I love how people call This Plane of flying pig, once they actually go into combat they're all going to realize how deadly wrong that they were.
Well, I hope you are right, but in the meantime the DCS and sim community has dubbed F-35 the "Fat Amy" due to it's apparent disability to do any kind of close in fighting work.
@@k.o.hakala2112 I just believe that the data they got was dubious... you talking about a simulation or a video game correct. Something tells me that the United States government wouldn't have dumped all this time of money and do a complete failure and something that was incompetent. Time will tell.

There is a story on the f-16 forum about how the 4th gen pilots thought the F-35 was a pig and so fought dogfights on a full load - tanks, missiles, etc. and were slaughtered outright - gunned. Soon they were down to the center tank but still doing everything not to die. Then they removed everything, airshow mode and this made the fights interesting. But then the 4th gens ran out of fuel and went back while the F-35s went on to do a bombing mission before returning. When the 4th gen pilots realized that the F-35 had been fighting them with a full combat load the whole time, it seems the silence was golden.
And yes, the full set of airshow manuevers is done on full internal fuel.

Red Flag 2019, a F-35 pilot with 8 hours recorded on the type shot down 4 aircraft. 1 more and he would've been an ace in a day. He also saved an F-16 pilot with over 3,000 hours experience.
My uncle was a fighter pilot in Poland, now he is retired he has talk about flying fighter jet, this is really, really heavy work.
This plane is a flying brain. Saw a demonstration at an airshow and all I could think of was how insecure it made our potential enemies. Doesnt have the dogfight capabilities of our f22 raptor but it can operate over a hundred planes at once a dozen miles away with how smart it is.
As far as dogfighting compared to the F22, the F35 is still a capable dogfighter vs. a lot of other 4th fighters. And that’s crazy to think about. Lol
I was at the Miami Air show a couple of times and saw the F-35 & F-22 demo flights. They are quite impressive to see in person. Remember, the F-22 was developed in the 80's. Considering the age of the jet, it still is a dominant platform. Unfortunately, the Air Force didn't follow through with the plans to buy many more.

F-35b is a little better then f-35a and f35b got vtol tech comes with it aswel. Also f22 raptors are the real showstoppers 🤪😜 when it comes to manoeuvrability and agility but f35s are better in different other areas.

Keep in mind that this is the B variant doing this (the least maneuverable variant). Just imagine how an A variant would do in combat
i mean.. it'd just launch missiles form 180 miles out and the enemy would stop existing before they knew the f35 was there. or. the f15 wingman 80 miles back would use the f35's target lock to guide in the missile...

I still can't understand how this magnificent fighter jet, it is still missing in SC. Since the incident yesterday, it happened in daylight.
Luckily, the pilot is safe.
It's understandable that some may think the F-35 stinks. Yes, its development was troubled. However, this jet was developed differently. It was intended to be built, flown, and developed at the same time. This shortened procurement times. As time has gone by, the F-35 has become a deadly assassin. The ability of an F-35 to relay information to our forces is incredible. The sensors on the jet are classified for a reason. We've only seen a small potential of this jet. Rest assured, the best is yet to come.
The problem was they were built as multi-purpose. Any kind of alterations, they have to restart internally from the beginning. Not to mention the parts were sourced from many different countries that doesn't exactly compatible with each other.
Should hopefully get new F-22's out of the F-35 production line if that manages to squeak through.

It is an amazing piece of technology, it's price tag gets it bad attention, but it's window of superiority is limited because of the next generation capabilities. Amazing aircraft.

This plane is amazing. Many talk about cost being too high but it's actually come way down and is more affordable than a lot of 4th gen planes. Even better, we've been able to sell these planes to our allies so there are hundreds of them around rgw world now protecting Nato allied countries. The F22 was not sold to any other country and other nations really needed an upgrade which the f35 provides. Think of it as a quarterback out on the field directing and organizing plays because if it's powerful sensors and multplatform communication

Right cus they release upgrades in blocks and the c block can do sum new maneuvers. They making a new engine for block 4 and other crazy upgrades butf35b may not get block 4 cus the engine unless they can make a smaller adaptive jet engine smaller so it can cool all the new and current electronics computers and etc or they can create it find material to reduced the electrical heat

Yep, I heard it's as loud as like 10 F16s taking off tho lol.. My country upgrades our F16s too and it was suggested they don't fly often when being so loud & the pilots to fly/train on a simulator instead when we get them LOL.

