Thank you for doing these videos. Just started selling in mid January so I am new to the game. 53 years old and retired early from teaching. Loving it so far. You are really helpful to me.
Thank you so much for your channel. You have inspired me, went from $60/90days to $3200/90days in a few months partially due to your content. Thanks a million! 🙏
i knew NOTHING about any of this until I saw your Part 1. I watched A LOT of your vids and I just got my 9th sale (I just started listing a week ago). Thank you for all you share with us. You are a doing a wonderful thing here.
Thanks for the great content. Been re selling on eBay for just over a year. I have applied a few of your strategies, and started taking eBay more seriously. Went form 100$ per week in payouts to 200-300$ per DAY in payouts, almost instantly. Thanks Jride !🥳
Here is something for your next video. How do you track inventory? Is there software for reselling? Buying at flea markets and yards sales does not yield reciepts in most cases, Thrift stores supply you will a tiny reciept that is non specific. Trying to write the items on them is next to impossible. I buy in lots sometimes and it is hard to designate individual prices. Lastly, what do you count as inventory at year end? Just the inventory you actually listed? How about all the other items you never listed that may be lying around and may or not be listed for various reasons. Do you just count those items as "cost of doing business" or also list as part of inventory?
For one part of your question… I add the cost to the sku number so when I sell something, I can look at the listing and know what I paid for it. If I buy a large lot, like a stack of albums, I just divide it evenly across each album no matter what the real value is of each one.
There is reselling software for listing and for keeping track of costs. I use Sixbit for inventory management and listing and Seller Ledger for financial tracking.
Alot of the new sellers don't know all the tricks and ways you can ship. I laugh when they go out and buy this special box to ship something like a baseball bat. 😂. OK so ebay international shipping is weird.. I have shipped many many items over seas with our own shipping policy. Everything I have used ebays international takes forever to get to destination and wide range of dates. One item, a belt, 6 oz package. Shipped Jan 10th day of sale, tracking on that item says will be delivered Feb 19- March 4th. Custo ers has to wait 4-5 weeks for a quick light package...... Another sale, cast iron pan, yes shipping over seas through ebay was very inexpensive, but sent out Jan 4th and says will arrive Feb 16-27th. Is this what other sellers are seeing with ebay international? 💚✌🏼 Southern Vermont Vintage
Thank you so much I really have learned from you. Started selling cds, ties and sun glasses. Thrift store Wii remote sold in an hour after I cleaned up corrosion as you taught.
Thank you much for your insight advice and honesty. Ive been thinking about selling on ebay and prepping for it for a couple years now and I think I finally have the push to move on with it. Im looking forward for your videos to come.
27:10 - This is a pet peeve of mine, when someone sends an offer that is so lowball that it seems intended to be insulting. A good example of this is being offered silver melt value on a rare coin. There is an urge sometimes to be a little... snarky, shall we say? Sure, that'll work. 😂 It takes a little self-control not to just smash decline, or start raising the price in counter-offers.
J ride, you said kuhl shirts sell through tanked, but I posted 2 kuhl shirts today and sold both within an hour of posting, to two separate buyers . I agree the sell through doesn’t look good, but maybe this spring and summer the velocity will pick back up
Theory here, when you have best offer it's usually have ok half like not in the ball park. Also, I feel psychologically when best offer is on it tells the buyer that your item is over priced...thoughts?
Hi! I'm new here, thank you for all your advice. We got a negative review, and it was totally our fault. The item we thought was factory sealed, and it wasn't. The buyer did not contact us but left bad review and we will refund him. We have 9 positive reviews, and one negative. Will this hurt our sales being this early in our reselling career?
Awesome video thank you for the insights. Every time I watch one of your videos I learn something new and the results show up in my wallet. I still over source and grow my death pile but I am a work in progress
Thank you for the info! I'm using some aspects of your business model for my reselling and have already seen my sales jump 3 fold. Keep the videos coming. Really appreciate them!
Very helpful information thank you. I’m still confused regarding return can you explain more of how free return works? I have been putting 30 day return buyer pay return shipping is that a good strategy to start off? Thank you
This was amazing advice! I don't think I'll ever get anywhere close to that big but I am very happy for you glad to see someone winning that deserves it.
