5:50 Melog follows Catra everywhere... until the spray bottle comes out and Melog straight up abandons Catra to her fate and cowers behind the nearest obstacle.
I agree that from a realistic standpoint, Adora makes bad decisions by letting herself get distracted from defeating Prime. But on a metaphorical level, where the show is about being gay, Adora's decisions make perfect sense: you can't protect the queer community by sacrificing members of it to the people who want to destroy it.
...That's still not great writing though, ideally it should make sense on *both* levels, you shouldn't compromise the narrative's internal logic for a message because the message is only as strong as the integrity of the narrative.
@@officiallyjan8596 I think Adora's decisions make at least as much sense as talking winged horses, Adora's body being able to transform at will, and a technology the size of a quarter dollar coin that can override your entire personality and wirelessly connect you to a single person's will. I'm sure that sounds like me being snide, but I'm just trying to illustrate that it's all a matter of willing suspension of disbelief; if you accept the rest of the things I listed but not Adora being right to not sacrifice her friends, then hey, that's valid. I just disagree.
I just love Glimmer's weakness in Netossa's breakdown. It's just like they said on Overly Sarcastic Productions. "Every month is pride month if you allow yourself to be consumed by hubris."
Mermista's weakness is fire because her Sea Hawk got her into ship arson.😂 Also, I absolutely love when Perfuma tells Catra "It's hard, keeping your heart open. It makes you vulnerable, but it doesn't make you weak. And I have to believe it's worth it." Not only is it a beautiful quote on its own, it's also everything Catra needed to hear at the moment. The Horde teaches their cadets that any kind of vulnerability is a weakness and that was reinforced to Catra throughout the show, because pretty much every time she tried to show vulnerability, she got hurt. Catra is finally in a position where showing vulnerability won't get her hurt, but she also needs to open up to people in order to grow and change as a person, and Perfuma's advice to do that definitely stuck with her.
How does that make it a weakness though? This was supposed to be genuine strategic takes on their weaknesses she's gathered, but Mermista is no more vulnerable to fire than anyone else and actually has *more* ways to deal with it than other people, so how is it in any way weakness?
@@officiallyjan8596 Because its not *literally* fire, you have to read between the lines. Take a closer look at the drawing that Netossa shows Mermista, and you'll note that its actually a drawing of Seahawk holding a torch. The implicated weakness is either A) that Mermista is secretly an arsonist herself like Seahawk is, or that B) Seahawk (and his penchant to set things on fire) is Mermista's weakness.
It's so heartwarming and satisfying seeing Catra attempt to comfort Adora with the "Bet I can still beat you to the forge." PS: This thumbnail is adorable! Love seeing you two together.
@SantaClaws2009: That moment is SO important; it leapt out at me the first time I saw this episode, and I've rewatched it many times since. It's such a brilliant example of the creative team's dedication to their craft in this series - they made what could have been just a quick throw-away exchange into a perfect little character-building vignette (I might call it "Catra demonstrates her new-found empathy"). We get (a) Catra (ears down, looks towards Adora, slight frown) becoming aware of Adora's melancholy, then (b) thinking "what can I do about it?" (ears down, eyes sideways, deeper frown) followed closely by (c) lightbulb moment (slight smile, looks back at Adora, ears start to go up), and finally (d) "Here we go, sucker!" (ears all the way up, sh!t-eating grin to full). It's a work of genius, and it takes all of six seconds (yes, I timed it, because that's the kind of wacko 🙃 that I am.)
Keep in mind that on top of already being a cat who disliked water, Catra was submitted to a torture baptism like Hordak. I'm not at all surprised if she associates the trauma with water, and I'm sure she can never eat lime jello or drink Mountain Dew now.

One thing I don't think I've ever seen mentioned: I'm pretty sure the key to Adora controlling She-Ra is conviction. If she isn't sure of herself or her actions, if she harbors doubt, she wavers... and so does her connection to She-Ra. If you watch the show with that in mind, every single time she summons She-Ra, and every single time she struggles, makes perfect sense. Every time, there's something that, either she is absolutely certain of, like protecting innocent people, or she's questioning if she's making the right choice, like fighting her friends. (Even if fighting them is the only decent choice, she can still question if it's what she should be doing)
Fun fact: catra listens to adoras heartbeat to comfort herself sometimes. For example: when catra is saved by adora in "save the cat" at the end when she's healed, catra immediately puts her ear to adoras heart.
20:22 If we assume that the He-Man side of the mythology is canon to this reboot as well, and we just don't see it, then Mara's group is named for a real place called Greyskull back on her original home planet.
