I personally want to thank Less Than Face Productions for all the amazing music you post, I have found much much joy simply because of you and these awesome music videos! You Are Appreciated from people you don't even know. We are simply Grateful!!!
It is with a heavy heart we say goodbye to one of the most iconic voices & musicians in bluegrass. David Anthony “Tony” Rice passed away yesterday, Dec 25, at his home in Reidsville, NC. Few will ever match his skill & influence. Rest in Peace, Tony.
@@bradyross2379 thanks t6o whoever this up. My only time in Hampdem CT was to find an undertaker to take care of my brother and my mother's journey to the next stage, and t hear tony sing this now. Here in FL he means a lot, there are a lot of great musicians drawn into the music like the great Mark Johnson by Tony and his brothers and other kin who still work and live here in Florida
Cheers for this, I've been looking for "guitar trainer game" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Peynharlotte Acoustic Smasher - (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my brother in law got excellent success with it.
Saw him and slightly different company round this time at Jormas' "Fur Peace Ranch" (Also on You Tube), devoured a "Hot Tuna Melt" at the outside stand, cool moist night especially after Tony made a prophetic comment about the oncoming outside break and adjustment. Had to laugh again mwhile taking care of our brought on munchies. Then more Tony-Thank you Tony & FPR, add the Unitarian Church here! American Wooden Music-A clean elixir get some on you best if the cultures are live now in 2023.
He was an iconic Bluegrass/New Acoustic/Jazz/Folk/Americana performing/recording artist and put down here on Earth by a UFO from another world long ago in1951... 😢 I miss him so much. Rest in peace, my Brother from another mother...
Would love to go to his grave and spend some time with him. My greatest acoustic Guitar influence!! No one can flat pick like him. On a plane all his own. My Dad, as a bluegrass band leader, had his collection and I’ve listened to Tony for almost 40 years. Unique..... R.I.P. my Friend.
Tony brings a guitar alive; that sound is so clean and sweet. These musicians are so great, it lets us imagine what it must be like in heaven. Thanks for sharing these beautiful, wonderful sounds .
Bryn Davies just told that bass what was what, I tell you! Best from the hills of Virginia. Cork P.C. Tony was a phenomenal player along with many from the Danville, Pittsylvania, Henry, Floyd area on and on who inspired and taught me the vagaries of the acoustic guitar...they gave me a blessing which will last my lifetime. To be able to play music is one of the 3 great joys of life: family, the love thereof, The Lord- whoever they may be, and music.
Over the years I've always enjoyed watching Tony Rice give that little nod to the other musicians in the group. He KNOWS what he wants to hear and more importantly when we should hear it too. Such a gift to us all! Each of these superb musicians complement each other with their impeccable timing. Thank God for the gift of music and the talented musicians who deliver to us such beauty!
Up close and personal with fantastic sound of Tony and Company. Thank you for these, such a beautiful experience. Makes me wanna change to a Unitarian, if this is considered a form of worship of God given gifts of talent, this a horn a plenty. Jorma would agree, I bet.
I've enjoyed Tony's music for a long time. Bought every record at least once. Only saw him twice. Both times here in Hamden, CT... front & second row seats! Needless to say the best ever.
Gracious goodness Mr. Tony!! Your take on this song is so awesome as well as the wonderful guys in the Band who do such a great job! So appreciate your all's skill, experience and love for the songs you play!
I don't know how this showed up in my Recommendations, but I'm sure glad it did. One of the sweetest performances I've ever seen. Maybe I'm ready to become a Unitarian!
so great to find this video. I was fortunate enough to be sitting in the center of the front row for this amazing concert, in this tiny church. THANKS for posting!
Am proud to be Tony’s Aunt Susie and I’ll never forget one time when he was about 17, he ask me a question and it was “Susie, do you think it’s a possibility that I may could get famous 1 day”? I said Tony in my mind you’re already famous beyond years”!! Miss him n was so proud of him!!!❤❤
That was a big hardy grin he gave the upright bass player. That was good to see Tony smile. Great bass playing by a beautiful lady can bring out a smile out in a man.
By FAR the most skilled acoustic player alive. Sorry Tommy, he covers songs too, as well as WRITES with an ENTIRE BAND. That is selfless love for music. TONY IS the REAL DEAL 💖
That's Rob Ickes on dobro. Played on an EP I cut a few years ago. I didn't understand at the time who he really was. Every A-list picker in the session deferred to him. They knew.
Now that is a master guitarist right there. What a cool intro to the song! Tony Rice plays like the sun will never rise tomorrow and he just left his woman. I like it! And then comes the bassplayer and buries them all haha.
There's a song that Greg Brown does called All of These Things.. now I know where Greg got it from... It is a very powerful song This Tony Rice performance is mind-blowing..
Here's another great Tony video from the same venue.

