Watched plenty other videos, all of them did this job by draining the coolant and that wasn’t an option for me). Thanks for detailed video, it took 4 hours just to remove the alternator but I got the job done)))
Just replaced my 2007 Camry LE V6 alternator today. I followed everything in this video, but I didn't need to unbolt or loosen the bottom bolt on the radiator. Once everything else was unbolted I definitely needed to jack up the engine. Also, something not shown in the video, there is a second bolt that needs to be unbolted that connects the alternator to the bracket. It's to the left of the bolt that is shown.
Ok I did this job today on a 2010 Camry 3.5L. Car was running in less than 3 hours. I ran the car up on ramps and had to work the belt from below (wheel well). That and disconnect some of the wiring harness. I must say reaching the lower alternator bolt was the worst part - hard on my arms and hands. No room when not removing any plumbing. I had a swivel impact socket that was just the right length. Thanks for the tips.
video was a lifesaver.. that last bolt on the alternator is what's holding me up i guess.. trying to get to the crank position sensor that's behind the AC compressor to see if that solves my issue of the engine shutting off, although i feel like it's something at the top of the motor that's getting hot. under hood temps causes it to shutdown so i assume a faulty sensor. if i have a fan laid on top of the engine blowin it'll stay running.
Very detailed video, thanks helped alot. Keep up the good detailed 07 v6 Camry videos. Saved me time/ money. Peace out happy holidays to you and family.
A few years ago, me and my father did this project since his car had 200K+ miles and the alternator had broke down during a work trip. It turns out that this 1 hour project was delayed by 2 days all because a stubborn bolt! lol
I have the same exact car. Looks the same exact way. I took all the bolts out. I’m stuck trying to get it out of the hood. When you say jack up the engine .. do you mean jack up the whole vehicle or JUST the engine?
200,000 mi and that's all you got to complain about... I am a Ford retiree work my whole life Young Life 32 years with Ford motor company the union screwed me on my 36,000 Lincoln the company would not honor their warranty as an employee.. my 2007 Toyota Camry has been the best car I've ever owned for 17 17 years.. an alternator is nothing compared to the otherwise great performance great quality low maintenance of this automobile...
this is a terrible job it is best not to fight anything remove the fan shroud remove the radiator nasty nasty the bolt underneath very difficult to get to the bolt behind the idler difficult

Looks good. I am going to give this a try tomorrow. Wife is stranded about 7hrs away so time to load up a few tools and go for a drive.

I need to replace the ac compressor, I’m guessing I have to remove the alternator because it’s the only way to have clear access?

my mechanic is saying the radiator needs to be removed for the alternator to be replaced but looks like this isn't true?
Labor guide does say to remove it. But as you can see it can be sneaked out. He's not incorrect.
How much fins were damaged getting it out?

Just the engine
Should've taken the battery out and scooted the radiator fan over into it's place. That way you don't have to screw with the engine lift part.
Love my Camry but I am doing the 3rd alternator replacement in 200,000 miles and the engineering for this is STUPID.

@@uawsux I have a 2017 Camry too - Love it and the alternator is right there and accesible. I don't think I have ever owned a ford and I am so glad.
Does anyone know about the pulley tension? Is it spring loaded so it just keeps tension on its own?
Wua. Asi se deve de acer un video que se bea muy bien todo excelente
The title says EASY it certainly doesn't seem easy to me, it seem like a lot of frustration!!!