Yep. After all, both of the twin swords (He-Man's Sword of Power & Adora's Sword of Protection [at least, the physical one before Adora/She-Ra shattered it]) were forged out of the abilities first belonging to the original ruler of Eternia, King Grayskull (whom King Randor's bloodline [including both twin siblings Prince Adam alias He-Man & Princess Adora alias She-Ra, as King Randor & Queen Marlena's offspring] were/are descendants of & whose iconic grayish green castle with the skull-faced entrance contained within it supposed untapped power, which needed to be guarded from falling into the wrong hands), so when King Grayskull was killed by King Hiss (the original ruler of the Snake Men before corrupt Uncle Kalder aka Skeletor made them his underlings alongside Beast Man, Clawful [possibly from Scorpia's Scorponi race], Evil Lynn [his female 2nd in command, who was basically around to combat He-Man's good friend/potential love interest Teela], Stinkor, and several others), his powers were embedded in the dual swords, which were then given to (or in this reboot's case, simply rediscovered by) Adam & Adora respectively, thus transforming them into He-Man & She-Ra.
As far as having her moment with Catra I'm not sure Scorpia can top "You're a bad friend." then ghosting her. If there's anything I took from the last couple episodes beside gay and catra getting punched it is that Netossa and Spinerella were probably lowkey carrying the whole alliance for years while everyone else was a mess. Part of the thing with the loose threads is the show is a remake of a spinoff of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Greyskull meant something in that but they couldn't bring the larger universe along for rights ownership reasons, so there's some ragged edges in the world building as a result.

I have been waiting for 5:50 for an unhealthy amount of time. I knew you were going to do a callback to when you said that line about the water spray bottle. I even left a comment on the video: "That line is going to age well." What I did NOT predict was that the two of you would react together. It basically me so happy to see you to do together, you are so cute together, that it actually triggers the cute aggression part of my lizard brain. I love the love you have for each other, and wish all could share it.
Perfuma has some of the best lines in this episode, "We don't throw tanks at our friends!" And Adora just has this indignant look like, "...But I wanna throw...!" I also love the idea of her being Catra's therapist, she and Adora still need to learn how to accept their own wants and desires without it tearing them apart inside. Which is now compounded...by Shadow Weaver slithering back into their lives. You can see just how triggered Catra is when she sees her.
YAY! We got a Moslijah kiss on screen, people! Also...you two skipped over Netossa's lil' tirade about unchipping Spinny, particularly the part where she says "and remind her about it every time she tells me it's MY TURN to clean" while holding up a drawing of Spinnerella dressed as a maid
well she can't leave everything in the video or else copyright would get her lol but the full reactions are always up on her patreon for those that want that :)

"The Honor of Greyskull" is referring to Castle Greyskull, which is what He-man-AKA, Prince Adam, Adora's brother-defends. Both Adora and her brother have a connection the magical power concentrated inside Castle Greyskull, only she was stolen as a child and sent to Etheria.
Well said. It was heartbreaking to learn licensing and contract stipulations preventing She-Ra from telling the entire story. It is similar to the Sony Marvel issues that Disney was able to create a compromise. I don’t think Mattel and others are likely to make the same deal.
On one hand, the message Perfuma is giving this episode is a true, important one. On the other hand, her self-righteousness still pissed me off, given how completely she missed the other side of the coin. Netossa was willing to hit her love where it hurts, and as a result, Spinerella was saved. Perfuma kept Adora from fighting Scorpia seriously, and as a result, Scorpia remains Horde Prime's slave. Perfuma, you're not wrong that showing vulnerability is an important form of strength in itself. But sometimes, what your loved ones NEED is for you to grit your teeth and kick their ass for their own good. Going easy on Scorpia wasn't what she needed - it's what YOU were comfortable with.
THANK YOU! So glad I'm not the only one. Everyone treats Perfuma's actions as great and noble, but her weakness betrayed Scorpia. Do we really think that she somehow loves Scorpia more than Adora loves Catra, or Netossa loves Spinarella?
As a child of the 80's and am quite familiar with the Eternian royal family... I am only now wondering why Adora even knows the word Grayskull, since this reboot has changed her origin story.
In The Sword part 1, when Adora gets the vision from touching the sword the second time, part of what Light Hope says is asking "Will you fight for the honor of Grayskull?"
Grayskull is a castle on Eternia from He-Man (the "parent" series to She-Ra). He-Man got his powers from the Sword of Power with the phrase "By the power of Grayskull! I HAVE THE POWER!" (Original 1980s version said by VA John Erwin is still the best, by far). When they were creating She-Ra they modified it to "For the honour of Grayskull!".
@@lorettabes4553 Grayskull was also the name of the original ruler of Eternia that King Randor's bloodline (including Adam [He-Man] & Adora [She-Ra], as fraternal twins) are part of.
