Not only are PRS knocking it out of the park with their SE line of guitars, you're hitting a home run with the quality and depth of your assessments of them. Well done!

The swamp ash is awesome got mine yesterday, if u like fendery tones with buttery feeling strings, this guitar is for you. It my favorite se yet, over the se silver sky and im a strat tele player.

@@melaniebrown8282 u love it, I can't put mine down, it plays as good as my core prs or my American fenders, I'm very surprised by the swamp ash, I played some other swamp ash guitars and hated them, it was very neutral tone. But these are like twangy fender prs growl in one. Very happy, I buy alot of guitars, this has been the best one of this year. Prs is killing it like usual.

About 4 years ago a friend of mine sent me a picture from an Eagles concert. Joe Walsh was playing a PRS SE on stage. It looked like a CE. When I zoomed in I could easily see the SE on the headstock. These are great guitars. My favorite is still my 245.

What beautiful looking and sounding guitars. I just wish guitar companies would make a model with the volume control set back out of the way. It really limits them cause alot of people cant play them. Do the manufacturers not know this? I think its over half of guitar players. One of those would be my next guitar if they did. Maybe they could make a color matching 'hole plug', it would cost almost nothing. I think we need a big celebrity like Phil McKnight to say something on behalf of the 117 million people that view your show. Wow thats alot more than the 30 people that watch my stuff, lol :)

I haven’t played too many SE electrics yet. But I will say this: PRS makes the absolute best sub $1000 acoustic that I’ve ever played. The SE A60E is the absolute best acoustic that I’ve played for under $1000.
The acoustic took my breath away when I took it out of it’s case. And it was like butter. Idk why I haven’t tried their electrics yet. Rn I have a custom shop strat and a sg standard t, and I’ve been wanting a gibson 335. I had a sire larry Carlton 335 that was pretty good, just too heavy. Maybe instead of looking for a used gibson 335 I should instead check out a prs se semi hollow 🤔

Once the "SE CE" lines come out, the inventory of dealers and customers who have purchased CE's at $2700 evaporates. What do you think of the cost of the inventory losses of the dealers? And the re-sale of the used ones. My bet is the SE CE line will take off, because of the price point difference. Cortex does put out a great guitar in the SE line. I have an SE McCarty right now, I would never purchase an S2 McCarty or a Core McCarty at this time, there is not that much difference between the three. And between post-processors, you can tweak the sound.

I have a PRS SE baritone from around 2016. Best guitar I've ever owned. Granted I've never been able to afford a guitar that costs thousands, so I'm sure there are better out there, but still, I've never needed more. Beautiful, comfortable, perfect build, plays true, sounds fantastic. Fits me like it was custom built. I've never had a guitar grow on me like this one. Cost me around $700, plays like it was $1,200. Edit: Also the only guitar I haven't had customized in any way. It came to me already perfect.

pickup sound is a bit different but easily tweaked with eq. Tuners are decent. Not cheap but not premium. (American standard quality) Kind of like the SE over the USA for 4x the price to be honest. I did 4* steel wool the frets and make it perfect but... at $800 SE are worth it!

PRS distributes many guitars to youtube content maker. you got 3, nice job phil. but i'm sure you can ask for more if you say exactly what PRS wants. so ok. know i understand why PRS guitars are insanely overprice. Hey Phil,
I don’t own any PRS guitars but I’ve played a good handful of them and I’ve worked on a few too. If someone asks me what guitar they should buy with a roundabout 800-1000 budget I’d have to recommend one of these SE models man. Just got a SE Paul's guitar from Sweetwater during guitar month. Got the plek and had them satinize the neck. It plays wonderfully and sounds killer. The stock pickups are surprisingly good, even for metal and such. I'm loving they new SE guitars. Probably pick one up and have Sweetwater make the whole body/neck satin. I really don't care for gloss unless it's Nitro. Great video as always bud 💯

Not with any "S" pickups. I can not believe I can spend $1750 for and S2 and it comes with G&B pickups. I'm still fighting with mine... As well as my Student Edition Santana's pickups. Honestly, my Yamaha 611H is a lot better for less. And, no fighting with the pickups (also known as "the sound of the gtr"). I will say I'm not getting rid of them, the "fighting" often gives me something to do when I'm not playing or recording.

  • @TheNickLavender

The cost of getting a USA model is so expensive. On the used market, I had a USA Tremonti 10 top. I paid $2800 for it and it's now going for almost $5,000 used. New is super expensive as well ($5,300 on Sweetwater which is nuts). The Chinese market has really, taken a chunk out of many USA brands as well more so than they will admit which is why they are shoving better features and upping the quality of these lesser (made in Asia) guitars. I mean, want a nice-looking Leo Jaymz guitar? Less than $200 or in that range. It's another reason I bought a 59 reissue Epiphone les paul, rather than the Gibson equivalent. The quality of the Epiphone is phenomenal. I did have it plek'd and after that process, it plays and sounds better than my Tremonti which shocked me.

I sure don't like the 2 piece neck. I guess the glued joint is stronger than the wood itself I just don't want to see it. As usual if I want an unbiased review nobody does it better. I had one of the very first bolt on neck PRS USA guitars. It was the dealer sample the rep took to many guitar shops in the PHX area and beyond. I just happened to be there DJ's at the time the rep was and put a dibs on it. Had to wait for it to make its rounds before I could have it.

That CE body looks just as thick as the other two. The CE is supposed to be a thinner body. Are my eye's playing tricks on me?

Not only upstage the Core models, also depreciate them, and that’s disappointing.

Can you please make a video detailing what it looks like or how to take the neck off a prs ce guitar. I’d like to see the difference between the old and new style prs bolt on neck pocket. I have seen ANY videos on TH-cam on this subject.

Jjeezz , how come prs always makes ugly ( over the top ) guitars , they always look so kitchy / faky with there way to flamy tops and to shiny colors , they have a bad sence for taste at prs .

Did PRS stop making 22fret models? I prefer the sound of a 22 over a 24fret guitar

All three of them look a bit ... sub due to me (color-wise). They might look good in person though.

Why not have the back plates recessed though like normal? That seems like a downgrade. All be it a very small one.

good to see you in the shop, just a tad envious of your tidy, organized wall of awesomeness

Can you really roll your fretboard edges with a socket like some videos seem to suggest, or is that a bunch of bologna?

I'm already seeing these at 20% off all over reverb. I wonder why??