50% of profit. The other half goes to cover expenses (including the cost of goods sold) and also invest in inventory. Example $10 sale plus $5 shipping, no tax Buyer pays $15 total. After shipping and fees, eBay sends you maybe $8.50 $4.25 is yours to buy a sandwich $4.25 goes to business to cover expenses, it also covers the original cost of the $10 item sold, supplies, subscription, and build a nest egg to buy more inventory. I think having 2 accounts to separate out what’s yours and the business’s is smart. Zelle makes it easy to transfer funds to pay yourself. 50% of eBay payout sounds right to me as wages
Wow, so grateful for this thorough and informative video, thank you for taking the time to go through all these different aspects of selling on eBay, it clarifies a lot and will be helpful to many that are intimidated to sell on eBay, keep up the amazing work 👍😊
Some great content again! It can also be applied to wherever a seller lives. I apply lots of methods with a twist and its been working for past year! Its been fun ebaying and doing vids
regarding best offers: what about keeping them OFF for items I have priced for $7? Because if they offer $4 then I'll barely get any profit from selling it? Chaching King said in a video that having best offers on is like saying "pay me less!" -- so to start off by keeping best offers turned off when you first post a listing, then after a week or 2 going back and turning them on to get the item moving...
Hey Jake! Just curious and maybe you mentioned this and I missed it, what determines when you send offers to watchers? Do you send offers only after 60 days, as soon as you get watchers, etc?
It's ok to take less on items to move them faster, even though you make a smaller profit on them. The problem is getting new saleable items to take their place.
Hi there. Great video, and always. Something to share here, and a question ) I visited an ebay store today, to make a purchase from her. She has pretty good stuff, all good brand names for woman clothes. Her store have 650+ items (according to ebay display), and none of the sales as of this month according to her feedback, and only 25 items for the last month. Her prices are lower than average, decent photos she got, offers free 30 day returns - everything I plan doing myself, after listening numerous videos here. I have a great sourcing store nearby, and excited... but, after seeing a store of my dream that is not selling.... made me really confused - why would that happened to a good by YT specialists shop to suffer lack of sales?
with shipping policies: calculated shipping- what about using poly mailers? should I still put 12x12x12? ive just been putting the exact dimensions of the mailer of 9x12x1
I don’t know if you’ll be able to see this but I just looked at my eBay items I have up and I don’t know how to turn the promoting it gives you whatever it said promoting at I think 16 how do I put it at 2% like we talked about
I get lowering prices on items that have not sold for a period of time. However, I would think that if a Seller allows Offers (which I do), instead of passing on items a potential buyer feels is priced too high, why wouldn't he just make an offer? I'm guessing the answer is that they just don't like to haggle / Don't have the time to haggle / Are uncomfortable with hagglng??
I've heard others and pretty sure you as well, say - to NOT choose a shipping option that doesn't match the category your item falls into (ex. choosing media mail for something that isn't actually media mail) But when talking about shipping large heavy items in this video you say to enter 12x12x12 or 12x12x14 for items that AREN'T actually that size - to get cheaper shipping prices. So do we lie to cheat the system and benefit or do we not?
Dimensions on the listing can be whatever you want them to be. When you purchase the label you enter the actual weight and dimensions, that's all that matters. There's no cheating, just a strategy.
@@JrideFlipsAh I see, you were talking about when you do calculated shipping, you enter those measurements because eBay estimation is inaccurate. I don't see the reason to do calculated shipping at all so I'm all good
As far as the de-list re-list strategy, do you recommend that as opposed to end listing and sell similar? I have heard that is one way to do it, let me know your thoughts.
