What if like Zoan type having multiple models of the same fruit, Roger had a Paramecia model of Doflamingo’s string Devil Fruit, the Ito Ito nomi, except Rogers is the Ito Ito Nomi Model Hair. Aka, Roger can control string, but he can control and manipulate all the hair on his body, specifically his nose hair that Oda later redoes into a moustache. Now imagine this as a fighting style, Roger holding a sword in either hand, two-sword style, and then all of a sudden his moustache starts moving and grabs two smaller swords, for a badass four-sword style.
Remm If this theory ends up being true then that's some big inconsistency on Oda's part. He's an amazing writer. He wouldn't have his main character have the same power as the former pirate king without it being hinted at.

Idk if he will mention this because I haven't finished the video. But walking to his execution in Lougetown, Roger was wearing WOODEN handcuffs instead of sea prism. So he probably didn't have a fruit. Plus, according to Lucky Roo, the red haired pirates actually raided a pirate ship for the Gomu Gomu no Mi, so Shanks was probably not waiting for Roger to die with a bunch of fruits and keep it for hella long time until Luffy eats it.

Maybe Rodger had eaten the devil fruit, and the closest fruit to Rodger when he died was on an enemy ship, then after he died, the crew invaded that ship and stole the Gum-Gum Fruit. PS: When an owner of a fruit dies, the nearest fruit becomes that fruit. Say Luffy dies in front of an apple, for example, that apple would become the Gum-Gum Fruit. Therefore, when Rodger died, and an enemy ship had a fruit in, that fruit became the Gum-Gum Fruit. Or perhaps, they left that ship alone because they didn't know it was there. Then, when Shanks got his own crew, he found the ship and raided it. Then he brought the devil fruit to Luffy's hometown, then Luffy ate it.

I can legit see Oda writing Roger to have the Gomu Gomu No Mi and literally have it be a joke that he NEVER used it because at some point he was in some giant swimming contest with Rayleigh and accidentally ate the fruit and lost his ability to swim, but because of that he just never used it so that everyone THOUGHT he didn't have a fruit ability and that he could still beat Rayleigh in a race. I can see it being all just a huge inside joke. I also personally subscribe to the idea that Shanks's expedition that led him to Fuchsia Village was to GET the Gomu Gomu No Mi and that he was taking a break and relaxing there after locating it.

I looked at the wiki for Roger, and the pictures on there right in the beginning remind me A LOT of Blackbeard. Like put the teeth back, clean up the beard, and their smiles look a lot alike, same with when they are yelling. What if Blackbeard was a secret son of Roger, like from when he was younger (he had Ace when he was like 50 so he could have had one before that). This could be why Shanks knew of Blackbeard even before he got the Yami Yami no mi, and said he was already very dangerous. Also could be why Blackbeard was crying as a child, why he has such an obsession with being the King Of the Pirates, etc. Seriously, why else would Shanks of all people have known about him, and was even hurt pretty badly by him way before he had the Yami Yami no mi....

My issue with your debunking of this Theory, not that I'm saying that I hold this theory as I hadn't even heard of it until I saw your video, but my issue is that you're presuming that Rodger would have eaten the double fruit. The first time we saw the devil fruit in question, Shanks kept it in a chest. There was no mention at least in the anime of Shanks being willing to eat it or what they were even planning to do with it. So here I'm positing an addendum to the theory that it's not so much that Rodger ate the devil fruit but had it for some purpose such as rewarding a loyal crew member with. But you are correct in that there's been no evidence that Rodger even held a devil fruit in a chest or in his hands or in a sack or had one in his possession at all, other than that the devil fruits are one of the most sought-after prices in some circles and Rodger was known to have had fame, fortune and everything people want, leaving at least the possibility that he had at least one devil fruit in his horde if for no other reason than to say I have devil fruit, do you want it?
I have a theory(or more): One Piece is like our world, but more like Water World. our world, Flooded in the far future. We played God with creatures and made new ones and messed up the environment. And made the Devil Fruit to create super powers to control and use as super humans. Vegapunk was a survivor of the future, probably kept on a machine, to keep him alive and kicking. Portals connected to Toriko and Dragonball Z Universe, explains the technology Whitebeard had to keep him alive. (Those are theories of mine. I don't know if it could be true, but they are theories of mine, I thought up as I saw the One Piece map and world.)

