'Also like to get out early with the dogs, especially now the hot days are here.
    Jacko's standing proud!
When I see him with his mouth wide open like that, I hear him braying Yeee Haw!

Yes sir. Long history with the Schrade’ connection etc. thousands of survivors. Old imperials & hammer brand’s from the 1950s thru 70s are probably the most common old slip joints you run across in antique, pawns,Thrift & yard sale flea markets

6:32 Isn't that like the one Kevin found? Man it is definitely beautiful!

I believe so Reggie. I know Kevin recently found a Real sweet Imperial Bone Scout/Camp folder with the Badge. I think ? He also picked up a Bone Easy opener while back too.

@@CuttingEdgetoolsThe easy open was the one that I was referring to. I remember buying a present for a 2nd grade birthday party, at White County Central school, in rural Arkansas, North of Searcy, and I purchased the present at Fred's dollar store for 1.50 , it was an Imperial Barlow.

@@reggieheidelberg2363 Yes I thought so. I don’t believe Imperial made that pattern after the War. I don’t ever remember running across an Imperial Easy opener with Plastic or Delrin’ scales . I believe imperial produced some Bone utility knives during WW-2. During the Post War period it seems the Jigged Bone imperial ‘s were no longer made. Cool you remember buying that imperial Barlow back in the Day👍

I think it may have been Colonial that first introduced the hollow bolsters with the tab, on slip joint pocket knives. (Don't quote me... ;)
I have a few and some of them do indeed have a good quality feel and snap.
Nowadays even the cheapest Rough Ryder has solid bolsters, which certainly speaks to the modern availability of raw materials trumping such an materialistically efficient and lightweight solution.
Surely the hollow bolsters was also a step on the road to George Schrade's entirely hollow scales with fake bolsters - and tabs - that housed the mechanisms of the world's first automatic knives?
    🐴 Hey Jacko?! Haw, haw!

@@CuttingEdgetools My pleasure! Your videos get me going. Hence I'm saving the scales replacement series for the right moment with my big XX 60's red bone Barlow.
I have posted one short video of the Singer 'Cello and one of an Imperial fixie like yours plus the original guard - 'tagged you on the latter :D
