I love that you're naïve enough to think that any but a small minority of London cyclists will stop for pedestrians when they are supposed to. My direct personal experience of people just zooming past me on zebra/controlled crossings and pavements shows this not be be the case.
The cycle lane you pointed out has been designed by someone following the construction guidance who have never ridden a bicycle. There are even places where you are meant to suddenly turn 90 degrees to leave the road and enter a cycle lane on a pavement. The Dutch sorted this out years ago. Kingston officers should just follow the Dutch manual on road design. Instead of having cycles going down for every cross street then up again, continue the pavement and cycle path at the same level. Force the cars to go up a ramp, like you do at a sleeping policeman. In slow speed roads, that is the way to do it, you cannot drive fast on city roads anyway, so make it quicker to walk or cycle.
Went round the roundabout where you had the car think there was two lanes and try to cut you up yesterday exactly the same thing happened to me. Yup. If you're going to use the space in front of you to clear space behind you the polite way to do it is to stop well short of the front of the vehicle you're drawing alongside - that sends a strong hint that you're not trying to push in.

Always look forward to your new videos 😄 I’m a newbie driver and i definitely think watching as much dashcam as I have the past couple years it has given me a lot of road sense, especially in my lessons. When I still rode a motorcycle I would get in busy traffic scooters coming right up behind me and trying to push past, and I was doing the dodge the mirrors trick. I would give them the verbal, there's not enough room for a little scooter and a big 1000c bike. Then they try to out run you when it got clear knowing full well you could hit light speed in a second by blocking the way, So now they play with cars and cars hurt more.
Not quite. Rule 57 of the Highway Code states that dogs (or any other animal) should be suitably restrained while in a vehicle so they can't distract the driver or cause injury to themselves or others in the event of an accident. This could take the form of a harness, but could equally be a pet cage or a dog guard.
Playing the clip in real time is always better, if people watching, don't wish to wait then let them advance the video using the slider bar. Great clips and hilarious commentary as always.
6:00 Thanks for highlighting just how crap cycle lanes can be, although I bet many drivers still get pissed off when they see a single cyclist not using that one.

Watch for the BMW lady with a dog on her lap. She's probably on the phone to her personal trainer apologising for being late. She has already been caught speeding by the same camera, same place, three times in the last year.. She has a 3- mile wide bubble of total chaos surrounding her, and a whole squadron of guardian angels above.
Around the 13 minute time regarding the slip road leaving the motorway. Why not have the 1st lane as slip road only (as is) and the 2nd lane as slip road or straight on, and the 3rd and 4th as straight on only. The slip road splits into 2 lanes as it leaves the motorway anyway. This would ease the long slow queue on the 1st lane. We have the same problem on the M62 when travelling west bound and leaving at J26 where the single inside lane queues for hundreds of yards and quite often comes to a standstill.
You are correct, on other vehicles popping out in front of you! Ashley Neal, the four S's Making you Slow, Swerve, Stop, or Swear, they have done it wrong!
@2:50 - he would have had 100% certainty that there were no obstructions in the slip lane as he swooped past and inside the camper van. There is a well shown video of a Ford Focus doing this and it ended VERY badly
If I need a company to do some work, I look at how they drive. If I see them driving fine I would turn to them, but if they drive like 💩 they wont get the work 😈😈😈
So where were all the Cyclists in that Balls Up of a Cycle Lane? I reckon it must have cost more than a few pennies to put in place and nobody using it. Well done Traffic Planners.
Most of the cycle lanes around here are either like that or so badly pot-holed / covered in leaves or gravel / to short to be useable that there's really no way any cyclist who is going more than about 5mph should be expected to use them. They're often worse than the roads which we know are a national disgrace...
I live just outside London and the male middle aged Lycra cyclists have apparently agreed not to use any of the cycle lanes (due to them “not being regularly swept”) All of the school kids use them religiously as do parents with children. It’s only the middle edged male Lycra anarchists that will ultimately “push” local authorities into legislating for costly registration and control….- Shame on them..
5:56 last year didnt they spend 36 months "improving" that roundabout, its an a**e coming from Ashford/Feltham direction when you get the german car who doesn't like to keep to 40 or know how to merge in turn.
I read this as “Last year they spend 3 years improving that roundabout” Do you mean they spent 3 years import that roundabout which finished last year?
I live in kingston the cycle lanes are a nightmare , if u drive up kingston hill from the shell garage the cycle lane on left goes on the path and in the middle of the cycle lane is a tree totaly stupid . The plonker who ever thought this out in the office and probaly doesnt ride a bicycle and deffently was having a joke, and dont forget these new restcted time zones side roads that charge fines if u drive down them at certain times , i put up with this crap every day of the week , rant over ,great video 😂
Q: At 10:55 , if it's one wide lane rather than two, why position to the left, inviting vehicles to approach to your right? Why not position a foot or two further to the centre?
