hey there. the algorithm randomly put your pyramid head video on my feed, and i decided to check out the rest of your channel because i enjoyed that video so much. come to find out you're into paleo/evolutionary history too, which is amazing, because there's this sort of "style" that modern paleo content on youtube has that tends to be a bit dry. but your format and scriptwriting is a great blend of professional/analytical and personable, in the way that gaming video essays tend to lean more into. its honestly refreshing.
also, you seem to be critical of the basic nature of your editing as you're just getting used to it, but going forward i think you should keep things more subdued. i know the "in" thing right now is to crowd out videos with funny ironic meme screencaps and vine boom sound effects to keep peoples attention, but the lack of noise really lets your scriptwriting stand out here, and in your other videos as well. the thesis of your tribute to tribute to anomalocaris in tying early youtube into earth's earliest biodiversity boom in their similar awkward and unique first steps was honestly genius and it makes me really invested in seeing what other topics you have planned for the future.
this is all kind of off topic of the actual video though so: the fossil of the apparent mating ritual was stunning to me. it reminds me of all the incredible, unique interactions between species that we'll never be able to witness because of the fickle nature of fossilization and the unforgiving nature of time. it's both beautiful and depressing.
final note: thank fuck i checked your sources doc because it lead to me finding SHARK HATCHING FROM EGG!!! :O which i will now treasure forever. subbed, and can't wait to see more from you

thank you for checking my stuff out! honestly what you described was my main goal with this video and the one right after, making paleontology content that felt like a more informal video essay because i felt like there really wasn’t much like it. in terms of editing for sure i want to stick by “less is more”, and not overload the viewer with stuff, because it kind of gets obnoxious to me over a long period of time. also great to see someone appreciates what i was going for in the anomalocaris video 🙏🙏

Please, do more on peleo/evolutionary history. Woefully underrepresented topic only covered by human zombies rather than someone with effort and taste.

i'm so glad to have re-discovered my passion for paleonthology. Paleo content creator like you nowadays make some of the coolest contents of the platform i've found throughout the years i've lurked this website. I still remember those afwul yet nostalgic tributes lmao, keep it up my boy, you have the potential to become the next big paleo content creator and join the round table of the best paleo content creators alongside Trey and the others. Good luck.
