Which "apocalypse" did you mean? It's just in the past 2 years we've had like 6 so far, of course here we are.... No apocalypse, just a bunch of people being manipulated. I turned 30 last year, still relatively young, yet I've survived what? Like 50 "end of the world"s? I honestly don't understand why people keep pushing this narrative. Are attention spans really that short that people can't remember the last "apocalypse" and realize it's all bs?

The "gaiter" is very effective. Never heard it called that but this method is definitely better than the reverse which starts front w/tails hanging front to back and tucks reverse. This Gaiter method covers more area and breathes better. Great video monk dude.

You can also wrap different Turban with it. I did this once to my mother as she visited me and didn´t anticipate that it would be much colder here. You can easily make an improvised hat that not just gives you two layers on the head but additional protection around the ears:
    1) fold it into a big triangle
    2) roll the long edge 3 times so that you got a triangle with two laces.
    3) put the triangle on your head and knot the laces behind your back
    4) take the upper lace and stuff it into the brim of your turban
    5) this leaves the lower lace dangling down. It can be used to cover your face or neck.

Hello and thank you for doing this video because, I learned so much! Some years ago, I learned the value in carrying a couple of extremely lightweight Sarong wraps with me as I backpacked a few times on "Camino" in Spain & Portugal (used them as curtains on bunks, towels, hair wraps, tops, knee wraps and so much more). Now I'll go peruse your other videos! May God bless you and yours.

Saved Monk: Thanks for the food for thought! I've had a shemagh for years that's just been sitting in my go-bag but not getting it's proper use apparently.
Suggestion: On using as an arm sling, the knot should be at the shoulder so the injured arm has more room to rest. Otherwise you restrict blood flow in the arm/wrist area. Try to avoid using a square knot, esp. on the shoulder, as it can be quite uncomfortable in short order. Try to make the joint in front of the shoulder to keep from putting too much pressure on those nerves/blood vessels as well.

  • @Scott64a

These are a must have for any camping or hiking trip, or even out fishing and hunting. There is no shortage of uses for a big square of light fabric and it carries easily on your neck, across your shoulders or even stuffed in a bag. Light and practical, but when you fold it to put more fabric between you and the weather, it just gets better and better.
I've used mine to hide, just for practice. You duck down low and cover up... and don't move. So long as the colors worn are close to the natural surroundings, you are much harder to spot and hey... one day that could save your life.

🌸 thank goodness I found this, have been addicted to camping near beaches and wild areas
However, it’s also very windy and sand kept getting into my hair, face, nose and eyes
I wore hat but that blew off, I tried shades but still got specs going into my eyes and it did nothing for my poor mouth and nose
I buttoned up my shirts all way up lol
I have loads of beautiful scarfs and most are the right sizes, I am of Indian decent I should know this, but grew up in UK
I can’t wait to do this, plus it’s quite fascinating what people used to do long ago and the practice is still relevant because they knew their stuff 🎉

When i had a shemagh as a scarf i preferred the outlaw style but then around the neck. So a triangle style, with the triangle at the front then wrap the ends around the neck. This made it protect the upper chest and especially underneath a zippered jacket it kept the cold wind from coming in just above the zipper end... another way i wore it sometime, was just in a triangle over the shoulders, with the triangle side covering the back, giving two layers on the upper back... that makes 23 ^^ ... tnx for sharing :)

in saudi arabia when winter come specially in desert put shamagh like ninja style but in perfect way as i'll mention
    1-fold diagonally
2- put it on your head as middle east style (you will have two sides long right and left with covered back)
3- fold sides left and right diagonally (from top back corner of your head, part of outer become inside and behind your ears to fit front of your head) and sure both side are flat not screw .
4- one side around and cover your mouth and nose and end of this side insert in other side corner which formed as pocket
5- the second side of shamagh around your neck
by this way give you perfect protection and good sight , and i hope help.

Excellent video friend, I can indicate the brand or the Buy Link to acquire a shemagh like the one, it is great to make the configurations well. Greetings and Bendings to all.
Excelente video amigo, me podrías indicar la marca o el Link de compra para adquirir un shemagh como el tuyo, ojalá sea grande para hacer bien las configuraciones. Saludos y Bendiciones a todos.

Great video! Just wondering, is there a wrap similar to the outlaw but with the possibility of covering&uncovering the mouth when needed instead of having it cover the mouth all the time?

Nice vid, couple of quite interesting ones. But if the incomings and offgoings were cut off, it would be even better.
