I'd sew the cuff first to make sewing in the circle less difficult.

Nice, straightforward instructions and good tips with the stitch/zigzag, to remember the wrist width and adding a raw edge hem by the wrist. Thank you.

Great that you don't need to add elastic at the wrist. Thank you and helllo from near Chicago.

I keep the seam on the outside and use pinking shears around edges. I add a contrast cuff, also keeping the seam away from skin. Easy Peasy and so cute! I trace around my pattern on a square of fleece....and just sew on that line; then use pinking shears to trim away. I do not line the mittens....just use a heavy fleece.
I sew these to hand out when I do street outreach. Great way to use scraps; fronts, backs, and cuffs could be contrasting colors.

Thank you for all this helpful advice. I love the fact that we all have our own adaptations of the same basic idea. 😀

Made a pair for grandson to try and help him stop sucking his fingers & or thumb. Opps forgot to get a pic before I handed them over. I added elastic at the wrist to make sure they remained secure during the night, but was a struggle as so tiny 3 almost 4 hands. 😏. Then hemming the bottoms wasn't easy, so they aren't very neat but should do the job. I made them of cotton knit/stretch fabric.

You could try fabric glue but this is really a sewing project.
