Eternal Splendor: The Khmer Empire - A Journey Through Time
Step into a world where the past whispers through the stones and the present dances in harmony with ancient traditions. In our captivating documentary, "Eternal Splendor: The Khmer Empire - A Journey Through Time," we invite you to immerse yourself in the mesmerizing story of a civilization that once ruled Southeast Asia with unparalleled grandeur and continues to captivate the world's imagination.
Our narrative begins amidst the tranquil waters surrounding the majestic Angkor Wat temple complex. As the sunrise bathes these ancient structures in an ethereal glow, we unveil the breathtaking grandeur of the Khmer Empire with its towering spires and intricate stone carvings. From this captivating opening, we journey through time to explore the mystery and allure of the Khmer Empire, a civilization that left an indelible mark on history.
From intricately carved statues and moss-covered ruins to ancient trees entwined with history, we traverse the landscapes that bear witness to the Khmer Empire's remarkable legacy. The Khmer Empire, which thrived from the 9th to the 15th century, encompassed parts of present-day Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its name, derived from the Khmer ethnic group of its rulers, is synonymous with architectural marvels, complex irrigation systems, and rich cultural tapestries.
The Khmer's mastery of building skills is exemplified by awe-inspiring temples like Angkor Wat, originally dedicated to Vishnu but later converted into a Buddhist temple. We delve into the empire's ingenious infrastructure, including roads, canals, and bridges that facilitated both commerce and cultural exchange.
Our journey through time takes us to the heart of the Khmer Empire's rise. We explore the fertile landscapes of Southeast Asia, the Mekong River, and the Tonle Sap Lake, which nurtured the emergence of this ancient civilization. The visionary leader, Jayavarman II, declared the kingdom's independence in the early 9th century, marking a pivotal moment in Khmer history. Hariharalaya, the first capital city, became not only a political but also a spiritual center, reflecting the Khmer's unique blend of Hinduism and indigenous beliefs.
We wander through the ruins of Hariharalaya, uncovering the foundations of power, culture, and spirituality that laid the groundwork for the empire's future glory. Temples adorned with intricate carvings reveal the profound spiritual devotion that permeated every facet of Khmer society.
Our journey continues to the empire's zenith during the reign of Jayavarman VII, celebrated for constructing the enigmatic Bayon temple. The Bayon's intricate bas-reliefs provide glimpses into the empire's rich culture and history. We explore a Golden Age characterized by social and cultural achievements, where libraries, schools, and institutions of higher learning flourished, fostering an environment of intellectual growth and artistic expression.
The Khmer Empire's religious diversity is evident in the temple of Ta Prohm, where Hindu and Buddhist shrines coexist harmoniously. The empire embraced a unique blend of Hindu-Buddhist syncretism, and followers of indigenous beliefs lived side by side.
Our journey through the ages takes us to the era of decline and fragmentation. The empire's territorial ambitions led to conflicts with neighboring kingdoms. The Tai people's rise and Tai military campaigns contributed to the empire's collapse. Some historians speculate that environmental damage to the irrigation system also played a role in its decline.
As we witness the merging of old and new, tradition and modernity, we acknowledge the enduring influence of the Khmer Empire on Cambodian culture and beyond. The documentary highlights the interconnectedness of the past and the present, emphasizing the importance of preserving the treasures of history for future generations.

I am grateful for your positive and unbiased social media platform. Experiencing your channel and your extensive knowledge on the subject you're presenting has brought me great joy🙏.
To sustain my curiosity, I am emphasizing the Khmer temples constructed in Thailand. It seems that most of the temples or Prasat's were either renamed or demolished where they were constructed. I am interested in the Si Thep Historical Park, which is located in Si Thep District, Phetchabun, Thailand. According to World History, these are Mon-Dvaravati settlement sites that were followed by the Khmer Empire. Around the 13th century, the Mon/Dvaravati civilization and the Khmer Empire departed from the location for unknown reasons.

Today's Cambodian are people of Khmer. Khmer race has been around since Funan civilization, over 2,000 years ago. Khmer and Mon were the earliest arrival to the region after the Negritos. Just because Khmer Empire decline to what is now called Cambodia(western name for Khmer), does not mean that the Khmer people also vanish. Most today's Cambodian(Khmer) can still read those writing on the wall of those ancient temples in Thailand and Cambodia. Those temples dotted Thailand landscape were mostly Khmer's.

The khmer are the “Negritos”. But mixing occurred due to the Kingdom being a trading hub. Plus the continued migration from the people of the north. In modern times there are more and more Sino/viet type people coming into the country taking over you and your ancestors identity. Sooner or later if not now, they will start showing Chinese people as being Khmer through the Media. I’m sure you know this. This is a soft form of colonialism.

