In this elden ring video I'm testing whether any of the main armies in the game can defeat Godfrey's special forces made of Crucible Knights (aka the Leyndell army). I've created each army by having the main boss as commander and then 14 other knights with diverse movesets (sword, spear, bow) as well as a couple of extra creatures for support (trolls, mounts, crows).
According to the elden ring lore Godfrey, before known as Hoarah Loux, was the chosen consort and first husband of Queen Marika the Eternal, which made him first elden lord. Godfrey and Marika had three demigod children; Godwyn the Golden, and the twins, Morgott and Mohg. Godfrey led the war against the Giants, but after his last worthy opponent fell, Godfrey's warrior spirit sank and he lost the guidance of grace. His purpose now fulfilled, Marika exiled Godfrey and his warriors from the Lands Between, making him the very first Tarnished.

I like how the only army to actually beat the leyndell army was basically a bunch of bosses mixed with a boss that is very effective against armored enemies.
Too be fair though Maliketh and the Blackblades serve the exact same purpose. We even see a Blackblade protecting him. And the Leyndell Army consists of a bunch of bosses too.

@@joovergiraldo5126 he’s not imprisoned. If he was, he wouldn’t go outside (you can find Gurranq outside at night roaring in the direction of the erdtree). Add to it that when you complete his questline he disappears from the Bestial Sanctum.
I really feel like Morgott's and Malenia's armies got very unfairly nerfed. Morgott not getting all his Night's Cavalry and Tree Sentinels and Malenia not getting Loretta and Niall just feels a bit on the cheap side when Godfrey got literally ALL of his Crucible Knights. Not to mention Godrick who didn't have a single Grafted Scion when grafting was his whole schtick nor the Banished Knights.
Still entertaining as always but it feels like it was very, very heavily intended to play out a certain way.
You could see the meat riding from a mile away. This is something I'd setup as a little kid and then go see he's the best everyone else is trash

@@HMSvince77 Yes and no, the banished knights are all exiled from their homeland so they all find different lords to serve, hence why you see banished knights all over the place.

Malenia and Maliketh are boss killers. Mohg too, but he gets absolutely mopped by Maliketh and can't kill Malenia either. He's also shit against ganks.

So at the end, you need an army of bosses to beat another one. No surprises here.
Once again, it's a shame that other armies didn't include (or not enough of) their strongest soldiers. Morgott should have had tree sentinels + draconic TS + night calvaries or even valiant gargoyles. Malenia could have used Loretta, Niall, Haligtree knights, the putrid tree spirit or even Millicent and her sisters. Godrick didn't even have a single banished knight or grafted scion etc...

There's so many interesting armies that could be created because of Elden Ring's Lore.
Even Godrick alone has tons. Obviously he has his Soldiers and Knights. But he also had Trolls, Militia, Servants _(or whatever those enemies are that look like Gostoc),_ Omens, Banished Knights, and the Lion as you saw here.

No I think the issue is definitely the Crucible Knights lol, Godfrey has an army of incredibly strong minibosses while the other armies mostly only have regular enemies.

I think you might want to redo this by giving the other bosses a minion equivalent to a crucible knight. They are bosses and they are up againts a regular enemy who's far more weaker than them.
If there is no equivalent entity to them, then modifying their stats would be needed like NG+1 or something.
It's no fun seeing a fight when the outcome is very expected and one sided.

raddhan getting his health reduced in that one patch took him from being one of the coolest (lorewise and visual) and hardest fights in the game, to an eye candy fight that is over in 2 minutes. Went from actual challenge to fucking joke.
Malenia’s army maybe could have had Loretta and a Putrid Avatar or two, Cleanrot Knights are obviously outclassed by the Crucible Knights in every way
Agreed, crucible knights are bosses compared to Cleanrot Knights who are just regular enemies.
Really that applies to most armies. Crucible Knights are far stronger than any other NPCs, you'd need either way more soldiers, more powerful soldiers or more bosses in order to even the odds.
Honestly in terms of balancing, he shouldve added Haligtree Knights

Seeing Maliketh and those Gargoyles come forward would've been a nightmare for anyone.
You forgot one. Army of the Dead: Fia’s Champions, The Deathbirds, Death Rite Birds, Tibia Mariners, Fortisax, Necromancer Boss, Mausoleum Knights, The ghosts of Castle Sol, plus all the skeletons and Necromancers. I think they might stand a chance.

