Catra, on the other paw, was given no pretenses regarding The Horde's true nature, because she wasn't deemed important enough to create a false narrative for, even if Adora was fond of her & that fondness was the one thing keeping the magicat alive initially, for as past Shadow Weaver told kitten Catra in the simulated flashback memory witnessed by present-day Catra & Adora within the Crystal Castle, "You're only still around because Adora was fond of you, but if you ever do anything to jeopardize her future, I will not hesitate to dispose of [to be read as: destroy/eradicate/kill] you myself. Do you understand?" Even when the young Adora tried to shield kitten Catra by physically putting herself in front of Shadow Weaver, the latter simply manipulated her star pupil into feeling responsible for her humanoid feline best friend's actions meanwhile also disregarding the human aspects of Catra's character by viewing her as little more than Adora's misbehaving pet, whom Adora was instructed to have trained better (this explains why Catra flippantly threw the "What? Do you think I keep her on a leash?" comment back at Shadow Weaver once Adora actually defects for real). Even after she left The Horde behind, Adora's embedded selfless martyr complex makes itself known multiple times over when the corrupt A.I. Light Hope, autistic tech-obsessed geek princess/The Horde's personal mad scientist Entrapta, and eventually even Shadow Weaver herself when she too switches sides (regardless of affiliation, the former Light Spinner still remains as manipulative as she's ever been) all keep consistently reminding Adora of her pivotal role as Etheria's universal savior/the vessel for the legendary mantle of She-Ra, whereby they all basically tell her that her destiny as Etheria's "Chosen One" was already predetermined (meaning, it was put into place well before she was even born) & once certain events go down, then there's nothing nobody else can do to alter/change nor deter/reroute, let alone halt/stop what occurs after that, even if what happens going forward could tragically end with our titular dumb blond disaster lesbian central protagonist providing the ultimate price for the greater good of everyone else. A significant problem with the above line of thinking (i.e. soldiers putting their sense of duty ahead of their own personal code of ethics & certainly above their own lives as well as the lives of others, especially those they perceive as the enemy) is, whenever the final form of She-Ra appeared in the 5th season of the 2018 reboot, it has been made abundantly clear that Adora can only now summon She-Ra purely under extreme duress (in other words, when Adora's friends/loved ones are in imminent peril or, in a very special case, someone very dear to Adora has actually canonically died & needs to be resurrected back to life using She-Ra's healing rejuvenation powers for them to have their final season redemption arc that ends with the de-facto happy ending that's been lamp shaded by the "We're gonna win in the end" lyrics of the _Warriors_ theme song, the ongoing theme of holding true to your promises [along with making sure that they're promises you can willingly keep in the first place], and the main romance's own original plan of staying together once the war's ended, no matter which side had won), rather than becoming She-Ra at random or on a whim like she had done during the first 4 seasons when she carried the physical sword.
What's kind of sad about the whole Entrapta situation is, to me anyway, you can argue that the Princess Alliance didn't really appreciate her and that she wasn't their idea of a princess. And even though her helping the Horde isn't good for the world as a whole, they at least seem to appreciate her talents a lot more.
God, THIS. I don’t at all blame Entrapta for choosing the horde, as everyone in the princess alliance kept treating her like more of a burden than a friend. For the horde, though, as everyone there further encourages her to continue on her interests [and someone even asked her about her theories!] she probably feels like she’s finally WANTED around

Mara is actually a failed clone of Hordak, and the She-ra line was an ancient Horde experiment. When she found out where she came from she had a bit of an existential crisis and decided to try and destroy the She-ra project so the Horde could never activate their Sleeper triggers within a fully realized She-ra and use her to sever Etheria's connection to magic permanently
I can’t wait for the episode where we find out that Mara is actually Light Hope’s ex, and that she destroyed the watchtower during their bad breakup. This is also why Light Hope calls her evil. Man, that episode was heartbreaking.