I was going to ask the same question, still a bit confused on the answer. Do you list as new after delisting and changing price, or do you not list as new and instead chose re list? Any idea why one would be preferred over the other one? Many thanks! Loving your videos, found you recently, and already changed what I buy. Grabbed a working Chinon camera in Goodwill last week for $7.99, a huge Santa snow globe that goes for $100+ for $6.99, a Stanely thermos, a mini Shark, and a few more items I saw you suggest. I know nothing about any of these things, but they all worked and here we go! Much to learn, love it! Thank you! ;)@@JrideFlips
@@FromWritertoReseller thank you, but I live near the tiny town of Harmon Oklahoma, pop of 6 people. The next closest town of 600 people is 22 miles, we have a Dollar Genera, feed/farm store & 1 quick trip. We can't even buy gas or anything after 10pm. Nobody near here sells on Craigslist & 99% of whom do, won't ship. There's no flea markets, maybe a handful of Estate sales in a year, but everything worth having or small enough to ship has already been taken by the family & I don't blame them. We occasionally have a farm auction, selling farm equipment 😂. Dude it's tough to make a living here but I wouldn't live anywhere else! I thank God for the wind turbines that a few got on their land (I wasn't one of them). We have very few abandoned houses that their kids moved away before their parents passed away & they want nothing out of the old farm house & barns. Those are the best, I love going through them, reading love letters from the civil war, all wars & finding pristine handmade quilts for the 1800's, antique toys, dishes & tools... Of course those things are the hardest for me to part with. It makes me feel like I'm selling a piece of my heart... Anyhoo, I appreciate you very much and thank you for sharing your journey & knowledge, I've learned a lot & learning more everyday. As soon as I get brave enough, I'm going to start a TH-cam channel about my journey and my treasure hunting/finding. I have a few videos from years ago of my friend & I treasure hunting in an old abandoned house that had a painted sign on the front door saying "DO NOT ENTER, CONDEMNED BY DEMONS!" So we got permission from the owner to go inside & have whatever we wanted. Good times right there!! I should write a book, but most wouldn't believe my incredible journey & reduce it to trivial, their loss I suppose. Anyhoo, please forgive me for rambling, have a wonderful day & I pray God continues to bless you and your family!
In the 12x12x12 example you say that a dimension of your large (receiver) item is 12” when it’s really 15”? How does that not get rejected? Or do you get charged for the difference?
I think he was talking about the dimensions so eBay could calculate shipping, but then put in the correct measurements when buying the label. Hopefully he corrects me if I am wrong.
Hello Jride have a question. I sold a receiver that measures 16.5"×16 3/4×7 3/4 I did flat rate $64 shipping. The method your described works only for calculated. Do you think I'm going to have to pay additional for shipping. It's my first receiver I'm shipping and I have till tomorrow to ship it. Any advice please
It seems like you always say “free returns” or “no returns” and say how one is better than the other, but you don’t cover buyer paying for returns and whether you still get the same protections as free returns or not.
I accept returns but someone opened an inad and I still had to pay the shipping. I called ebay and they said because it was an inad I had to pay. Second person said I didn't have to pay shipping so they gave it back. 3 months later they took that shipping money away from me. I gave up. I'm so confused. The last ebay person I talked to said that because it was an inad even tho I accept returns I had to pay shipping so I opened a fraudulent case against him and never heard anything back, so is it true that If they open an inad and you accept returns that you have to pay shipping?
🤔 hmmm … so you’re saying enter 12x12x12 for bulky items even if the item is larger? There’s another flipper that shipped a golf club and because the actual size was 2” more than he indicated he got hit with a $35 overage fee slapped on
How does this work if it is an international buyer? Do they get recharged for the actual size once the item gets to eBay's international shipping hub?@@JrideFlips
Just wanted to point out that fast sell through or massive volume of slower selling items aren't the only two choices. I sell mostly commercial and industrial items and focus on finding large lots and big home runs at auctions. Sell through isn't a huge factor for me since there are usually only a few active listings, though I do like to see some sales history. If the ROI is big enough I will buy and put up stuff with no solds. It's been working well for me. I might be sitting on them for a year but it's a big payday when something sells.
When you use the 12x12x14 shipment option example for a receiver when you go to actually ship it do you put the correct measurements in or just use the 12x12x14?
@@HoboInMySoks When ever I ship a large item I have been putting in the measurements a bit larger then I think they will be packed and have it calculate the shipping before I list it. That way you do not loose any money shipping.