That was exactly what I was going to say. LDC created the situation by being over to the left that he created two lanes there. You don't need lane marking to effectively have two lanes. And a horrible entitled attitude afterwards.
The worst thing about all this exquisite cycling hieroglyphics that cost so much money is every cyclist ignores it anyway. I cycle a lot and cannot fathom the point of some of this fancy paint sometimes. Just make some wider pavements and then let everyone use their common sense. Its just a waste of perfectly good paint and makes our streets look fugley.
The sign at 4:21 is correct as there is only one lane at that moment whereas the sign further up is where the second lane appears so two lane appear on the sign 👍 As for the roundabout, Kingston is an offical diversion route when other roads are closed so more traffic would head that way that wouldn’t usually use the road. Making it appear as a straight on to give the impression that the left lanes should be used. If it was to the right, where the road actually is, then drivers would be in the right hand lanes which is wrong…not that it stops regular users getting it wrong 😉 Additional edit: The left turn arrows are there so the lanes are not confused with those that go straight on through the junction. If you treat that set of lights as a separate junction to the rest of the roundabout it will make sense. You can also use the left most lane at the lights to continue towards Kingston as the left most lane splits as the roundabout progresses
Pretty much drive their cars like they are shopping trolleys down here below the Watford Gap. Though I think a look of them are French, as on motorways and dual carriageways they prefer to drive on the right.
Do I still have to give a 1.5m space when passing a cyclist in a cycle lane? Some of the cycle lanes are quite small but as far as I’m concerned. If they are in a cycle lane, I can just continue on in my lane and use the entirety of my lane. My reasoning for this is, what is the point of the cycle lane, if I have to swerve out to go round a cyclist anyway that is in one?
Don't understand how learner motor cyclists can operate as a "professional rider" delivering food etc. Don't suppose that bothers them - it's not like they could get business insurance is it !
On the fast-forward vs. music...I'll take the music because I can check out the sights in the area. Being from the USA, I enjoy checking out the fields and buildings in the UK. Your sighs of disgust and disappointment speak volumes!!
The requirement for front number plates for motorbikes and their ilk was abolished in August 1975, just shy of 50 years ago. They MUST NOT be fitted to motorbikes etc. registered on or after 1 September 2001.
24:54 Dog: Oi, see that reflective thing over there on your right? 24:58 Dog: No, your OTHER right 24:59 Driver: Looks at mirror 25:02 Dog: See that car? You nearly hit it. I'm here to press the indicator, not check your mirrors.
Cyclists should be sensible and go single file at a convenient place to allow cars to pass. But the other car drivers in that clip were the main problem - overtaking multiple vehicles at junctions and with excessive speed.
8:20 Cycle Lanes! If I was cycling down there I would only use the sensible sections of cycle lane and ignore all the nonsense lanes, as Cyclists to not have to use them and are entitled to use the road as a road user. This is probably and example of a council feeling it needs to do more for cyclists, but in a very disjointed way that places pedestrians and bus passengers at more risk!
Do you think he'll bother to take it? A lot of people just stay as eternal 'L' riders. They are considering bringing in changes to CBT so that people can't just constantly re-do the CBT when their 'L' riding entitlement runs out after their CBT expires.
In that first clip, while I'm not condoning the speed the other two drivers were doing, but why is that road only a 30mph limit? It's not in a built up area, and I'm guessing it was a much higher limit previously. If speed limits are to be respected they need to be plausible for the road. Otherwise you end up in situations like this, where some drivers stick religiously to the limit for very good reason, and others treat them with disdain as they bear no resemblance to what speeds could be safely driven on the road. I recently ventured within the M25, and there's stonking great dual carriageways with 20 mph limits. So you end up with a convoy of drivers driving inches from each other at 19.5 mph (as they don't want to get snapped by a camera), and others whizzing past at over 50mph (including e-bikes delivering junk food) which is the speed the road was designed for. So you just end up with a more dangerous situation with larger speed differentials and more tailgating.
As 2 lanes come off a roundabout and merge into 1 there does not need to be merge markings on road for the merge rule to apply. Common sense applies, which ever vehicle is in front has priority. The cam car driver in that situation was in the wrong in that situation.
@@scienceexperimentsforhomee261 That is the view you have taken, by doing what the car driver on the right has done is cleared the roundabout, you have taken the point the driver jumped the queue, I take the view the driver did the correct thing by getting off the roundabout and taking the available space then it is simply a merge situation, it is wrong to assume the driver simply tried to jump the queue.
@brianstevenson9967 Perhaps I didn't make it clear. I completely agree with your analysis. What I meant to say was that LDC's driving was atrocious where he pulled ahead of the car to his right just to prove a point. He gets so easily triggered and can never let someone else get the better of him.

