clear in advertising since it has been 10 years since the changeover. Thanks again!

There is "boat gas" available in Canada. Doesn't make a huge difference. You buy premium(92) at regular(87) cost.

Good review. They only thing you neglected to mention was the kill strap if you fall off the machine. Aside from that it was a very detailed review.

I have both 2012 Seadoo gti 130 and run very well, but my Yamaha VXR high input 1.8 is another story. So far yamaha is much better machine.

I have the exact same one and I dont regret buying it!!
Buy the 130 over the 155. Riva can reflash the ECU for about $200 or so. Swap out the impeller and you will see about 60mph

hey I wanted to let you know that the mirrors are only there to make it legal to tow, thats why they arent adjustable

most of the features described here (eco mode, IBR etc) are on pretty much every single SeaDoo since 2009 except the low end units like base sparks.
What can people say about this machine's reliability? Trying to decide between one of these and a Yamaha..
We have a 2016+2018 Sea doo 130 GTI SE 1503 rotax engine. They are reliable, fun and very fuel efficient. Paid @ 12000 each

Reflash the ECU to 155hp specs (130 to 155 is just ECU settings) then get upgraded prop & you will hit near 64mph.

obcRadio seadoos are all 2-stroke up to 2008, everything after is 4-stroke. Jet skis are the most fun ever totally worth it. Hope this helped a little

most lakes i know have local cops out once in a while enforcing speed limits on the water. you have to go to the coast to open up any motor.
I just got my license and I drove my Gti se 130 for the first time and I got it up to 55 mph in touring mode
Do you weigh 300+ lbs? rider weight plays a big factor in that!
