Damn, 3000 aussie dollars a month, that seems so expensive!!! I usually rent a big hotel room for 400euro a month, less than 5000euro for the year. Eating out costs the same as cooking at home, so who needs a kitchen. Great info video though, but WOW, way too much money in my opinion. Can't you buy a place for like 150,000euro? I am thinking of moving to Bali. Am an Aussie who lives in The Netherlands and am hating the euro winters these days.
Hi bro,I didn't want to say it,but they were getting totally ripped off in the first place they were renting, this is so much better for them, heather will b so more relaxed, and better for heather's health, hope Daz knows that, which I know he does, love all you guys.❤
It is beautiful and given it has several rooms with ensuites,I get the pricing. However, also in Turkey last year many locals got priced out from the Ukraine situation Obviously, you cannot own property outright in Bali For solos though I beieve you can rent hotel room in Legian for around $6000 per year. So indeed,it would be all about timing&patience Cheers mate 🍺

Gday muz. Thanks for your knowledgeable information with your retirement videos mate. Been travelling there since 88 and met our Bali family in the early 90s. Fucken love the joint and it’s climate. I read somewhere you do meet and greets. Do you still do this muzz and if so where at mate. Be great to meet you just to say thanks. Heading there next week for my 50th on Anzac Day,then back to this shithole on the 3rd may. Great work all the best mate 👍🏼🙏🏼❤️
I am worried that I will be lonely in a villa as I am on my own so I have been thinking of an apartment in a resort . What do you think of that idea ? I’m 62 and thinking of maybe for the next 5 years before I get to old …
I'm just starting off here @68 & it's just taking time to get settled into the new environment. Having 5mil Rp coming in from Australian Ag-ed pension is a bonus we work hard and long for to kick back in Bali. See you some Monday night with Muzza❣️🤙🙏
Hi Elaine, I am in exactly the same position. I too am struggling with just that problem. Sorry i don't have any real answers but just wanted to say - you're not alone in this conundrum. :-)
TH-cam question: Can you still monetize the video when you drink alcohol in your video? I've always wondered because some people always mention ''This is not beer / alcohol'' when they drink something that looks like it in their youtube videos
HI Mate, good video. quick question, is ir worth both new leaseholds for 25 years and hold it for few years and flip it hoping for a profit? or do people usually hold onto the full term and just rent it out and let it depreciated over time
I used to rent a villa at Nusa Dua. The place is clean. Take a look Evania Villa in Nusa Dua. The place is affordable for people who want live long in Bali. Highly recommended place to live.
Hi Muzza, thanks for helpiIng the viewers. Im looking at Villa prices in suminyak and on Facebook there are ridiculous prices 10 billion idr. Is that a rip-off. Few offering for 3 billions which look reasonable.
Best price for something basic with a pool and maintained gardens is around $1000/month, not bad compared to gold coast or similar climate area in Aussie..
@@MurrayWilkinson1 Cheers mate, what about sifting through the shady ads? Is there a buyers agent kinda service who can handle the finer details and help people avoid the scams?
@@acp1866 The ATO applies 'residency' and 'domicile' tests, sound the same but they're not, to determine tax residency. It can get complicated, there's no single answer and people with complicated income streams should get professional advice, but generally a situation like these people are in where they have committed to a long term lease would satisfy the ATO that they have left Australia with no intention to return (the ATO says ''it doesn't have to be forever") even though they retain a rented-out property in Australia, so they would not be considered residents of Australia for tax purposes. They do however still have to declare all Australian-sourced income to the ATO every year (being non-resident loses the tax-free threshold unfortunately) but they should not have any income from Indonesian rental sources etc. as that would be conducting a business which is illegal on a retirement KITAS and many expats have been deported for doing so. Note: Australia and Indonesia have a double tax agreement so I would be inclined to get professional tax advice in Indonesia as opinions are divided whether foreigners on a retirement KITAS need to apply for a tax file number and do annual income declarations in Indonesia.
That is crazy - $600 per week in Bali! Thailand you can get a house or condo for 1/2 that price per month AND great medical - better than Bali as far as infrastructure! Sorry Muzz Bali is now stupidly expensive with the euro backpackers and Russians!

I would love to see some episodes Muzza on what people should and should not take with them when moving to Bali. Like...are Australian electrical appliances useable in Bali. And is shipping large contents of household goods from Oz to Bali in shipping containers more expensive than just buying new everything when arriving in Bali to set up home. Are there things a lot of people own in Australia that cannot be taken to Bali? Love to know 🙂. Love each of your very informative episodes. You are the Go to Guru now 😁🦘😀🌺
Correct me if I’m wrong, but what I’m hearing is that this guy paid 40k aus per year for a 20 year leasehold , which equates to 800k all paid upfront? If that’s the case then this dude completely ripped himself off and not to mention by at least 300k, it’s not a new villa by no means, the old style open air villas are definitely not popular anymore, Seminyak is not the desirable location it once was, this dude ripped himself 100 percent!! But if he loves it and is happy with it , good on him because that’s all that matters
No.. if you took it over 1 year it's close to 40k, over 5-10 year lease more like 25k/year. He put nearly 15k of his own money into the renovation and got it under 20k/year for 10 years
Thks guys, great to see people living the dream!! I lived in Bali for 10 years, best years of my life!!!!! it is STILL my second HOME!
What a lovely couple and what a lovely villa - couldn't help but laugh when the dog emerged from the pool after doing a few laps!

Yeah, quite expensive this one. But I suppose it's a 3-bedder, so 3 people or couples can share it.
3bedsrooms, all with ensuites, in a luxury private villa. A.bit different to a boarding house or a small apartment

The layout is a traditional "Bali Villa" style and very practical for this climate

Facebook has heaps but beware the shonks
Agents ALL operate through Facebook and other social media outlets, search groups like "Bali Villas" Bali long term rentals etc etc