Original series lore season 2 part 2: Mara never appeared in the original She-Ra. She was actually a character in "The New Adventures of He-Man", the 1989 continuation and update of the original 1983 "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" cartoon and toyline. In an interview at Comic-2019, Nate confirmed that the character in "Princesses of Power" was a direct reference to the New Adventures. Mara was the assistant to Master Sebrian, wise leader of the planet Primus, where everything was peaceful and nice until the Hole Sensor stopped working and the planet came under attack by the Evil Mutants of Denebria. She and Caz flew the Starship Eternia to the Cameroon Asteroid, where Skeletor had challenged He-Man to a one-on-one "final duel", to get He-Man's help. Skeletor used the interruption to escape to Primus where he allied himself with General Flogg and the Mutant army, while He-Man became the new champion of Primus and its people. Mara was suspicious that Master Sebrian's alleged nephew Adam was more than he seemed, especially since Adam never seemed to be around at the same time as He-Man. There were hints of a romantic interest between Mara and He-Man, and she showed a bit of jealousy when He-Man's old friend and ally Teela briefly visited Primus. Mara was eventually selected as the Priman representative to the Mytes (called the Galactimytes in the toyline) of the planet Necron, where she helped them fight against Crita and the Gleanons. She traded her usual outfit for battle armor and grew her hair out long enough to wield her braid as a flail. Due to her service and loyalty to the Mytes, they crowned her as their queen. She and the Mytes would come to the aid of Primus in the final battle, where they were easily defeated but bought enough time for He-Man to return, and the two of them finally defeated Skeletor and Crita for good, sealing them into a shuttle pod that they launched into space, where without his Skull Staff they'd "remain trapped for all time". "The New Adventures of He-Man" was intended to be a direct continuation of the Filmation series which had ended several years earlier, though the change in production company from Filmation to Jetlag studios resulted in a different animation style and voice cast. The significantly different character designs (to coincide with the new toyline) and shift from mostly-fantasy-with-some-sci-fi to mostly-sci-fi-with-touches-of-fantasy turned many fans off from the series. However, the show had a much higher quality than the original in terms of writing, character development, and continuity, and the animation was of a _much_ higher standard (with a noticeable anime influence), and despite being unpopular with longtime He-Man fans for many years, the show received a much warmer reception when it was released on DVD in 2006.

I have the power!" before transforming into his powerful alter-ego of He-Man; Unfortunately, Prince Adam/He-Man can't appear in this reboot, however, for legal reasons that have to do with dividing the shared MOTU brand when it comes to TV shows & movies, whereby _He-Man_ is tied up with Sony Pictures, whereas Dreamworks only bought the distribution rights to _She-Ra_ & yet, in terms of merchandise, toy manufacturer Mattel has a hold on both intellectual properties so it can still continue to make stuff -- this isn't limited to, but can include, the following: action figures for fantasy play, Barbie-molded dolls of 1985 original Adora/She-Ra & her female friends for young girls to brush the long cascading hair of whilst also dressing them in fabric versions of their iconic outfits, vehicles for kids to have something for their figures to ride on aside from their talking animal sidekicks of Cringer aka Battle Cat for He-Man & Spirit formerly Horsey aka Swift Wind for She-Ra, children's dress-up costumes that would've at one time been equipped with foam or plastic weapons but these items would be removed by cancel culture fanatics/morality police pundits/special interest groups/parental lobbyist organizations nowadays due to safety concerns, play sets of recognizable locales across both planets of Eternia & Etheria so children could re-enact episodes they watched using their toy figures, legitimately adorable squat Funko Pop vinyl figurines for those who collect them, etc. -- from across the full gamete of the entire MOTU brand, no matter the iteration]), befriending both Bright Moon's sparkling princess Glimmer as well as the Rebellion's master archer & resident inspirational optimist Bow, and of course, directly witnessing how things truly are from the perspective of those on the other side for Adora to finally think for herself for once in her life & actively choose of her own accord to side with the Rebellion against The Horde, much to Catra's chagrin.