"Well they just follow up that ramp now don't they?" - "And where's the parking spaces then?" "Well.. on the ramp of course!" - "That's brilliant! ..." ... - "Wait wtf are the cyclist supposed to d-"

"Who the fuck's driving, you or the dog?" 🤣🤣🤣
14:35 dogs have to have a pet seatbelt on when in the car I believe it’s a new rule. I got one for my dog. Great videos ❤
Not quite. Rule 57 of the Highway Code states that dogs (or any other animal) should be suitably restrained while in a vehicle so they can't distract the driver or cause injury to themselves or others in the event of an accident. This could take the form of a harness, but could equally be a pet cage or a dog guard.
@@DraftySatyr my pet seat belt attaches to my dogs harness works perfectly keeps him safe.
Playing the clip in real time is always better, if people watching, don't wish to wait then let them advance the video using the slider bar. Great clips and hilarious commentary as always.
Agree I like the choice of music added to the moped clip! Had a modern irl Mario kart vibe to it 😂😂😂
6:00 Thanks for highlighting just how crap cycle lanes can be, although I bet many drivers still get pissed off when they see a single cyclist not using that one.
I'm surprised you haven't got a 'No rooms available ' sign on your rear windscreen given how close some idiots tailgate you. It's as if they are trying to move into it.
It's not misuse of a horn, it's the exact intended use of the horn - you're letting her know you're there.
At 23:34, it is a case, as Ashley Neal mentionned a few days ago, of the 4 S: slow, stop, swerve or swear…😉
Trouble is…anyone else on the road makes LDC swear regardless of what they may or may not have done 🤣
(Sorry, couldn’t resist that one…said in the best possible dad joke way @thelondondashcam)
15:33 I think the dog would have done better and not undertake everyone.
you auditioning for Bake Off with a Gordon Ramsay commentary
Thanks for sharing🤗The London Dash Cam 🚕😃👍
The last one with the BMW driver with the dog on her lap, she may one day be in a crash or be spotted by police. She probably doesn't think she is doing anything wrong! Good entertaining video overall. 👍🏾
Enjoying the commentary from Sydney, Australia (currently 11C 52F on this very cold Tuesday morning)
Great video Tony. Sounds like your getting over the man flu - must be all that cake! 👍
@2:50 - he would have had 100% certainty that there were no obstructions in the slip lane as he swooped past and inside the camper van. There is a well shown video of a Ford Focus doing this and it ended VERY badly
22:19 it's an all-ways pedestrian crossing phase, so perfectly safe.
Awesome so funny love it makes my day
Please don't criticise the head bobbing scooter rider. There is a shortage of organ donors. He is doing vital work.
M25/M3, it's worse coming from the M3 eastbound. All lanes apart from the RH lane were stopped trying to join the M25.
After all that cake; but that cycling infrastructure really takes the biscuit.
A definite vote here for "fast forward the boring bits".
I think the dog probably had more idea 😂😂
The tree on the left at 20:45 is impressive, it looks clipped, must be a difficult job
Not only the wrong bus but the word ambulance is the wrong way round, unless of course its a mirror image. 😂
I love the food analogies. Keep it up!
Thank you for sharing another entertaining video Tony. Nice bit of cake, wafers and quackers!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Did I see a mobile tower right next to a petrol station in Kingston?
Hi. My big worry is that all this crazy driving will become "the Normal " as nothing ever gets done about it ! Frosty.
13:37 I wonder what music he was listening too 😂
If I need a company to do some work, I look at how they drive. If I see them driving fine I would turn to them, but if they drive like 💩 they wont get the work 😈😈😈
Yet another brill video...Keep them coming...
Probably all in court debating their collisions with pedestrians.
Ha ha ha
I live just outside London and the male middle aged Lycra cyclists have apparently agreed not to use any of the cycle lanes (due to them “not being regularly swept”) All of the school kids use them religiously as do parents with children. It’s only the middle edged male Lycra anarchists that will ultimately “push” local authorities into legislating for costly registration and control….- Shame on them..
@@jcev39no they are not. -don’t tell fibs.
5:56 last year didnt they spend 36 months "improving" that roundabout, its an a**e coming from Ashford/Feltham direction when you get the german car who doesn't like to keep to 40 or know how to merge in turn.
I read this as “Last year they spend 3 years improving that roundabout”
Do you mean they spent 3 years import that roundabout which finished last year?
congratulations it looks like your council is dafter than ours
OMG.....unbelievable
Can never understand bikes that get up cars arses, (especially in the wet) like do you want to end up on their back seat?
7:32 reminds me, that in one of your early episodes, someone was drivin' an American school bus.
By the same rationale, let's just remove all road markings, signage and traffic lights, just have people use their common sense! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@DraftySatyr It has been tried. e.g.on Calthorpe Street in London Between the Gray's Inn Road and Farringdon Road - they are back now.
