Good to see you giving out vegetables. In the 35 years of living in Indonesia we have been involved in a lot of giving out of sembako. Mostly we now realise that we wished we had given the very needy healthy food and other goods. There are healthy options out there but of course, more expensive. We used to do medical visits too to refugees (plus many other things) but now we see too how that never helped long term in most cases. People really enjoy the love given even if what is given is not what is really needed or most helpful. I am actually watching this video as we are heading for Amed next week from Surabaya.
This video had me crying. Thank you so much for showing a side to Bali that the influencers don't share. As rough as their living conditions are, you'll never hear a complaint and they always seem to have a smile on their face. Amed is my favorite place on the island. Being in the shadow of Mt. Agung and on the ocean, I think it is a really magical place. There is so much kindness there from Balinese I have met.

Thank you 🙏 we’re going to Lovina Beach next month. First time since 2019. We love North Bali, out of the way of tourists. Mainly Balinese and Ex Pats there. I donated through Let’s help Bali. Sending food parcels to some Balinese friends we made over there & buying bags of rice for Balinese people.
OMG Vie I cried when you started crying. Goiung to Amed with you guys to help with purchasing and handing out the parcels last year was my most memorable and most rewarding day of that trip to Bali. Seeing vie cry brought back the mixed emotions I felt when meeting these amazing locals. I felt a mixture of emotions and the fact that thyey are going through so much poverty and hardship but are so thankful and full of smiles for such a little bag of help is so moving. I hope I get to do it again with you when I come back to Bali next.

About 40 years ago in the islands of the Phillipines they would make “sky beer” by squeezing the sap into coconut juice and letting it ferment. Very similar.
Thank you for that. I think its often missed that the majority of Indonesians live this type of village life, subsistence farming basically. I spent a few years living and travelling in Indonesia in the 70s and 80s, living mainly in villages, cooking was done by a wood fire and no electricity. I also have the ability to sleep on a mat on the floor anywhere. They live a hard life, but the kids are always happy, even though these people are poor they manage to enjoy life. No such thing as depression which is a western illness. But if you are in Bali you can easily jump over to see Java on the ferries. Very easy to jump between islands in Indo.
Great work Muzza and team. It's very confronting to see how little they have to live with in the Villages but how just a bit of money and time can help a bit.
We have just spent 2 weeks travelling the North East of Bali. Chandidasa , Amed back down to Uluwatu finishing in Seminyak to meet up with other family staying there. We cannot tell you how much we enjoyed visiting these places. We would have loved to catch up with you Muzza but we just ran out of time We are now on a mission to spend at least 1 year in Bali in about 6 years time. ( maybee more) hopefully next time we come we can help out as well ❤
There's an old saying 'Give them a fish and feed them for a day. Give them a fishing rod and you'll feed them a lifetime'. That's what your dream is Muzza & Vie. You will get there.
Those blindnesses might be easily curable. Most likely those are pearl eye blindness which a simple short and relatively operation would cure it. See if you get some of them to be checked and we are happy to chip in. You make one video of one of them regaining their eyesight and hundreds would help to get all of them treated. Malnutrition particularly iron-deficiency is perhaps another reason. That is unbelievable in the same island crazy rich people come to have a luxury holiday these locals are waiting to die from malnutrition. A few iron tablets would go a long way there. It’s so hard to understand what is being said from the local or what things mean when the locals speak. We get ‘she says thank you’ but it sounds like shes’s Saying something more or else ....? It would be great for people to take over some clothes and donate to these sweet villiage people. 😢its very hard breaking and it must be so hard for Vie to see her balinese elderly living in conditions like this. 😢
Yes Clayton, they used to manufacture the speakers but the husband died leaving his wife without an income. There is no pension, no social security only family and the local community to help

Looks can be deceiving. You do not know the back story. We only had 20 packs. Really needed 200+. We were taken to the people by one of the leaders of the community.

I believe their homebrew could be why many elderly go blind, methanol in it is the culprit.
Actually it is mainly cataracts and lack of access to medical assistance