Scorpia cares so much about Catra. It’s such a shame that when Catra runs away from the Horde, Scorpia hunts her down and tries to kill her.
What exactly did the PA do to prove she wasn’t princess like to them? Girl doesn’t take anything seriously, so no shit
@@BelBelle468 “so no shit.”
So you’re saying they’re taking advantage of her
@@BelBelle468 The only one who really was hard on her was Perfuma, who just gave up trying to talk to and reason with Entrapta in favor of putting her on a leash and physically dragging her around.
@@hopejaworski9097 exactly. What exactly did they do besides be slightly frustrated she was not paying attention during an extremely life or death stealth mission? She wasn’t taking it seriously at all. Girl couldn’t stand not thinking about her special interest for more than 5 seconds.
Swift Wind and Catra are both chaotic and I love it.
I love Swiftwind
"She's going to get worse."
Yes, when she gets her hands on the Horde's cloning machine and decides to use her legion of Catras to antagonise the princesses gets pretty crazy
@@WhiteShadow2k1 Can't. This is still a children's action show, especially given the pastel bright colors (at least, on the heroes' side) & regardless of -- or, in this day & age, more than likely can be attributed to or may even be directly dependent upon -- the intended representation (LGBTQ+ for everyone [according to show runner ND Stevenson, not even the "straight" pairings are heterosexual] and ASD for Entrapta specifically).
Great reaction as always!
💯
:)
14:18 Well, now that you've seen "Moment of Truth" you know that's true
Madam Razz talks positive about Mara, Light Hope talks negative. Maybe the reason you have reservations about Light Hope could be because she uses giant scary spider robots as guard dogs while Madam Razz is a sweet little old lady who talks to her broom.
We do indeed get to know Mara a lot more in future episodes. She's a wonderful character, I don't blame Light Hope for falling in love with her :)
She’s making me fall in love with this show all over again I just can’t
I really enjoy this episode - not because it's anything truly remarkable; just because Catra trolling Glimmer and Bow is highly entertaining to watch!
Catra is working at maximum cat mode.
So excited to see your reactions to stuff coming up!! I mean, we've got the Infamous D&D Episode, the 1980s She-Ra crossover event, Seahawk and Scorpia becoming pen pals, and *Geena freakin' Davis* joining the cast as Adora's new love interest!
Catra troll-flirting with Glimmer is the best.
"okay, Catra, what's your plan..."
The same plan she always has: Be Catra as hard as possible.
What are we doing tonight Brain?
Same thing we do every night Pinky: TRY TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!
1:50 yup, that's half of Catra's personality right there. Difficulties expressing affection.
12:55 Glimmer pushed the Adora button. It's a big red button too.
Biggest "Catra NO!" season 3 scene imo? Marrying Scorpia to prove a point. Just ends up hurting everyone involved unu
I know I should be madder about that episode than I am, but, like, Scorpia's wedding dress. How am I not supposed to love that?
I agree with Jim, every Scorpia dress is awesome! And the underrwater reception scene is amazing!
I appreciate they referenced her original design with the dress.
@@jimballard1186 Say what you will about the Horde, but their dressmakers are phenomenal.
@@jimballard1186 It's a great look! The only one I liked better was the magical girl transformation in season 4
„That way there’s more steak in the cornflake“ - gotta love these subtitles sometimes
I was hoping that I wasn’t the only one to notice that. The auto-generated subtitles just can’t process Mosco’s accent.
4:50 I mean she didn't destroy the beacon by accident, after all she founded the horde, it was to stop reinforcements from the first ones showing up.
Like capybaras, Scorpia just likes being friends with everyone. Scorpia is friend-shaped!