Just remember, pilots HATED the P51 initially.
The initial P51 was severly underpowered, which any fighter pilot rightly hates.
Once they fitted them with the Rolls Royce Merlin engines, the aircraft was much more capable.
Saw them all in 1982. Including operational SR71s.
2010 2014 at Edwards saw them all again.
I heard that too, F35 slow, but what I saw was a very fast airplane.
Fit and finish was next level too.
F22 is obviously the dude. But F35 is a badass plane.
These are way more advanced than the original f13s of the 80s. The old stealth bombers were flat. Theydont compare to the f25 or f35 jets of today.
The f35 is slower but can reach altitudes crazy high. And the manueberability of these planes is amazing

I don't think it has supercruise speed. Supercruise is the ability to be supersonic without afterburner. I don't think this plane can do that. The F-22 can.

Of course it can sprint 150 miles in afterburner. That isn't supercruise though. The F-22 can fly supersonic without afterburner. Not the same thing.

Its awesome being followed by a camera but in person its like watching magic. The slow speed maneuverability that just doesnt really seem possible, as well as the angle of attack at faster speeds that would seem to indicate an aggressive stall. I'm rarely impressed but I felt like a kid seeing a magic trick for the first time.

This is the f35b which is physically and systematically restricted to only 7gs due to the extra weight from the extra equipment for the STOVL ability. The air force variant can hit 9 g and sustain anything below that easily depending on speed and pilot ability. The other f35s are capable of even greater maneuvering than the B model in this video

Не только.Его уникальность в том,что это еще и первый самолет,который устроит и ВМС и ВВС.+ Lockheed Martin при его разработке применили решения со своего предыдущего F-22 ,при этом устранили недостатки,коих у Раптора было навалом и существенно удешевили машинку со 150 млн бачей до 80 млн.

Semper Fi, Marines. We had Harriers at Cherry Point in MAG-32 and they were really impressive at the time - but these planes, pilots, and ground crews are next level in comparison.
Here in the U.K decommissioning the Harrier was yet another stupid decision by the Brit government. It's all they're good at when it comes to our armed forces. Even with its numerous upgrades, it still has a very useful role to play within our inventory. What do we have now? F35s and aging Typhoons.😤

@@demonbre I love and hold the utmost respect for the Harrier, it's drivers, and those who service and maintain all facets of it's operation (I was in a Harrier Support Sqdn after all - ooh rah, MAG-32/MALS-32) - but the F-35 is a wholly more capable A/C in comparison to it. It can fly much better/faster, can carry much more ordnance, can faster and better assist the Marines on the ground, and can get the Marine Pilots back from their sorties much much safer - it's a generationally superior A/C, IMO and also in the Marine pilots' opinion....

F 22 истребитель которому пока не равных ,китайцы пытаются , но пока далеко , а у F 35 другие функции притащить незаметно 2( он мало заметный на радарах и Израиль это не один раз подтвердил) ядерные бомбы,незаметно войти и уничтожить системы ПВО ,засечь с громадных расстояний самолеты противника 360* пустить по 6 самолетам ракеты и неспешно лететь на обед.А ещё отслеживает запуски ракет с расстояния до 1300 км и их сопровождает .И ещё кучу всего это же электронная платформа и связь поддерживает со всем от комвзвода до спутников .И ковырки ему не нужны не 41 год .

For years during development people criticized this plane saying it was slow and couldn't turn. Well look at me now. This plane is doing things that the F-16 can't. And it's stealth. And it's a much more situationally aware platform. Huge upgrade

Pilots performing such maneuvers on such aircraft withstand enormous overloads. Not everyone can withstand.

Agreed. I saw one today at very close range, followed by the Blue Angels. Six F/A-18 E/F Super Hornets together were not as loud as one F35 Lightning II.
They are insanely loud. I lived on a mountain in inland Norway, where the F35 daily flew over. It vibrated the whole house. The F16s never did that

That's a LOT of Gs to pull in a row! Kudos to that pilot. With the new upgrades like GE dual power engine (for all but B version), better software, bigger weapons bay, etc. the F-35 will be about teh best 5th gen. fighter in operation.