Hey, necro posting here, but maybe at least "for the algorythm." I grew up watching heman and shera on reruns in the very late 80's, have both original series on dvd. I'm pretty sure She-Ra was always 'For the Honor.' Been awhile since I watched that one but I very strongly remember me and my sister arguing as kids because she thought it was stupid that she couldn't have The Power, just because she was a girl. Which, as an adult, I would now agree with. But hey.
The everyone has a weakness thing, I think was poking fun of the fact these are based on 80s characters, which for some reason *possibly Superman envy* around this time so many characters were all getting these random weaknesses, sometimes several seasons into the show that never showed up before. Like maybe the writers thought the heroes were too perfect, a lot of them were odd things like random disabilities, weakness to some random element, or mostly random phobias that never came up until that episode and only the occasional later one would remember it. One show I remember where this felt the most random was Thundercats. Because it was a "Hunter villain" episode, we have this big game hunter character who wanted to hunt the Thundercats and talked about studying them and mentioning weaknesses they all have because he studied them....but we the audience never saw these before... big weird examples, Panthro had a phobia of bats, and Tigra suddenly could only swim while he was invisible...yeah mull that one over. Which She-Ea and He-Man did have a glaring weakness, which was ripped off Thor comics, where if you got the sword away from them long enough they would revert back to normal...and yet due to censorship rules they were both often throwing their swords. Also She-Ra had the Zelda boss weakness of a glowing weakpoint, the gem in her sword if broken would depower her...yet Screw Attack Death Battle overlooked that weakpoint as a realistic way Wonder Woman could defeat her, and also the show often forgot this was a thing or it wasn't introduced till late in the show as a weakness as she often turned her sword into a shield with the gem dead center of the shield.
I said this before I'm going to keep saying it I don't care what people will say you two are always so goddamn cute together my heart always melts in the puddle every time I see you guys react to something
ALERT! ALERT! THIS IS NOT A DRILL! SAMBAKZA JUST DROPPED ANOTHER STEP! Literally! “There She Is! Another Step” just dropped in its official release! We need your reactions!
Some lore dump here: Greyskull is a castle in Eternia, the First One’s original home planet. Greyskull was seen as a powerful place, which is where the powerful Sorceress lived and watched over the swords of power before it was time for Adam and Adora to inherit them. The First Ones probably used Greyskull as a code word among themselves to identify other Eternians/First Ones
So, I'm just gonna say it - Perfuma kinda sucks as a friend in this episode. She demonstrates that her "inability to unleash her full power due to her overwhelming fear of hurting the people she cares about" really _is_ a massive weakness. If she'd been willing to fight Scorpia, if she'd allowed She-Ra to fight her, they could well have freed _both_ Spinarella _and_ Scorpia here. Perfuma let Scorpia down and endangered everyone with her stunt.
Why would you think the show's pushing CatrAdora? It's like I've been saying since the beginning: everything with Catra and Adora is super-platonic. The bed-sharing, naming each other, basing entire war strategies on each other's behavior, all those times they made out, losing their minds 'cuz the other is angry at them, fighting through an entire hive mind of some asshole 'cuz he stole your cat. Totally normal bff stuff.
Except for the fact that Catra is part cat & much like how Melog imprinted on Catra & is an indicator of Catra's true emotions, Catra basically viewed Adora as her Favorite Person ever since kittenhood and, come the series finale, she admitted to always being in love with Adora, leading to their #BigDamnKiss saving the universe.

It basically me so happy to see you to do together, you are so cute together, that it actually triggers the cute aggression part of my lizard brain. I love the love you have for each other, and wish all could share it.
Perfuma has some of the best lines in this episode, "We don't throw tanks at our friends!" And Adora just has this indignant look like, "...But I wanna throw...!"
I also love the idea of her being Catra's therapist, she and Adora still need to learn how to accept their own wants and desires without it tearing them apart inside.
Which is now compounded...by Shadow Weaver slithering back into their lives. You can see just how triggered Catra is when she sees her.
You got my Like on this post just for your EXCELLENT use of the word "slithered." It couldn't have been more appropriate. Well done.
@@TubleroneGotcha
I just wonder what their reaction to that scene might've been like? Part of me imagines the ladies picturing the other in a maid outfit
Elijjah - "link SUCKS"
Mosco - "only when YOU control him"
Everyone else - "yep 😂😂😂"
You guys are too funny, you should do more reactions together in the future ❤
"The Honor of Greyskull" is referring to Castle Greyskull, which is what He-man-AKA, Prince Adam, Adora's brother-defends. Both Adora and her brother have a connection the magical power concentrated inside Castle Greyskull, only she was stolen as a child and sent to Etheria.