Khem, Kemet, Khemer, all related to Egyptian peoples that migrated to east, when nubians and Cushites had been to war in the ancient Egypt.
Buddhist monks who brought buddism (ancient art of meditation and yoga) to the east were black african. They also lived in Iran and northern parts of India.
When nomadic aryans invaded india these groups of people moved south. They were known as Kambujans.
Suryavarma 1 was a South Indian king who conquered vast lands. Ankhor wat so named after the Egyptian *Ankh* Later *Cambodia* was the name given to the land (originally Kambuja ).
If you look at statues of Gautama you see he has huge holes in his earlobes ,thick lips and wholly hair indicating the Malay traits.
Ankhor Wat, Una Koti and many temples have the same style architecture showing african and dravidian or Malay lineages.

History is surely non-linear and more intricate then we think. This doc. Brings out the wonderful things about a great empire but there were many complicated issues that were not discussed. We are looking at empires and kingdoms through the modern eye. In that area, there were many different ruling “Houses” or dynasties. Princess were married off to other houses so to lessen aggression and or form alliances. On a huge wall of Angkor Wat, depict a parade of warriors from many kingdoms to celebrate Jayavaraman. Theses warriors were from all over Southeast Asia and are a different ethnicity from the Khmer. They are depicted beautifully decorated. This has demonstrated that they were allied, friends and families. These unions would have been really important for the Khmer, if it wasn’t, it would not be depicted on one of the larges wall relief. Among one of the House was inscribed “Siam Kok”. Before Thais called themselves Thais, they called themselves Siam. So, If the Thais were the enemy of the Khmer empire, why were they depicted as one of guests? Some people might argue that the Khmer empire hires many foreign armies but why must they be depicted on such a large scale with great detail, they must have been really important. Also, umbrellas are signs of ranks called Chatras. The more Chatras you have, the higher rank you are. On the wall relief, Siam Kok had the most umbrellas, even more than the Khmer army themselves, what does this mean? Obviously we have much to discover and learn from history and history changes as we find more clues. It is hard to accept certain things especially when it is tied to our identity because it makes us questions who we are and that’s very uncomfortable. My conclusion is that we are all a big family…. And like every family, they fight and hate each other…

    Ankor wat
Facing to the west, because our ancestors built this monument for the future even, when the second sun comes ,the west will become to be the east , and a very even will happen in Cambodia. You know a richest country in the last day ,that your Bible says
An island in the east and the island in the west, where ?
It's Cambodia , not Philippines. Our ancestors still alive, they are preparing for a time comes, they do meditation and live in a deep inside of mountains. Sorry i forgot how English called it. (Kanal)
We are Khmer but the word khmer was written in complex style ,was read as khem mac rac not khmer. When Thai occupied Cambodia they read this word as khmen(r) not in the complex style, in normal style, so the word khmer was born , so we have to names khmer and Khem mac rac.
Khmer had the killing field because of Vietnamese they pretending to be khmer, impostor like Pol Pot , even Hun Sen , too.
Now Hun Sen is pushing khmer to very danger of nuclear by giving land to China, our ancestors, too predicted that...

You know, Thais always tell their people that Khom is not Khmer. They always say that the history of Cambodia is written by the French, but they take the books written by the French to study and delete the Khmer words into Khom. Books published by Thai nationalists in 1989, Currently, some Thai universities are trying to find the truth for the Thai people to recognize, but the Thai people are really worse than I thought. I have always talked history with Thais for 8 years. In the past, they lied that Cambodia did not have Khmer ancestors who built Angkor. Then he lied that Khom was the builder of Angkor, not Khmer. They are now trying to tell their people that the Khmers were enslaved from Java. And they also lie that Cambodians have DNA from Africa.

    Who is Khom?
The latest research done by Chiang Mai University in collaboration with an international research team has examined DNA samples from Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Burma, and Cambodia, compared with DNA samples from ancient humans found in archaeological excavations of each country. Compared to the current ASEAN DNA
As a result, Thailand is close to Vietnam, Laos, and Indonesia, but Burma and Cambodia are separated. People who lived during the Khom civilization are pedigree South Indian Mon which is not found in Cambodia This clearly indicates that Khmer is not Khom and Khom Warman was completely eradicated from the present Khmer faction, which had no Khmer ancestry. This coincides with the story of Nai Tang Wan (Mr.Sweet Melon, the slave master) Rebellion who established himself as a later king with the eradication of the Varman dynasty and theories. Diva Sarug Khmer according to the Sap Bak inscription was just a savage village recruited for slave labor. (China-Zhou Da Guang's record)
