A classic example for players on how to play RHYTHM in a picking-duo. Note Tony doesn't try to out-play Doc but contributes to the collective sound. Both Doc & Tony compliment one another's solo. Humble Guitar at its finest... by the finest.
I absolutely love this comment. I used to drive past a natural spring on my way home from work and I'd often stop to fill up my jug and catch a drink, often listening to doc or tony or any of the others. Doc, Tony, and a cool spring after a good day's work is about the best thing in the world.
This music will either inspire you to sell your guitar or inspire you to pick up and play! For me it's the latter for sure. Thank you for making this art form available for us.
Wow. Big ears on Doc. Tony kicked off into Bill Cheatham when it was supposed to be Red Haired Boy, then shifted back to the correct tune a few bars later. Doc followed right along. 9:45
I grew up listening to Doc, but got more into blues and classic rock in my teen years. Recently started digging into some Tony Rice, and I about flipped when I found this recording. Thank you!
I had this recording on a CD about 15 years ago and 'lost' it. That said, can't believe I have it again. I still play the version if ramshackle shack from this recording at open mics and stuff. Thank you so much for keeping this recording out there for anyone who hasn't had the pleasure yet, to enjoy, and learn from. Keep them wires un-bent. This recording is certainly the prize
6 thumbs down? Probably people who don't know anything except heavily electronically produced crap with a fake heavy beat. This is pure unadulterated great music. Can you imagine how much fun these guys have playing music with each other?
Thanks so much for this......good recording....Top Treasured Masters.....Terrific selection of chesnuts......was this performance in the auditorium at Wilkes Community College.....the recording makes it sound so intimate and close......or was it out on the main stage? .......Just Wonderful!!!!!
Such comfort music that goes into me and resonates inside. So dog gone pleasant.
I am so grateful that I got to see that set live, as well as many others by each of them.
Cant wait to hear Doc's tunes in heaven again.
Doc’s voice should be regarded just as highly as Ella Fitzgerald or Louis Armstrong or Frank Sinatra.

Doc's music was like taking a long pull of clear cool water after hard work on a hot day!
Helluva comment
Couldn't put it any better!!!

It doesn’t get any better than this.
Great guitarists
just want to point out, having ads interrupting a recording like this is an actual sin. y'all need to find religion.
and then there was midnight jam later on. I seem to remember. so NIce. Shout out from Deep Gap.

Doc and Tony two masters of the guitar.....
THE BEST & THE BEST
Joyous! Enough said. Love and peace.
Masters!
no rehearsal...just wow!
I liked it when Doc said "Tony its a pleasure to play some music with ya here"
Nobody and I mean Nobody shows as much respect for Jimmy Rodgers in mannerisms and style as THE GREAT DOC WATSON .
Salt Creek - great tune. This is such a super version.
Doc and Tony together. Heaven
They're jamming there now.
It don't get much better!
All we need is Norman.

Calm down. Six down votes and 600 up votes. They were probably accidental downvotes.
@@216trixie I'm perfectly calm. You must be one of the people I commented about.

You can't tell me there's no video of this damn
I thought TH-cam was about VIDEO. ???
And audio when they don't have video. Better than nothing when you have these 2 playing together.