Well said. It was heartbreaking to learn licensing and contract stipulations preventing She-Ra from telling the entire story. It is similar to the Sony Marvel issues that Disney was able to create a compromise. I don’t think Mattel and others are likely to make the same deal.
YES I'm so happy the girls are together again!!!!
Wait, those two are dating?! 😲
Dude they outright say it in the video they called eachother girlfriends- lol
@@itsniqilisitsme4701
I commented it before the video started...
I posted it and added a lol at the end cuz I thought the tone was a bit aggressive sorry
@@itsniqilisitsme4701
I just didn't expect them to hook up, being on different continents XD
Not really. She was still a twin baby (and thus, sister of He-Man) stolen from Eternia by portal-hopping Hordak, even in this series.
Apparently Grayskull is also Mara's squad? 'Friends of Mara' = Grayskull?
@@lorettabes4553 Grayskull was also the name of the original ruler of Eternia that King Randor's bloodline (including Adam [He-Man] & Adora [She-Ra], as fraternal twins) are part of.
Hey, necro posting here, but maybe at least "for the algorythm."
I grew up watching heman and shera on reruns in the very late 80's, have both original series on dvd. I'm pretty sure She-Ra was always 'For the Honor.'
Been awhile since I watched that one but I very strongly remember me and my sister arguing as kids because she thought it was stupid that she couldn't have The Power, just because she was a girl. Which, as an adult, I would now agree with. But hey.
i introduced she-ra to my mom and she loved it😂
7:17 mosco was screaming in lowercase lol 😂
I like trying to guess which part of the show the "Coming Up..." clip at the beginning is from. Definitely called it on this one.
Catra getting sprayed is the funniest scene in the show.
Well, let's not forget, she is a literal CAT person.
Elijah nearly spilled the beans about Catra and Hordak 🤫 7:50
in the classic he man an she ra both got there power from castle grey skull and she ra gets her power by saying for the honer of greyskull..
You two are such a bad influence on each other... And I love it.
It’s fire cause Seahawk sets fire to a lot of her ships 😈😊
4:49 fav moment ❤
mermistas weakness is fire because shes afraid sea hawk will burn her boat
I'm so here for girlfriend features, you two are the cutest honestly ❤
I said this before I'm going to keep saying it I don't care what people will say you two are always so goddamn cute together my heart always melts in the puddle every time I see you guys react to something
9:50 a cautious, unobtrusive and secretive way of moving or proceeding intended to avoid detection.
Oh no I can't wait this long! I've been holding my breath for season 5 the entire time Mosco's been reacting.
Elijah watching Glimmer be a supportive girlfriend while being a supportive girlfriend 💞 9:07
ALERT! ALERT! THIS IS NOT A DRILL! SAMBAKZA JUST DROPPED ANOTHER STEP!
Literally! “There She Is! Another Step” just dropped in its official release! We need your reactions!

Mosco and Elijah are so adorable ❤
Some lore dump here: Greyskull is a castle in Eternia, the First One’s original home planet. Greyskull was seen as a powerful place, which is where the powerful Sorceress lived and watched over the swords of power before it was time for Adam and Adora to inherit them. The First Ones probably used Greyskull as a code word among themselves to identify other Eternians/First Ones
So good to see you two record together since I was watching both of you many months before you announced you were dating
Perfuma let Scorpia down and endangered everyone with her stunt.
you guys are the cutest.😭
The intro basically sums up their relationship in 3 seconds
You two are just so sweet together
I'm subscribed to both of you and it's always a treat to see you do videos together. I ship you two lol.
0:40 I can't believe Elija is your Girlfriend that's so awesome
Dad humor times two.
I love these two ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
I'm going to need to rewatch this
Elijah replaced Hamish 😲 2:28
I don't know if anyone mentioned it but grayskull and eternia are about prince adam aka He-Man, Who adora is related to normally.
"It's hard keeping your heart open. It makes you vulnerable, but it doesn't make you weak. And I have to believe _it's worth it._ -Perfuma
One of my favorite quotes in the show.
This is one of the best episodes all around. Several of the best moments. It's hard to pick a favorite, but I think for me it's Perfuma's line at the end. "It makes you vulnerable, but it doesn't make you weak."
Oh my gosh, Hi Elijah !!! Good to see you here! (Okay, now i'll get back to watching the video, i haven't even gone past the first minute 🤣😭)
edir: I'm loving Elijah's reactions so much because it's like me as I watch Mosco lose her mind
Finally getting the chance to catch up some! And yay getting to see the cute couple!
The reactions are great, and the video is adorable!
