Very cool, could imagine sticking magnets to this and a wireless charging coil and being able to stick it multiple different places for home automation.
Ease of use and beginner friendly. Raspberry Pi Zeros are super cheap now. If someone without and software or hardware dev experience wanted to do something similar to this, they could crank it out in a few minutes. Definitely could have went with something cheaper and lighter, but at a certain point it's kinda just "meh whatever, shove a pi in it" haha.
if you're on a semi-modern windows (starting at win10) you have ssh integrated into the regular cmd . exe as well as powershell too, no need for putty. And then there's also other PC's than Windows ones, like ones where you use a variation of Linux or even Macs (yes Macs are personal Computers too)
Oh yeah, I forgot about the new terminal setup on Windows. I guess I've been using putty so long I never bothered to try it out haha. I thought about mentioning linux, but had a feeling that if someone was using linux and wanted to do this, they'd know how to already.
I have the stream deck screen sleep set to like 5 minutes. I accidentally left it on for like 8 hours one day and it still had like 25% battery left when I picked it up.

That would be awesome!
Cool project! Thank you for showing us and making it simple and easy for beginners.
Glad you like it!
Why have a whole OS on such a simple device. An esp32 s3 can for example be used as an usb 2.0 device that just connects to your pc over bluetooth

I think that would be a great next step. Bonus if you can create a version that works with ESPHome.
You should get a 90 degree adapter for that cable so it doesn't stick out as much. Just a suggestion. I don't actually know if it'll work.
Oh 100%. I just found a random USB cable around my house that I was fine cutting the end off of haha.
Hi, just to inform you, at 1:16 your password is revealed, so you might want to go back and edit that out, and preferably stop using that password
Thanks for the heads up, forgot to blur that out. Luckily that's just a throw away password for testing.
So cool 🙌
If I’m using Companion, I’d be able to just install Satellite on the Pi and work just like that, right?

How is the battery life?
