    Ferrania are my absolute favourite film company. Literally the last film company I want to loose. I hope its good news for them in the future!

    Ferrania sadly has been plagued with bad communication since Kickstarter days. I still hope the best for them, still hope for that slide film, still hope they could get a contract to make Fujifilm stocks under licence.

    Fuji is still making 35mm film. Velvia and Supera Premium. I would have been more interested in asking if they plan on restarting their consumer C-41 films or expanding the market on their Superia Premium which is currently only sold in Japan.

      I still miss C200 and Superia. Way nicer colours than Kodak Gold/Ultramax imo, especially in overcast lighting. Am also really sad I never got around to shooting Pro 400H but I don’t suppose that’ll ever return.

    The smartflex is not priced anywhere near “want to dip toe in water” pricing. And custom lenses??
    I’m not saying this is a bad project, absolutely the opposite. But they’re creating their own proprietary closed system. Not surprising it’s Hasselblad, not Mint, level pricing

    • @RompingBronco
      @RompingBronco  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Honestly when I was recording this I wasn’t completely up to speed on the pricing, but you’re right it is a bit more than you might want to spend but I think for the piece of mind of a modern system it may be worth it? I’m not into Large Format though so I could be very wrong
      The proprietary system thing is a little concerning but given the breakdown on the kickstarter of the testing I feel a little more confident about it but it is still safe to be skeptical, thank you for your comment and feedback!

    nobody can reach them,
    their social medias are totally silent.
    theyre going to be forgotten if they dont say something.

      Fomapan 100.
      Equally vintage film formula with fine sharpness and powerful contrast.
      It prefers to be shot at 80ASA.

    The problem with ferrania is that they are in Liguria, which can be very hostile to companies to develop. It'd be cool if San Giorgio was resuscitated as well to create Italian Leica clones again lol

    Unless someone from Fuji is holding a product or is from Japan their word is meaningless. These Japanese companies don’t share anything with their overseas divisions unless it’s coming out. Outside of Japan, nobody knows what’s going on.

    • @RompingBronco
      @RompingBronco  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I couldn't agree more, they play things close to the chest and while the Fuji exec was quoted in the article I think looking at their current success it's hard to see why they would venture into a new and expensive to develop market. But I do like a bit of speculation and gotta have something to talk about I suppose haha

    Just be happy to have Ilford , Kodak , and Fuji making film ! The only way to keep them afloat is to use their products !

      @@DessieTots if you know what you're doing it's very much not shit. Harder than most films to work with, sure, but once you get it right it's really beautiful and unique. Hoping they pull through whatever exactly they're going through