I can see the similarity between Entrapta and Alador from "The Owl House" mostly the purple aesthetic and the obsession with technology
I can’t wait for the episode where we find out that Mara is actually Light Hope’s ex, and that she destroyed the watchtower during their bad breakup. This is also why Light Hope calls her evil. Man, that episode was heartbreaking.
I love the fact that we find out that light hope was in love with Mara the whole time.
I loved catra like this so much 😭
Mara might just be misunderstood. Someone should make that girl a pie or something.
I can't wait for the heartbreaking reveal that Razz is Mara's wife, but she doesn't remember very much, because of the dementia.
YOU BEEN HITTING THE 😾NIP, MARA THING GOES NOWHERE UNTIL SEASON 5 AS LEADER OF THE HORDE.
Original series lore season 2 part 2:
Mara never appeared in the original She-Ra.
For me it's tough because on one side, it's tte hoard. But on the other side she is accepted for who who she is and is allowed to pusue her passion with support. But it's the hoard!!!!!
Glimmer stole my heart with that punch
This is honestly one of my favorite episodes this season, and that's saying a lot since I love it so much. There's so many good moments in this episode, and a lot of depth behind what happens and the conversations the characters have.
Seeing Swiftwind's images of everyone, and getting to see Glimmer, Bow, Catra, and SW's Horsesonas always makes me laugh. lol
While this episode is great at showing how tactical Catra can be...this is also a great episode in reminding us how much she's just a cat. :P
Scorpia is just...a good girl on a bad side. I love her.
You want to talk about enemies to lovers, there are some reeeeeaaaall frenemy sparks between Catra and Glimmer in this one, is all I'm sayin'. :D
Apparently the crew's ship name for them was "Sparklekitty"
@@Omniscient87 I'm a sucker for the season 4 episode that teases Glitradora. You can see why it didn't happen in the end, but they also show how those three would balance each other out so well.
is this even considered a fake spoiler? glitra truly has their moments
You're right to be suspicious about Mara! In the season 3 finale, it's revealed that she was actually reincarnated as catra, and has all her memories!
You hear that Shrek? She called me a noble steed!
Entrapta is basically FOR SCIENCE!: The Character
5:05 Of course you can't put your finger on it; Light Hope's a hologram.
i love that you've caught onto the fishiness of Mara's story! Here's my one vague hint: Remember when Adora got "drunk" from the weird First Ones Tech Virus~?
We're all friends of Mara
welcome to "[Name] No!"the series
Can't wait for you to find out that the reason Razz knows about Mara is because she's _been_ Mara all along.
There's many more Catra no moments to come, that's all I'll say.
**grins ear to ear**
The real question is what happened to the lizard she made magic 🤔
i thought it grew into she-ra’s dragon
"Why did Mara destroy it?"
Because Light Hope would not open the pod bay doors, of course.
She couldn't stand hearing "you must construct additional pylons," so she went on a rampage breaking the pylons.
@wee lass reacts: Are you really just catching this series now? Cripes! You are one lucky so-and-so! I envy you so much, that I can't even ... can't even ... can't even, even. You've got a hell of a roller coaster ride ahead, enjoy it...
Mosco crushing on Marra. Bet
Oh yeah not even a question lol
I absolutely cannot wait for the next episode and Entrapta's shenanigans
As for Mara I think previous episodes basically said that being She-Ra was too much and it caused Mara to snap and go mad or smth like that.
Catra's "Oops" was awful cute. But she's still being a butt.
what is good about this serie is that not everything is black and white, princess made mistakes in many aspect thinking they are the good ones in a war, were people get hurt in both sides.
I wonder how she will react when she find's out Mara's true identity.
What happened to Mara all comes back to the Etherian zodiac. The constellations in the night sky explain everything.
When Catra said, "Oops, guess I can't walk, unless you untie me." The response *should* have been, "Well, I guess you don't need your feet anymore. We should probably chop them off. LOL!" And then followed through with it.
