So glad you did a video on a Lange! My favourite 3 in their lineup are The Saxonia Outsize date moon-phase, the Zeitwerk minute repeater and the Datograph! Yes, I would take any of these over a Patek, Vacheron or AP. For anyone watching, just walk into their boutiques- they’re super friendly and love showing their prices and talking about watches.. I truly enjoyed myself visiting them even though i told them I can’t afford them..

@@YoureTerrific Oh its very old, from my late father. Closest now is Citizen Stiletto. Mine is dark gray and inside is recessed so that hands and outer ring (indices) are the same height. Nice 3d effect in the light. I just love these dress type watches and I'm looking at a really nice, 35mm Omega hand wound from 60ise. That will be my next purchase, but im little on the edge cause its vintage. Its not online so I will visit a watchmaker. Great content bro, music and camera are top notch! P.S. Congretulations, very nice video. For me after a lot of watches in my collection the Saxonia is the essence of the wonderful art of watchmaking. I love both, my blue-copper one and my white-dial one, the nicest white I ever saw in a watch with white-colored dial.

I will eventually get one, but I just got a Dornblüth Marine small seconds for 1/3 the price, similar movement. Love the Saxonia but not a dandruff fan. But damn that 1815, wow. Like many prefer bit sportier watches. Look at the Dornblüth movement, layout is nearly the same. Great overview.

You should take a look at the mother of pearl Saxonia. It's unbelievably beautiful. The patterns on it look like clouds. I'm trying really hard not to buy one of these for my wedding, and this video certainly didn't help 😂

I really like your watch reviews. Because of you, I bought a sbgm221 a couple of months ago and just love it! Thanks! ALS is a brand that I have so much respect and admiration of, so when you put this grey strap on the Lange I actually got a little sad. The strap looks sooo cheap and out of place on the watch and even if I think the original strap looks too glossy, there must be other options for this wonderful piece! Slightly disrespectful to the Saxonia in my humble opinion. Just saying. No offense…:) Keep up the great job and thanks again for the GS…
It’s disappointing they don’t do their own cases/have entirely German ones (SUG is their only German case supplier). But they’re pretty impressive watches anyway-I’ve handled a Lange 1 Timezone and a Saxonia. They’re pretty! Great videography as usual.
I've always had a bit of a fever dream in which I wear a white dial, pink gold Saxonia Thin on a fine silicone strap (though that suede was pretty sweet too) to accompany my sweatshirt and joggers as I walk down the block to the local café on a cloudy autumn day. Starry skies kinda dials are always right up my ally. When it's made by Lange well. Wow. If I could get a watch with this dial, in steel with a random Seagull movement for around $1000 I very much would LoL
It looks like a standard cheap dress watch to anyone else viewing it. This look is very common...if you're paying for a Lange, it should be obvious to anyone else that it's a top-quality watch from one of the world's finest watchmakers. The white gold doesn't help at all, giving the impression of budget steel. At least yellow gold or rose gold would elevate it somewhat - although it would still probably resemble a dress Tissot or Longines with this design. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The open case-back is the best part as is so often the case with Lange but with this timepiece, it's orders of magnitude above the trite & simplistic dial.
Lovely review as usual. Lange are clearly top notch quality. For me though. I like an accurate mechanical watch, as well as beautiful styling. I read recently that despite all the qudos and cost. Some ALS watches are, and despite the lovingly crafted in house movements. Pretty unimpressive accuracy wise ...? Maybe that's why they forgo the seconds hand then hey..... ;-) I have a Coaxial 8900 movement in my beater Omega that is 1 second fast in 8 months. No kidding! Regulated simply by altering it's crown up or down resting position. For all that money here.... Be nice to see a similar level of timing precision to go with all the other great aspects we know they have... Just my 10 pence worth?
If you could get your hands on a 3-hands M. Grossmann and compare it with a saxonia or a base 1815...let's say that a lot of people would be surprised by which company has the best finishing
Gotta love the deep dives, pulling out a Coffee Talk reference. Anyway, fricken Lange. The brand I love to hate to love. Lust and disgust all at once. The Lange' brand is what first got me into watches. I remember an old TH-cam vid interviewing Kevin Rose (tech nerd and 1st gen Watch enthusiast) who happens to be rich and talked about his Lange. That's where the truly endless rabbit hole began for me. I get it that's sometimes hard to understand but it's nevertheless true. My grail watch would be the Odysseus but many say it's hideous.
ALS is just awesome. No not that ALS. Not a good acronym for something you really want to get one day. Anyways, the 37mm (37.5? ish?) aventurine Lange 1 is one of my grail of grails, kind of this watch's similar sized but more interesting brother. Not that this isn't interesting; it doesn't look interesting but that's what makes it _so_ interesting. You have to notice the little things about a watch like this, apart from the dial, and that's why its awesome. I'd pull a TTWC and keep it ;D
