I have a suggestion that might avoid the bubbles in the thinner paints. As a nurse, when I needed to mix a suspension prior to giving an injection, I would briskly roll it between my palms for a few seconds, rather than shake it back and forth or up and down. It worked well without creating bubbles. I don't know if that will work with paint or not. I'm pretty sure it would need to be rather fluid and not the thicker varieties. Just a thought to maybe keep them from "exploding" on you or your work. I always appreciate your perseverance and it amazes me how things always turn out great. Great job. Not really my favorite colors and I ended up loving i
Thank goodness for bubble wrap. It definitely improved that print! Love the stamping you did! I sure like that oriental text stamp! Elizabeth does marvelous work and usually uses rice paper.
When you added the white bubble to the print @41 minutes-ish (in the bottom right corner) your hand print was visible. A new dimension as you would say
Just finished watching the video and it is so fun to watch how you pull your prints and try new methods. I love the black stamps on top....very dynamic and interesting.
Wonderful that you did not give up! Showing what you considered a mistake and then fixing it is valuable to everyone. Condolences on your loss. May the next few weeks be ‘lighter’ for you. Congrats on the new designs.
Not only “done” but gorgeous as always! Can you hear me when you ask “ should I put a metallic on now?” The answer is always yes!! LOL The type characters and dragonflies at the end just made it! TFS
Hi Ceri! You just finished with the original idea and I think it looks very much like a retro summer pattern. Very mid-century modern. The colors, the patterns very much work. And I LOVE the name of the new stencil, Eyes Go Round, 😂lol it absolutely looks like eye rolling! Well done! It's fun and unusual. Alright, onward to the second half of the video... As usual, I was nervous but love the stamps! I have been eyeing them on PM. I really loved the first color scheme. I'm feeling the whole MCM style these days. A throwback to my youth. We moved, as a family between child 5 and 6, from Maine to Indiana. So my parents sold furniture in one place and bought new in the new place circa 1966. I was 2 or 3 and my earliest memories are those mid century colors, and Swedish inspired angles and the fun. I would challenge you to repeat this exercise and not try to make it fall. And keep tge eye rolling! 🙄❣
Hi Ceri I watch Elizabeth too, must have missed this one. I think it turned out great. Yes I was trying to tell you, you skipped the middle, but whew, you saw it 😂. Oh and at the beginning it reminded me of a green, yellow, orange, purple, polka dot flower power bed spread I had as a kid in the mid 70s...especially when you were considering adding purple. And I actually have seen that bedspread on Pinterest.😂
Love it Ceri. The Dragonfly is gorgeous. You could make a note book or tall skinny journal with it. Thank you for sharing. Oh, have you seen Vikki Reed's gel prints and what she makes with them. Vikki is worth a watch.
Omg ceri ! Yes it reminded me of an African batik fabric ❤❤ ( I sew a lot of clothes 😂😂)and I thought the main pull you done was amazing, just shows that we all have different opinions ehh
I’m laughing so hard right now. I have been sitting here screaming at my computer “Ceri… You need to put something in the middle. It’s a big open space” And all of a sudden you go “Why did I avoid the middle?” I laughed out loud to the point my 17 year old son asked if I was okey 😂😂
Is “goober it up” one of those technical terms used in gelli art…I’m just kidding with you and I’m going to start using it because I goober things up all the time lol As always you’ve done a wonderful job!!
I think one of Elizabeth’s secrets is using stencils with a lot of open space on the second/third layers, allowing more of the first layer to show through. That said, I’m not always successful. I like your color choices!
If I may, it's actually what you want for a pattern. When gelly printing, For a stencil you lay the stencil on your piece and apply the paint to get the inside of the print. For a mask want to highlight the outside of the stencil, t h e mask. Therefore you usually apply it to the gel and after you pull the stencil off you have the line work part. The stencil gives you the pattern and the mask gives you the negative space.

It is Chuck.

Thank you Susan I’ll give that method a try.
Good ole dark brown/black saved the day. I’m a quilter and black always sparks a quilt. Very nice in the end. 😉
Yes black always shows off the other colours, such a dramatic contrast.
It turned out awesome once again. The dragon flies really finished it off.
They certainly did thank you.
Good afternoon ceri Happy Saturday 😊😍
Same to you Natalie

I agree she does great work.
I do truly LOVE this! Thank you for not giving up! Indeed, the 'mistake' inspired the rest!
Thank you
Lovely as always, Ceri! I’m sorry to hear of your loss. Sending my condolences. Big hugs to you, my friend! ❤
Thank you Gayle I guess I’ve reached that age where people start leaving.

I love watching your videos. Thanks for sharing what you call mistakes. I don't call them that (for others). But for myself .... I'm just like you.
Thank you

Thank you Joan.
Love the colors in the end and the black just finished it beautifully!
Black always makes other colours pop and I love that.
Ceri, you sure had me wondering, but you pulled it off, sigh. Definitely a piece of art! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much Sheila.

Thank you, and yes I’m young to retry this in different colours and with tissue not card.
Well.. I think there are no mistakes and it has given you an offshoot to play with-I love it. 💞

Lol.......it’s always interesting what provoked memories.
Came out really nice… love the stamp that looked like a rock at first. Then you stamped it and it was awesom.
Thank you Betty.
Beautifully done! I thought the colors were lovely all the way through. 💖💕
Thank you so much, it was nice to play with your stamps.

Ceri, I have a silly question. What is the difference between a mask and a stencil?
If I may, it's actually what you want for a pattern. When gelly printing, For a stencil you lay the stencil on your piece and apply the paint to get the inside of the print. For a mask want to highlight the outside of the stencil, t h e mask. Therefore you usually apply it to the gel and after you pull the stencil off you have the line work part.
The stencil gives you the pattern and the mask gives you the negative space.
Laura has the answer.
