😮 Love that fighting knife! Dwayne your killing me here! Lol Beautiful..
Mannnnn I bet you were like no way finally found the maker !!! Extremely cool and congratulations Buddy
Thanks for sharing. More research needs to be done. But I believe the knifes roots are connected to one of those Colonial New England Skinners.
Love the old knives. I buy a lot of old ones too butcher knives. Axes and hatchets old hand sickels and corn knives and tobacco knives. Keep up the good work love the channel.
Thanks Gary!
Google "The Skinner Tavern" AKA (Skinner's Inn) in Franklin County, PA. It was mentioned by noneother than George Washington in a letter to Alexander Hamilton. Being alongside the main and only road in the vicinity at the time it's likely to have had a full time blacksmith on the premises. A good friend had property just down the road a piece in Upper Horse Valley. Area loaded with history as it is very close to Chambersburg, Shippensburg, and most importantly Gettysburg. Twenty plus years of good memories there! Love the videos, keep em comin.
Wow. Thanks for sharing this!!! Really appreciate it. Definitely a good road to go down 👍 Best! Dwayne
Man I love this channel.
So cool
Just an awesome fighter my friend. Love the diamond gaurd. Kinda has a Dixie flare. Good video
Thanks for sharing. It is a Old one. I always felt it possibly was made around the War of 1812’ time period . I have compared it to photos of other big fighting Rifleman knives that were made by Early Gunsmiths and Blacksmith’s of the Kentucky/Pennsylvania Rifle period . I believe it likely is. Abner’ Skinner Jacobs father was a Revolutionary war soldier and a Blacksmith as well. Pretty sure it was crafted by one of those Skinner Kinsmen.
there is a John Skinner on u tube, he does fishing videos out of Long Island NY
There is a very old Book called - Skinner’ Kinsmen’. It chronicles this particular Skinner family that goes way back to early mid 1600s . Very prominent family in Early New England. I have found few other Skinner’s in few other states that were likely descended from the original Colonial America Skinner family.
Awesome Video Mr. Dewayne! So much history that is still being uncovered on a daily basis! We learn something new every day.
Thanks. Appreciate it. Best! Dwayne
Modest my arse lol . Skinner English Shefield perhaps !
Thanks for Sharing. Appreciate it
Always excellent man.
Love your channel. Those old knives are beautiful. The naval dagger is awesome. We weren't allowed to carry anything like that when I was in the Navy or i would have 💯👍🏻⚓🇺🇲🇺🇲

Greetings. Thanks for watching and sharing
Another awesome video
Love those daggers! But that little one just blows my mind! It's probably because I'm from New England.
Thanks Brian. Appreciate it. The handle is definitely Whale’ Bone. I have several antique whale bone carvings and the tiny carved handle is a dead match. New England area is ripe with History and beautiful too!!! Best! Dwayne
@CuttingEdgetools Thank you! For sharing Dwayne. Yes, New England has so much history and also a whaleing history . I would love to see those ivory. God bless!
I greatly appreciate the kind words brother, honor gratitude respect. Some cool daggers you have, especially the whale bone/tooth. Hey speaking of which I recommend you go to the Nantucket library when you get to the whaling museum they have some cool pieces as well.
Hey Brother welcome. Boy that Library museum is on our bucket list. Best! Dwayne

Hi mate, I want to send you an outdoor knives for review, if possible, What's your email?
It always looks like a bit of an oddity to me, neither fish nor fowl. I certainly could not imagine using one or being very comfortable with it. What you call a "brush hook" is usually referred to as a bill hook over hear and as with the Italian example the shape is useful, but the woodsman's pal has such a tiny hook and not a very long edge on it. I can't think what the D guard is really for either, other than getting in the way. Still I suppose if they were issued, they must have had some utility and it would be interesting to see the manual. The modification looks much more useable.
Thanks for sharing. D Guard handles are designed for fighting. Most Swords going back centuries sported them. Some military fighting knives did also. For hand to hand combat. D -Guard Bowie knives during civil War . My take on it is the W Pal concept was designed as a large fighting tool/knife machete that could be a trench tool with its wide flat scoop end. A soldier in a pinch could scoop out a Fox hole. Best! Dwayne
@@CuttingEdgetools British Army had their specialist tools too, including the Martindale Golok (of which there are a lot of inferior imitations) and the Jungle Survival tool (which I think is another curates egg) from my favourite Sheffield manufacturers. With a bolo style blade you can definitely cut a small tree down without bending the laws of physics.
@ awesome. Really appreciate you sharing some history from the region 👍
Excellent work
And whatnot.....
I carry all kinds of big knives.
Neat that these were made in same city as the heavy duty steel Reading truck beds in Reading Pa. It’s still a large prosperous city, precariously perched on the rust belt, hanging on. I’ve wanted one of these pals since I saw one my buddy had…30 years ago !
If I happen on another original. I’ll let ya know