No. Glimmer & Bow are the "good guys"/heroes/baby faces, remember? It's Superhero 101: "Good guys"/Heroes/Baby faces don't act malicious on purpose.
I don't like that open grassy plain. That field has an ominous feeling to it.
i can’t help but to fall in love every time catra acts like a little shit and when glimmer gives in to her anger issues
Wait until she gets to Season 3 and sees the fight between Adora and Mara.
I still think Moscow should greet us with "Hey Adorables!" over "Hey there hordes and rebels!", but it is growing on me.
2 shera reactions in a row! i love it❤ i can not wait for you to get further into this series,
Its definitely one of my all time favourites along with the owl house, rwby and arcane
Another important question: Why are there no stars?
You ever heard of the Halo video game series? Mankind is at war with an alien race, and they discover advanced technology from an ancient civilization that’s capable wiping out all live in the galaxy. An interesting concept, huh? Ancient technology destroying the universe? Crazy!
Catra's like the Zuko of this series.
Mara, dearie!
Ahh does anyone want some pie? No just me ok.
Here's a little fake spoiler for you
When Catra lowers that mask of hers over her eyes, she transforms into a feline-type beast
Hi Mosco! How are you after the call from the live stream you soo missed lol.
I suspect your suspicion about deeper info on Mara could he from madame Razz's positive comments of Mara.
12:50 You pushed the Adora button. You shouldn't have done that!
*After Bow and Glimmer explain what they went through to Adora*
Adora: Wait. Wait. You tied up Catra *without me?!*
Bow: ...Girl.
Adora: Stupid Watchtower.
Glimmer: Okay, I know you miss your girlfriend, but can we get back on topic?
You and Mosco with the whole "they're girlfriends" junk.
So your starting to like scorpia, just wait until we learn about her secret second job being a singer, named Linda D'reem who uses her talents to earn money to feed her adopted scorpion family.
Your instinct concerning Mara is good. After all, she lived 1000 years ago; the accounts of what she did back then might not be entirely correct.
Wait til she finds out Mara's actually Hordak.
Excited for the next episode
Oh Mara is gonna make you bawl
"For you, Mara dearie."
Your going to love the end of the seasons
After Light Hope focused so hard on making Adora let go of the past, (meaning Catra) I didn't trust anything she said.
Nah, not every She-Ra has a magic stead, Mara had a dragon and it was amazing. Mara is one of my favorite characters.
its weird with Entrapta because she her mind clearly does not work like anyone else's, she isn't entirely understanding in what is happening around her, all she knows is that she needs to work with tech and the Horde is pretty much the only group who uses it extensively and is always looking to upgrade.
With how she seems i find it difficult to be mad at her.
You don't trust Mara because, Mara the Author and league with Bil.⚠️👁🎩
Cant wait to watch!
I here there plans for she-ra to come back to do a 6th season
Why am I just know realizing that Swift Wind is a walking pride flag. 💀
Bi, pan, and lesbian flag. The first two are under his wing.
Can't believe I am actually early!!!!
MARA!!!!!!!!!! this show is a lot...
Actually Catra is going to switch sides in the third season, but yes she’s getting worse first
Adora really isn't all that strategic. Compare her to Catra and see how many times it's only because of the sheer power of princesses that the Horde plans are defeated. Keep a look out gonig forward for how many times Catra outmaneouvers Adora.
She is strategically minded, from the perspective of being serious about things being done right and knowing basic military tactics. But she's not as creative and cunning as Catra.
Bow, Glimmer, and Adora have one brain cell between them. Bow has it sometimes, Glimmer has it sometimes, Adora has . . . a magic sword.
*Bow:* We don't take prisoners!
Season 1 Episode 1 you and Glimmer took Adora prisoner and and you had no issues with it then Bow
To be fair, that was a different situation. It's one thing to capture an enemy who is actively penetrating your defenses; it's another thing entirely to go to enemy territory and take one of their commanding officers.