The sign at 4:21 is correct as there is only one lane at that moment whereas the sign further up is where the second lane appears so two lane appear on the sign 👍
As for the roundabout, Kingston is an offical diversion route when other roads are closed so more traffic would head that way that wouldn’t usually use the road. Making it appear as a straight on to give the impression that the left lanes should be used. If it was to the right, where the road actually is, then drivers would be in the right hand lanes which is wrong…not that it stops regular users getting it wrong 😉
Additional edit: The left turn arrows are there so the lanes are not confused with those that go straight on through the junction.
I agree with you about the cycle lane. It is badly thought out. Cakes are good. 😂
I am willing to bet that very few cyclists drive "correctly" on that road.
Don't understand how learner motor cyclists can operate as a "professional rider" delivering food etc.
Don't suppose that bothers them - it's not like they could get business insurance is it !
That one at the end. She probably got her driving license from the dog!
On the fast-forward vs. music...I'll take the music because I can check out the sights in the area. Being from the USA, I enjoy checking out the fields and buildings in the UK. Your sighs of disgust and disappointment speak volumes!!
One thing I've never understood is .. why have a a driving test if you're not going to enforce road rules :D
I don’t know how you survived that head bobber on the scooter. 😂
That scooter rider didn’t have a front number plate either.
You are not required to have one on a motorcycle.
24:58 Dog: No, your OTHER right
24:59 Driver: Looks at mirror
25:02 Dog: See that car? You nearly hit it. I'm here to press the indicator, not check your mirrors.
Caught the video on one view 1 minute ago today lol.
Don't understand your reply
@@Howie57 Saw it just as it uploaded. As i clicked on it the video had one view and said uploaded 1 minute ago.
Cyclists should be sensible and go single file at a convenient place to allow cars to pass. But the other car drivers in that clip were the main problem - overtaking multiple vehicles at junctions and with excessive speed.
Numpty social media van lol the scary thing is these people don't think there doing anything wrong 😂
You shouldn't make another driver Stop, Slow, Swerve, Swear, or S*** themself.
the grey fiesta driver lmao
8:20 Cycle Lanes! If I was cycling down there I would only use the sensible sections of cycle lane and ignore all the nonsense lanes, as Cyclists to not have to use them and are entitled to use the road as a road user. This is probably and example of a council feeling it needs to do more for cyclists, but in a very disjointed way that places pedestrians and bus passengers at more risk!
09:00 You know what type of cycle lane that is, don't you? Yes, that's right. It's for Audi cyclists!
So to pass cyclists you need 1.5m.. but coming from the *_opposite_* direction... I guess not? Not like that would hurt more now, would it?
side by side riders have to move to single file to let you past
You have patience of a saint , WISH I WAS YOU ..
Moped looks like he is on a short piece of knicker elastic attached to your back bumper - do you think he'll pas shis test driving like that ?
Do you think he'll bother to take it? A lot of people just stay as eternal 'L' riders. They are considering bringing in changes to CBT so that people can't just constantly re-do the CBT when their 'L' riding entitlement runs out after their CBT expires.
@4:32 In fairness, the Crooked Billet is an utter shit of a roundabout if you’re not used it.
Trouble is, you'll never get LDC to realise that. It was atrocious driving to push ahead just to 'prove' a point.
24:52-25:01 surprised you didn’t yodel!
#19.29 his eyes look closed lol
18:16 - 21:23 could be he has dodgy brakes and is looking for brake assist. [but please FF FFS].
Another nice selection of the usual miscreants and ne’er-do-wells but oddly Audi-free.
If police marksmen were allowed out with paint guns and they could tag the miscreants we’d see a lot more police on the streets. They can’t all be tied up with paperwork.
Why's that cyclist got a polka dot jersey? Has he been in the Tour de France?
No...its a twat alert early warning system
Its an Early Warning TW*T Alert Shirt
9:09 What in the actual f*ck is that??? Peak UK road design. I'd like to be a part of that conversation.
- "Hey Bob?"
"Yeah Billy?"
- "What should we do here? We need some parking spaces but there's a bike lane on this road so we don't have the space for 'em"
"Well, just raise it up, make a ramp to indicate it's separate from the road, to make it clear that it's for parking"
- "Sure, and the bikes?"
"Well they just follow up that ramp now don't they?"
- "And where's the parking spaces then?"
"Well.. on the ramp of course!"
- "That's brilliant! ..."
...
- "Wait wtf are the cyclist supposed to d-"
You should be hitting your brake a bit as a sign to the scooterist to back off.
Fast forward >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The dog lady was perfectly within her rights to perform that manoeuvre, she was in a BMW....
How's the blood pressure?
Preps the reason she had the dog on her lap she had no knickers on😂
@16:17ish Tony the reason you didn't save the front viewing of the cars pulling in ahead of you was you were busy eating cake :)
