A couple of things are wrong with this clip 1. 2020 Lakers weren't a super team. 2. No one has repeated since 2018, so Dwight's assertion that the Lakers would have repeated is based on nothing and goes against the current trend of the NBA. 3. Every team that has failed to repeat since 2019 could make an excuse. Raptors, Bucks, Nuggets etc. After those teams failed to repeat, we moved on. Why are we still stuck in 2020? It is 2024, if anything we should be highlighting CURRENT champions. 4. Lebron has never repeated except 2012-2013, so the assumption that Lebron repeats with the Lakers in 2021 goes against the historical trend of his career. Lebron's chips are typically spaced out. 5. Dwight said that they would have repeated because Jokic hadn't become dominant yet and guys like Anthony Edwards hadn't appeared. He's using the ABSENSE of competition as his reason which diminishes the league. If his logic is that they would repeat because the current stars were absent, then he's basically implying that the league or atleast the Western Conference was in a "weaker" state in 2021 than now therefore is 2020 ring could be argued to be against lesser competition by his own logic.
Your logic is also flawed. Just because no team has repeated recently doesn’t mean that the lakers wouldn’t have repeated. He gave very good reasons for why they would have been a favorite to repeat. Other teams weren’t developed yet. And your use of induction(following trends to predict the future) isn’t a cogent argument you don’t consider all the evidence. Raptors lost their best player. Bucks players got injured and changed coaches. Warriors had major roster changes and chemistry problems. The only good example is Denver, and Denver faced much better teams this playoffs and the west was just stronger as a whole. If the lakers stayed together they had good chemistry and would’ve been the favorite to win. On top of that there was little competition.
Bron wanted Ty Lue, Bron wanted Caruso to stay, Bron wanted John Wall, Bron wanted Kyrie, and Bron wanted Derozen. Time and Time again he didn't get his way but now yall say he does
This convo is twisting a knife through my heart as a laker fan literally nobody wanted the team to break up We had Rondo Dwight Javale Caruso Kuz Danny Green theses are players that are more suited to help Bron and AD even at this current stage 💯 than our current team that team LOVED playing with each other and Chemistry was unmatched you coincide that with the fact the year before that we didn’t even make the playoffs this team deserves to stay together if not for covid I think they would have 💯

Bron didn't break up that Championship team, Pelinka did. Just lk Pelinka didn't want to give Ty Lue the control he wanted. Magic stepped back bcuz too many of the wrong people were able to influence her in making decisions.
You are right
Bron wanted Russ tho
@@wengz717I mean they didn’t bring back rondo so in his mind he getting an athletic version of rondo but westbrooks basketball iq wasn’t similar to rajon’s at all
@@wengz717 Lol bronsexuals always "coincidently" leave that out tho 😂
20/21 Lakers were so entertaining! I still go back to those clips to remember what could’ve been 😂
Rob Pelinka was so close to Kobe that he doesn’t want LeBron to have the same amount of rings as Kobe . Is it obvious?????
“Not one..not two..not three..not four…not five…not six…not seven,” but LBJ failed miserably.
He had his chances to have more.
10:15 that face was my exact reaction too.
Dwight Howard is a really humble guy.
I like how little ego he has.
Funny the most egotistical people on the couch were the least successful/valuable in the NBA in adding up to winning.
The 2 winners in Kenyon& Dwight are calm and collective.
Good point
I'm guessing you mean that Kenyon played on a team that went to the finals when you include him as a winner. Dwight is the only one on the couch with a ring since Nick left, but he did have an big ego in the past that he had to kill once he wasn't the main guy anymore (he's even said it before).
I just realized McCants has on a tshirt of Kobe’s poster on Dwight 😂
Rob doesn't want LeBron to pass Kobe's rings.
I think the same thing . Lowkey the front office doesn’t want bron to win more than kobe in a Laker uniform . Even if he did Kobe is still the one LA loves deep down respectfully. Once Bron leaves i guarantee there gonna make power moves and get stars to win smh
U guys sound crazy. U do realize rob’s whole job is to bring rings right?
LeBron traded 118 players/picks (21 seasons), Kobe 56 players/picks traded (20 seasons). LeBron as a Laker has traded 32 players/picks (6 seasons)...
@@samuraijack10 and what’s your point
@@Remorse-wd2sg LeBron in only 6 seasons has traded more than half of players/picks than Kobe did in 20 seasons. So to say Rob isn't pushing for LeBron to win or surpass Kobe is crazy
Rashad really wearing a shirt with a picture of Kobe dunking on Dwight while interviewing Dwight
Why nobody saying that shit 😂
No one on this panel has even been in a NBA Finals or WNBA Finals game but Dwight. Let alone win one so wtf are mfs even talking about 😆 Dwight is literally the most credible person in the room to speak on this subject
What are you talking about?
Lexie got one with the Chicago Sky
And Kenyon went to two with the New Jersey Nets.
