I had toe nail fungus. Did everything my foot dr. said and did. Even after removing that nail. I still had the fungus. Well I put Vick on that toe for a whole year. Finally the fungus was gone. I asked my family dr. If Vick’s get rid of toe nail fungus. He said yes but takes a year or longer. Well it worked for me. Just saying.

I use to wear acrylic on my big toe and I bang it pretty bad and it ended up with a fungus and losing the nail. I was in Walmart to buy Vicks and looking at some other fungal products to try this little old lady told me to get olive oil instead. I got it and it healed so fast and my toe nail grew back very fast…it’s full nail normal colored and you can’t tell anything ever happened.

It definitely worked for me, it’s far preferable to the oral medication. I had a very bad case on one foot, the other not so bad. I filed my nails surface- they were thickened, then applied the vapour rub every morning and every night. I’ve been hiding my feet for a couple of years so was prepared for it to take time. I’ve also spent a lot of money in the past on expensive ‘strong’ nail fungal treatments that did nothing. It’s been 5 weeks and the foot that wasn’t so bad has cleared up. The foot that was terrible has got about a 70% improvement. I’m over the moon. After battling this for over two years, 5 weeks has flown by. This is affordable and doable and so worth a try. I didn’t want to risk the oral medication, the side effects are concerning.

I had nasty nails on both feet. One summer I rubbed a thick layer of Vicks on all my toe nails nearly every day for 3 months or more. I used a clean q tip to apply it. Left foot cleared up. Right foot still has some issues with the nails. I started reapplying this summer. I do all nails just in case the nasty stuff wants to jump to another toe or foot. I guess it depends on how much and how long. I did mine right after a hot shower and a water jet blasting at my toes.

I was having pedicures and noticed a small amount of discolouration on big toe nail. Began to self treat with Vick. Seemed to work then it came back worse. I decided no more pedicures and booked a podiatrist session who told me that Vick appears to work for a while as it moistens the nail and makes the colour look better. Ultimately not a cure though. I am sticking with podiatrist appointments in future booking every 8 weeks as the examination is thorough and i get the doppler test etc as well as nails cut. I am border line type 2 with circulation/mobility issues so 🤷 really i do recognise now that i should use podiatry services.

Some do .. some don’t. Worth a try. I’ve never heard of anyone being hurt from it. For instance I’ve tried undiluted tea tree oil on a ringworm infection. It didn’t do much. Just dried it out a bit.

Vicks also contains Turpentine oil which is a powerful anti fungal.