1. I honestly thought that the black knives had a chance.
2. Death Rite Birds would have been great.
3. Dragon army might have lost but if Placidussax could nail his dives and lasers it would have been interesting.
4. Malenia's army would still be beaten even if she had the 2nd phase but most possibly with everyone barely surviving.
5. Bosses vs Army would have been a cheese if it had Malekith and Goddes of Rot starting. Also Malenia didn't do the phase transition dive bomb and Godfrey's health pool is inflated plus he had his Horrah Loux which doesn't make sense in this context as we are seeing AI battle with actual boss stats. This round goes to the bosses.
6. That last one is the army everyone should be terrified of.
7. Malekith hitting almost all of them with DD was friggin cool.
Correction on 5. Malenia was doing teh dive bomb when he turned to her phase 2. They just staggered her out of it. And disagre about Godfrey not becoming Hoara Loux there, seeing as his army got laid waste by other demi gods, he would set aside his name Godfrey and become the warrior he once was to try and save his laat remaining soldiers.
@@maxwella.gamingps4631 Yeah but Horrah Loux doesn't have much health and this is AI battle and not lore accurate. It is simply unfair to give Godfrey two separate health bars when he doesn't have it. If he had kept the original stats of Godfrey/Horrah Loux then Godfrey would have been dead before Malenia even turned and also Rykard didn't have his phase 1. That 5th battle goes to the demi gods. Without Godfrey's stomp her dive bomb would have killed the remaining knights easily without she getting staggered out of it in the first place.

I feel as though the Lyndell army would be the knights and soldiers we see in Lyndell being led by either Godrey or Radagon, but the crucible knights are more interesting. Also, thanks for adding some Carian Knights to the Luirnian army.
The crucible knights were Godfrey's personal retinue when he was Elden lord so it still works.
The Lyndell army at it's peak would of been Godfrey, the crucible knights, his host from the badlands who later become the tarnished, the Lyndell knights, the alchemists, the trolls and radagon

Really entertaining vid! This is the best of the army showdowns I’ve seen so far! If you could give the bosses their transformations, I’d be really curious to see who would win. Malenia for one would probably wipe with her bloom and a couple hits from some clean rot knights
It would be cool to see the Malenia army with the elite Haligtree knights mixed in with the Cleanrot knights. I think those Haligtree enemies are the only knights in the game that can even come close to the Crucible knights in strength.
I daydream about fighting in a fantasy world with magic and swords. After watching multiple of these videos I think I'm good on that fantasy

The Leyndell Army is at an unfair advantage IMO, it's literally a boss with an army of minibosses. The regular enemies plus one boss have no chance against them.
Yeah, Morgott’s Leyndell army would have stood a chance if it had been shown in the video - all his tree sentinels, the Draconic Sentinel, night’s cavalry, plus the normal soldiers

Maliketh feels like the player character that you played in the last game and have to fight in this one. High damage, super squishy. The coolest and strongest abilities.

She really had none of her unique Tree units just the basic enemies, whilst Godsack had his army of mini bosses.
Seems like the issue with Radahn in all of these battles is that, due to him being a very early boss, his health is simply a pittance compared to everyone else. He and Malenia are supposed to be equals, and yet she, the light swift one, has 10s of times his health, the large tanky one.
You could argue that Radahn is stronger because in the lore she was forced to release the power of the goddess of rot, which caused her to fall unconscious and be bought to the hailigtree to rest which she was still doing when the player finds her. However with Radahn, not only is he constantly rotting from within, but the Radahn festival has probably been running since the shattering so he's been killing people non-stop for (maybe) hundreds or thousands of years while continuously growing weaker and with no way of recovering (unlike milenia ) who has been resting the whole time.
Of course I could just be stupid but who knows :)

Radahn grew weaker from the rot. Otherwise he'd be at the level of pre-Goddess Malenia, who stalemated him.

Now, I want an Elden Ring RTS game during the shattering. Imagine leading Leyndell as Morgott fighting the armies of Rykard and Radahn during the siege of the Capital, you can even have stealth missions where you deploy the Night's Cavalry to hunt down Tarnished forces.
I like how we had to wait for malenia and her infinite health (lifesteal) to see any change. Can't believe I was rooting for malenia, for once

The only thing I got from this video was that Godfrey and his army are the living embodiment of complete and utter chaotic destruction.
so basically from what we can see here there would have been no shattering if Marika had not banished Godfrey and The Tarnished lol (which likely did include a number of crucible knights)

Not to nitpick but a liurnia army headed by rennala would’ve had like 12moongrub NPCs as part of it as well, in addition to or rather than cuckoo soldiers (since those serve the academy that betrayed rennala)