Does it work it have the charger? “No you can have it for $7 Does it work? “I’m not sure take it for $5” Does it have the Sd card and is formatted? “I have no idea you know what Just take it for free”
Used yo be so. But lately (last 5 years especially) tyey people unloading storage locket auctions etc seem to be scimming most of the creme before taking it to a swap meet etc. the word is out how easy it os to flip on eBay. Unfortunately criminals know too, which is bringing all kinds of regulation and taxes down on all sellers. Someone must have a deal with thrift stores in my area. All i find ate empty boxex someone stole the camera out of. 50:cameras! Not at all the thrift storesbin all the countym
All you have to be is a top rated seller and you get buyer protection...you don't have to have free returns. That is a myth. Top rated seller comes from being good..getting things out on time..etc.
I don't get it do you work for the company? Or do they give you some type of kick back? You're so pro eBay is odd. Why would you be telling people to join a failing website?? 🙄

Are you relisting or selling similar? The result is different. Relist launches the same item. Selling similar is actually creating a new listing.
Wondering the same thing
What’s your eBay store name ?
There’s another flipper that shipped a golf club and because the actual size was 2” more than he indicated he got hit with a $35 overage fee slapped on
You set 12x12x12 to give a fair rate to the buyer and once it sells you out the actual measurements
How does this work if it is an international buyer? Do they get recharged for the actual size once the item gets to eBay's international shipping hub?@@JrideFlips
But then you lost money paying more for shipping, why not just lower the price of the item? Same difference? Idk lol
2 vacations every day? wow that is a great card! LOL
Year.. lol
I think there's more money in promoting ebay than doing ebay.
These people definitely work for the company or get some type of kick back. They are almost never honest. 🙄
Nope. I’ve been watching JRide awhile and he’s the real deal.
@AK36677 where is the lie? 🤔
I love this guy
😂😂😂 true if you're good but yeah eBay is easy money.
Regular flat rate envelope now $7.99 😊
@@FromWritertoReseller maybe mine is less because I'm Top Rated Plus, but my regular flat rate envelope is 7.99. 👍
No you change them to the actual measurements
But doesn't that raise the cost to ship? Because the box is bigger than in the listing?
@@HoboInMySoks When ever I ship a large item I have been putting in the measurements a bit larger then I think they will be packed and have it calculate the shipping before I list it. That way you do not loose any money shipping.
I’m curious though why do people like those old cameras? That the peole who sold haven’t used in 20 years 😊
Does it work it have the charger? “No you can have it for $7
Does it work?
“I’m not sure take it for $5”
Does it have the Sd card and is formatted?
“I have no idea you know what Just take it for free”
Main take away, don't hire a sorcerer. Bullet dodged. Big thanks
Great sell through! Rocking! ❤
I recommend hiring a sorcerer 😅
Thank you.
Do you need a business account to create those shipping policies?
good video i need to get my taxes in a row
All you have to be is a top rated seller and you get buyer protection...you don't have to have free returns. That is a myth. Top rated seller comes from being good..getting things out on time..etc.
Sorry I mean seller protections...
Also, if you do the 1/2 they can dispute and eBay will still end up siding with buyer...
If you're 28, how is it you have had an ebay channel since 2007? Am I the only one that noticed this uncertainty? 🤔
Where did it say I’ve had an account since 2007?
Another excellent video. I will be buying Polly bags through your link too. Least I can do man. Well done.
Am I the only one who doesn't even consider promoted sales?
Nothing better than haggling at a garage sale

He goes on 2 vacations every DAY?????
I don't get it do you work for the company? Or do they give you some type of kick back? You're so pro eBay is odd. Why would you be telling people to join a failing website?? 🙄
You’ve been drinking to much conspiracy koolaid a lot of people make a ton of money on eBay. Focus on fast sell through rate items and change your life!
You don’t know obviously. Sold a couple hundred in sneakers just today.
Dumpster Diver. 😅 May also find something to sell 😂
Thank you so much for such awesome information!
Will you pretty please fix your chair? The neurodivergent among us (like maybe me) can become unreasonably enraged by superfluous sounds. You may be losing followers who would ordinarily enjoy your information. Obviously I don’t “expect” you to but it would be awesome if you did. Personally I may end up not watching office posts to manage my exploding brain.
WD40 for the noisy chair Perhaps.?🫤