what a player..the last missed tune of the intro made me laugh of pain and fun at the same time watching his face, damn i felt that...RIP.
Nice tune but where are the Conga Drums intro ? r.i.p
I was fortunate to see him in 1978 at Grandfather mountain
Absolutely phenomenal performance by one of the greatest flatpickers to ever live. RIP Tony Rice!
no surprise that David Grisman worked with him and Doc Watson
Greatest guitar players*
One of the most iconic guitarists of our generation. Will never get tired of listening to him. RIP.
We live on the same planet as Tony Rice. Gotta make you feel special.
Priscilla Eich lo
Priscilla Eich 😅😅😅
I taught tony that intro part. Just sayin
I live in the same town. 😄

Rip wayfaring stranger. Thank you for all that you gave.
just simply cuts to the soul...there will never be a better flat-picker than Tony Rice. RIP.
I was fortunate enough to attend this concert. I am so glad that I did!
You were a very lucky person. Wished I would have been there, regards from The Netherlands

I wish I would have discovered Tony Rice much earlier in life. Then again, I may have given up playing.
I am the same. Only found him in the last 5-10 years. Such magic
I was there, and it was beautiful. Tony is not of this world.
thanks for bragging. also thankful that Mr. Rice was of this world
Tony's feel, timing, tone,n style beat any speedster for me..n his stage presence is more graceful than anybody I can think of.
He was a speedster himself, when he wanted to be.
He shares the stage w/always talent.
He was an iconic Bluegrass/New Acoustic/Jazz/Folk/Americana performing/recording artist and put down here on Earth by a UFO from another world long ago in1951... 😢 I miss him so much. Rest in peace, my Brother from another mother...
The mandolin is haunting. Goosebumps. Serious goosebumps.
Tony Rice, a master craftsman. Truly in the moment here. RIP big man.
One of The most Incredible Musicians of all time!!!

Been lucky enough to see this live, front row, same line up
Tony brings a guitar alive; that sound is so clean and sweet. These musicians are so great, it lets us imagine what it must be like in heaven. Thanks for sharing these beautiful, wonderful sounds .
That beginning was magic. And the whole performance too. What a bunch of masterful musicians.

thanks captain knuckles
Yes! Little old Danville Virginia does indeed produce some awesome things!!! My Hometown! Proud of it!
Tony was a gift to all of us, musicians and just listeners alike; he pushed in a gentle way that made all around him better, so we all are blessed.
Bryn Davies just told that bass what was what, I tell you! Best from the hills of Virginia. Cork

When you have a style of your own you know you are unique. RIP Tony. I'll see you there someday.
Tony Rice is a perfectionist and he plays like one.
I cannot get enough of this video.
I didn't discover Tony until later in life. Something about his playing that is so calming. Never get tired of listening. 💪♥️🙏 RIP Tony Rice
Sad day today. RIP Tony.