Man Lexy got 1 and Kenyon been 2
@@Tumeg2108 Who has a DPOY or has been in MVP voting in this room like Dwight? They weren’t even the best players on their team in the Finals. I’ll wait for you armchair coaches to look that up
@@eezy64but that's not what you originally said though, you said none of them have been to the finals besides Dwight and that wasn't true
@@ericlucas1 “originally” Dwight has more professional athletic success, talent, & accomplishments than anyone on this panel & in this comment section. Which makes him the most credible. Like I said in the “original” comment. Now dissect that “original” statement & see what you can find. Didn’t know you groupies were more interested in playing scrabble than talking basketball. You dip💩s are literally disagreeing with supporting arguments but ignoring the bottom line. That’s backwards af
I agree! If it aint broken don't fix it
I don’t think nobody listens to Lexi 🤣🤣🤣
She's eye candy. That's her main function on the show.
Leaving a team for some cookies, nah that's craaaazzyy😭
LeBron is part of the blame
too notice he didn't passive complain like he usually does after the split
But back to Rob Lowe
Who in the hell breaks up team after winning its first chip together
You always run it back at least until someone knocks you off your throne
I am so happy to hear yall speak about this . I am still disappointed that Rob pelinka broke that up and what Rob pelinka did made absolutely no sense that team was STRONG. BRON, DWIGHT, RONDO, CURUSO,JAVELE,AD it was a HIGH IQ and strong team.
This why Leroid hated kobe he didn’t go to funeral nor statue revealing anything about Kobe he stays away fr it
And if LeBron came to the funeral yall would of said “oh he’s there for attention to take the shine away foh
@@skywalker2676Lebron is pitty dude tried so hard to be Jordan when that didn't work out he trys to erase his legacy by having ESPN back him Lebchoke
Dwight was shocked and upset when he found out about the cookies 😂😂😂 look at his face 😅😅😅
McCants is scary 😂 we ain’t forget what you said about the bubble
😂😂😂😂
They was not gonna repeat 💯

Rashad funny as hell for wearing that shirt with Dwight there 🤣
Calling them a dynasty is disrespectful to actual dynasties
They could've of been
Shout out to Gil for for repping Jamaica. Respect bro
A couple of things are wrong with this clip
1. 2020 Lakers weren't a super team.
God tier comment
I'm not reading this
They definitely would have repeated no one couldn't stop that 2020 team they were to big and to strong period with shooters
That was weird how they broke up entire squad after they crushed it
Its bron. If bron wanted them to stay they would have. Dwight you know why you arent there? Cause Lebron didnt want you
Yall weird asl with These narratives. They wanted to get paid.. Who was going to pay them?
Bron wanted Ty Lue, Bron wanted Caruso to stay, Bron wanted John Wall, Bron wanted Kyrie, and Bron wanted Derozen. Time and Time again he didn't get his way but now yall say he does
Dwight face at 10:31 is pure comedy… 😂😂😂
McCants wearing the poster of Kobe baptizing Dwight is hilarious 😂
This convo is twisting a knife through my heart as a laker fan literally nobody wanted the team to break up We had Rondo Dwight Javale Caruso Kuz Danny Green theses are players that are more suited to help Bron and AD even at this current stage 💯 than our current team that team LOVED playing with each other and Chemistry was unmatched you coincide that with the fact the year before that we didn’t even make the playoffs this team deserves to stay together if not for covid I think they would have 💯
We need more Dwight on y’all show frfr y’all views going up with him keep him
So Brandon pretty much said Dwight’s wrong and it was really Bron lmaoo
How Jennings and McCants consistently derail important conversations is just incredible
Dwight looked at Brandon at the end like damn bro you might be right
I'm today years old when i found out Rob Pelinka was on the "Fab Five" Michigan team.
What are Brandon and Mccants talking about lmaooooo
I say this all the time that Lakers squad was savage I was disappointed when they separated
Shawty and Brandon high af 😂😂😂
Brandon just high... High saying anything lmao. I be doing that shit too so I know 😂😂😂
Picture had AD in the back like he was on a 30 day contract.
That’s a wild narrative to throw out there… BJeezy and McCants be ODing the Bron slander…
Dang, they make a good pint about Magic & Rob.
Dwight was in real shock about LeBron leaving Miami over cookies 😂
Dwight no matter his issues is an interesting cat, y'all need to bring him back often and always!!!
Brandon Streeeeeeeetched TF out of this 😂
WE DONT NEED NO FUCKIN HOOKA!!! 😂
-Kenyon Martin
That Lakers team was stacked and a good mix of Youth and quality vets.
tbf rob built that championship team not magic but it makes it even more frustrating he broke it up
😂😂😂 that shirt wild as hell Rashad has on
The funniest thing about this conversation is, Kobe wanted to win his way also and pushed Shaq out of LA.
It probably cost him rings but he didn't gaf either. He wanted to win HIS way
I agree. I may not like Harward life styles, but Lakers had a good squad.
Over chocolate chip cookies. Lmao
8:53 Mccants brings up now and they were talking about 2020 🤦🏿♂️
Tough jersey Gil💯💯