i know people have their fantasies about shanks but what other real role in the story will he play in the future? right now, shanks and ace have the same role. a powerful person that luffy respects and looks up to and needs in his life but only sits in the background of the story. and if you believe the theory that one piece is repeating itself, then it's further evidence that shanks will fight BB and lose. he can't win because of plot purposes.

Here’s my theory behind Roger’s devil fruit.
What if like Zoan type having multiple models of the same fruit, Roger had a Paramecia model of Doflamingo’s string Devil Fruit, the Ito Ito nomi, except Rogers is the Ito Ito Nomi Model Hair.
Aka, Roger can control string, but he can control and manipulate all the hair on his body, specifically his nose hair that Oda later redoes into a moustache.
Now imagine this as a fighting style, Roger holding a sword in either hand, two-sword style, and then all of a sudden his moustache starts moving and grabs two smaller swords, for a badass four-sword style.

Maybe Rodger had eaten the devil fruit, and the closest fruit to Rodger when he died was on an enemy ship, then after he died, the crew invaded that ship and stole the Gum-Gum Fruit.
PS: When an owner of a fruit dies, the nearest fruit becomes that fruit. Say Luffy dies in front of an apple, for example, that apple would become the Gum-Gum Fruit. Therefore, when Rodger died, and an enemy ship had a fruit in, that fruit became the Gum-Gum Fruit. Or perhaps, they left that ship alone because they didn't know it was there. Then, when Shanks got his own crew, he found the ship and raided it. Then he brought the devil fruit to Luffy's hometown, then Luffy ate it.

I can legit see Oda writing Roger to have the Gomu Gomu No Mi and literally have it be a joke that he NEVER used it because at some point he was in some giant swimming contest with Rayleigh and accidentally ate the fruit and lost his ability to swim, but because of that he just never used it so that everyone THOUGHT he didn't have a fruit ability and that he could still beat Rayleigh in a race.
I can see it being all just a huge inside joke.

I looked at the wiki for Roger, and the pictures on there right in the beginning remind me A LOT of Blackbeard. Like put the teeth back, clean up the beard, and their smiles look a lot alike, same with when they are yelling. What if Blackbeard was a secret son of Roger, like from when he was younger (he had Ace when he was like 50 so he could have had one before that). This could be why Shanks knew of Blackbeard even before he got the Yami Yami no mi, and said he was already very dangerous. Also could be why Blackbeard was crying as a child, why he has such an obsession with being the King Of the Pirates, etc. Seriously, why else would Shanks of all people have known about him, and was even hurt pretty badly by him way before he had the Yami Yami no mi....

My issue with your debunking of this Theory, not that I'm saying that I hold this theory as I hadn't even heard of it until I saw your video, but my issue is that you're presuming that Rodger would have eaten the double fruit. The first time we saw the devil fruit in question, Shanks kept it in a chest. There was no mention at least in the anime of Shanks being willing to eat it or what they were even planning to do with it. So here I'm positing an addendum to the theory that it's not so much that Rodger ate the devil fruit but had it for some purpose such as rewarding a loyal crew member with. But you are correct in that there's been no evidence that Rodger even held a devil fruit in a chest or in his hands or in a sack or had one in his possession at all, other than that the devil fruits are one of the most sought-after prices in some circles and Rodger was known to have had fame, fortune and everything people want, leaving at least the possibility that he had at least one devil fruit in his horde if for no other reason than to say I have devil fruit, do you want it?
