Silly goofy me! I forgot to mention battery life. The battery on these consistently outlasts my Quest 3/session playtime. I tend to get around 7-8 hours on each tracker

You can actually get away with the whole figure-8 calibration by using an alternative version of Space Calibrator by BD Underscore, where it uses "continuous calibration" to automatically calibrate your playspace, assuming you have another tracker attached onto your headset.
It's an essential piece of software that I would highly recommend to anyone using a Quest platform for PCVR FBT.

Hi, overall a great review, just a few points:
    - having to re-do calibration : that is probably from the Quest headset re-making its own playspace, therefore it is a new playspace that needs to be calibrated again. I keep the same calibration for months
    - "facing your computer" : it does not need to be your computer, but "the front of your playspace", as in "where you would be looking the most when you are playing". Same thing when you start mapping, it does not need to aim at your physical computer

I got them about two months ago. I have a really small play area and they tend to work really well most of the time, though I have noticed some jittering if they can't see much color. One way I've heard to get around these tracking issues is to have things like art pieces hung up on the wall, which may be a little annoying if you have just a blank room, but for me I have enough stuff and I already make art anyway so I can just use that to work around these issues. My initial setup wasn't too bad either, and these do work exceptionally well once it's all good. I still have yet to figure out how to fix one issue though, and that comes from sitting down so the trackers on my feet only mostly see my white ceiling. When this happens they sometimes lose tracking.
Also for the calibration figure 8, I just do it once at the beginning and only with a single tracker before even putting them on my body. Never needed to recalibrate during a session.

The Vive Utlimate trackers have the main problem that they dont like Cold White light at least for me. If I use Warm White light everything is running very good but if i switch to Cold White light it gets a lot worse. And a little Tipp if you want to have good Tracking with these you should use standable full body estimation so you can use Mixed tracking its very good. Yea I undestand that making your first maps can be very annoying but its worth it overall. (at least for me :] )

Ivy... do I need to remind that using figure 8 to give exact distance and bearing is the bread of butter of bees?
So my conclusion is that they have to work a bit more on the tracking software in poor lighting condition and adjust the calibration process to be more precise.

See i live in an apartment and i really dont want to deal with the whole messy set up for 3.0 trackers so when i first saw these i got all excited and planned to get them but the reviews…. The amount of issues it has😭 i have never had fbt before and these seemed worth it till now. I just dont want to deal with buying all the extra things needed for the 3.0 trackers (base stations, base mounts, straps, etc). But that may be my only choice

i personally do not wish to go through spending 1k on lighthouse tracking and neither do i think i would bother with slime/mocopi as they also require a lot of messing around to work
any idea how these hold up against slime/mocopi in terms of trickyness to use?

slimes are actually pretty good with tracking, mine track my body with relative accuracy, sometimes my feet can be off maybe by 5 inches or so (which for me is alot because im a perfectionist when it comes to tracking) other than the good tracking the constant recalibration can be a pain in the ass recalibrating maybe every 10-20 minutes for me, it could be because i have older trackers as ive heard the new ones dont have that issue (youll need to recalibrate every hour with brand new ones)

That way you don’t have to figure eight controllers, but they definitely are work in progress and seem to have the hardware in them to continuously improve. Vive messed up on the XR Elite and made the hardware so limited that although software is so much better now, the hardware just can’t keep up, hoping vive did things right here.

    2:52 "Once per session"
...That alone is too much. I'd prefer 'once and you're done' (aka the tracking data is saved).
Doing the dumb figure 8, every time I wish to play VRChat, feels stupid. And what if the program crashes? It'll likely be seen as another session.
    Hard pass, Vive.

Yeah, there needs to be a better way to calibrate, other than the figure-8 with Open VR Space Calibrator. It's a total pain, every single time, even with Vive 3.0's. And even when you spend all that time calibrating and setting up, like you mentioned, then don't even align correctly in virtual space. They are almost always off by like 6 inches. It's infuriating and on top of that, they drift throughout a session and your avi body bends in half and flies away, constantly with this whole whiplash/ rubber band-type motion. Vive needs to finally integrate native software for Quest systems 2 and 3. I've had FBT for like 2 years and I never use it, because it's so jank. Also, when you put the controllers down by the waist tracker it causes your avi to totally spazz out. It's not worth the hassle most of the time. I'll wait until they fully support these and get everything ironed out.

Why not 2 SteamVR 2.0 base stations and 3 Vive 2.0 or Tundra pucks for the same cost? You’d still do figure eights but never lose tracking as long as your play area is clear of occlusions.

yea if you're looking to get into the tracking game, or upgrade to ultimate trackers, don't. They're by far the WORST trackers iv ever used, and for 600 dollars you can just get tundra's or the vive 3.0's with base stations included and get the same or even better tracking quality. I don't know who is setting the prices over there but they need to be fired, genuinely. Basic movement with the ultimate's seem like a task, if you move in the wrong way say goodbye to the tracking, it get's considerably worse at night time too, honestly feels like IMU'S using them.
So if you want FBT, I strongly suggest tundra's or vive 3.0s, easy to set up, reliable and is what most "VR enthusiasts" use across the board, don't waste your time and money on ultimate's.

The one time I managed to get them into a ready state I immediately lost tracking once I got them on my legs and hip and could not regain them even after holding them to my computer. these things are just a nightmare to use and I can't even get them into a state where they're even remotely ready to enter VR with.
Would not recommend, I couldn't even get them to work on the most basic level.

Total amount of "track" related words said: 41
    Tracker: 9x(+1)
    Trackers: 10x
    Tracking: 19x
    Track: 3x
    Extra info:
One "track" was actually part of "re-track", which people may consider a different word because of the hyphen.
One "tracking" was part of "self-tracking", which once again may be seen as a different word.
The +1 next to "tracker" was included from the comment Ivycomb left themselves on the video, but I thought it should count but still be pointed out.
The word "tracks" also did not show up in the video at all.
Tracking was the most used "track" word, with trackers and tracker being second and third respectively. (They are tied if you include the "tracker" in Ivycomb's comment.) While "tracker" and "tracking" were battling for the top spot throughout the first half of the video, "tracking" far overtakes it in the second half of the video.