That nod is so smooth
Tony and Wyatt are just the greatest!!!! Giving so much inspiration to so many!!!
Up close and personal with fantastic sound of Tony and Company. Thank you for these, such a beautiful experience. Makes me wanna change to a Unitarian, if this is considered a form of worship of God given gifts of talent, this a horn a plenty. Jorma would agree, I bet.
Work done in the form of service to humanity is worship (Baha'i writings) Emphasis on the arts encouraged as well...
It was very cool to see that bass solo. You don't see too many of those in this kind of music. Good stuff!
Bryn Davies kills it here and on every other recording I have seen of her. Esperanza Spalding is another of my favorite stand up bassists
RIP Tony and thank you for being you.
Exceptional performances by all that grace this stage! Played to perfection! Thanks for sharing this!
Very nice! I hear "Summertime" by Gershwin all the time in the chords :)
I've enjoyed Tony's music for a long time. Bought every record at least once. Only saw him twice. Both times here in Hamden, CT... front & second row seats! Needless to say the best ever.
Best version of this song I've ever heard!! Incredible musicians!!
My favorite is richard bennett's
Gracious goodness Mr. Tony!! Your take on this song is so awesome as well as the wonderful guys in the Band who do such a great job! So appreciate your all's skill, experience and love for the songs you play!
Great bass solo!! Nice to see Tony smile, too.
Tony Rice: Always missed, never forgotten, his music treasured forever!!!
Tony Rice....the KING, for sure! Thanks for the post...best wished for Tony and family.
My buddy had videoed lessons from Wyatt with he and wyatt playing. Needless to say Matt Bright and Wyatt are amazing
I got to see this band at the Blue Ridge Music Centre in Galax. Music like this is in a class all its own. Thanks for posting.
Tony Rice still the coolest man alive.
Very sad we lost him on Christmas this year
So beautiful. RIP Tony.
I don't know how this showed up in my Recommendations, but I'm sure glad it did. One of the sweetest performances I've ever seen. Maybe I'm ready to become a Unitarian!
The only difference in Unitarianism is that they believe that the Father Son and Holy Ghost or Spirit are of the same and are all God
so great to find this video. I was fortunate enough to be sitting in the center of the front row for this amazing concert, in this tiny church. THANKS for posting!
Glad you enjoyed it James!
Great instrumentals and I feel the music in all the instruments
Folks , the intro is totally magical!!
The greatest of all time
The sound on this upload was solid and nice. Thank you.
Am proud to be Tony’s Aunt Susie and I’ll never forget one time when he was about 17, he ask me a question and it was “Susie, do you think it’s a possibility that I may could get famous 1 day”? I said Tony in my mind you’re already famous beyond years”!! Miss him n was so proud of him!!!❤❤
And now he's passed into legend...
Takes me places - chokes me up.
it just dont and never will be any better. The man
RIP genius. What a player he was.
That was a big hardy grin he gave the upright bass player. That was good to see Tony smile. Great bass playing by a beautiful lady can bring out a smile out in a man.
She certainly found the right notes!
Bluegrass musicians are on a different level from rock musicians,
Especially TONY RICE
Man is awesome
By FAR the most skilled acoustic player alive. Sorry Tommy, he covers songs too, as well as WRITES with an ENTIRE BAND. That is selfless love for music. TONY IS the REAL DEAL 💖
Tommy writes and he IS the band!
Man oh Man! This guy changed bluegrass guitar playing for ever!!!!
Beautiful music.
Love the way Tony smiles when the dobro goes totally dissonant at 5:18. You can tell he got a big kick out of it.
Rob Ickes was digging deep from the start
I always do
my favorite dobro lick of all time
whoah! what an opening: restrained lyricism without words!
God bless Tony Rice !
Thanks!
Thanks Ellen!
Grande Tony. Adorazione pura. :)
A master at work
The GOAT
For sure.
I love this video❤
The bass solo gave me chills and tears.....
Amazing!
Mentally there isn't another guitar player like Tony Rice. They may have the dexterity and speed, but not the vision he has with a guitar.
incredible. My eyes sweated.
Beautiful...just beautiful
R.I.P. Tony Rice 🙏
Rice smiling at the dobro intro!!!!
Mind. Blown
Rice is like the CEO of beauty and taste. There is so much class and talent on that stage......
Its been nearly a year since Tony moved on. Such a loss..we miss ya, RIp Tony
Just fabulous!
he is just an awesome musician..
Damn...listen to those voicings.
Brilliant!
That's Rob Ickes on dobro. Played on an EP I cut a few years ago. I didn't understand at the time who he really was. Every A-list picker in the session deferred to him. They knew.
There's nothing you can say about this; the music is eloquent enough.
HOLY F***! HOW IS THAT KIND OF GUITAR NOTES POSSIBLE?!?! WHAT THE HELL?!!
merci ! thanks for this pepite !
I really like all of you players for each of your parts that you contribute but Ricky is in another zone backing you all up! Love you all....
Love and miss you Tony!
Now that is a master guitarist right there. What a cool intro to the song! Tony Rice plays like the sun will never rise tomorrow and he just left his woman. I like it! And then comes the bassplayer and buries them all haha.