The way thrust vectoring aircraft can move through the air is mind blowing. You see it take off and fly normal for a minute, then all of a sudden it pulls off these maneuvers that are seemingly impossible according to the laws of physics. Watching the F-22A Raptor is even more astonishing.
It's not that special. It'd just what fly by wire allows. The F15 is getting fly by fire soon and it will do the same thing
The F-35B doesn't use thrust vectoring in normal flight, only in STOVL mode.
It's not the plane; it's the pilot.

Most of the negative comments about the F-35 was due to “poor performance” numbers when its flight capabilities were artificially limited during testing and qualification … that is where the myth that the F-16 outperforms it comes from. The capabilities were designed to match the F-16 and F-18. Pilots who have flown both the F-16 and F-35 say the F-35 is much easier to control and point. Like any complex system, the plane has had teething problems that are addressed as issues are discovered.

The aerodynamics of this plane, and the speed alone are so impressive, never mind it's the most lethal aircraft of it's kind

The fact that it can hover is amazing. 6:00
Costs a lot more fuel to do that than to coast a circle from a few miles above radar range where the air is thinner.
And impressive to hover with that much control while rotating. Seems handy while briefly evading missiles or detection behind hills and valleys. Seems plausible that even just a moment of this ability could well save the pilot and plane.
@@care2think611 its not really supposed to be used during combat, or during normal flight. its really only for take off and landing on carriers like the Queen Elizabeth. it takes quite a while to slow down enough to hover like that, and once its slow it takes just as long to speed back up. it seems to me like it would be far too risky to put yourself in a state of zero energy during combat, since you wouldn't be able to maneuver to dodge missiles, or really do anything against a faster bandit. the only thing you would have on your side is terrain masking (if the terrain is suitable), which you could do without hovering by just flying low

Никто же нам не показал "уникальную" способность обнаруживать и прятаться (невидимым быть), а сказали вот смотрите на "безумную" маневренность)). Так он ничего безумного и не показал, просто летал как самолет, ну еще на месте повисел, но это с вертикальным взлетом тоже давно пройдено

It turned out to be the jack of all trades and master of some for sure. They underestimated it for a long time and while not the most maneuverable it does stand it’s own ground

Yeah, thrust vectoring will do the trick every time. But it lacks about everything else you'd expect 5th gen fighters to have. Like stealth..

I remember people criticising the f-35 for being too big in the belly and it seriously affecting the manoeuvrability of the aircraft. As far as I can see that’s probably true, when you compare it to the f-22. But the f-22 is a ufo in the shape of a plane, this is pretty damn good manoeuvrability
I've always wondered about how really efficient the super maneuverability of the f22 is in combat situations, as a lot of the maneuvers can only be done at slow speed.
Where as the f35 is doing more conventional maneuvers .
Both are amazing aircraft.
@@daveyboy6985as it turns out, pretty damn useful in the days of stealth fighters. We have nowhere near enough public intel to make fair assumptions on just how effective the stealth is on these aircraft from all nations, but simulations point to a pretty conclusive point, engagements are getting much closer together. Factoring in terrain, stealth fighters are actually getting to the merge semi-regularly, so dogfighting prowess is something that nations are legitimately considering. How the f-35 is slightly different because as far as we know the electronic suite and radar on that thing turn it into a bee connected to a hive of information which means they can use other radar to boost their radar and potentially pinpoint targets in advance, but all this is heavy and therefore they didn’t want to make the f-35 super-manoeuvrable.

In a dog fight it’s not really what plane is more maneuverable it’s what pilot manages his energy better
i wish they would show flight path animated n 3D space, not unlike watching GOLF on tv ... i'm just a stupid civilian, but its hard to tell what the plane is doing and how well its doing it, especially by itself.
For that just look at the missions flown in Iraq.

Где маневренность,до маневренности Су-37 ему ещё очень далеко, пилотаж на уровне выпускника лётного училища,взлет проход по кругу посадка вот всё что умеет.
Вы, наверное, имели в виду Су-35... или Су-57. Потому что Су-37 - экспериментальная модель, просуществовавшая несколько лет в единственном экземпляре.

The Su-37 is an iron that crashed on its first outing. Moreover, it does not make a vertical takeoff.

@@IslandCrimea ... тяговооруженность - это немного другое. Если мне не изменяет склероз- тяговооруженность величина относительная и равна отношению тяги двигателя к снаряженной массе самолета. Размерности не имеет. Lkz А-35 - 0,67 (если тяга фосажная), для Су-57- 1,07 (при тех же условиях). Как- то так.
