    "first, i knew nothing about sales...then 100 calls later..." DUDE this is like watching Alex Hormozi all over again! I am on my way to start offering my services as a data Analyst on Upwork by the end of the month. Thomas, you have been an inspiration to me.

    On reading books. I used to only read non-fiction (or try to lol), but this past year I've started reading several good fiction books and I've been very moved by the profound feelings they stirred in me. Good fiction writing is an act of mutual communication that you really can't get outside of very close friends or lovers. It reminds you that people are exactly the same as you and completely different at the same time.
    I've found that I like semi-autobiographical novels about people who lead very different lives from me. Junky by Burroughs and Stone Butch Blues by Feinman were both excellent (the latter is available for free online).
    I was also suprised by how time efficient it was. With nonfiction you're trying to focus on retaining information but with fiction all you have to do is absorb the story. I found I could easily read 50-80 pages in a single sitting which I'd never do with any nonfiction work.
    Anyways, it could make for a good emotional outlet if work is getting you down.

    Hi Tom, excellent advice, also if you are young reading this or you are a parent, the best thing you can ever do is to either get a job serving the public (on tills/checkout/counter) preferably in small independent shops or get your children to get a job like this - the earlier the age, the better, it will teach them everything they need to know about people and sales.
    Best lessons I ever got for life was the lessons I got from gaining experience like this, it also gives you conversational abilities and teaches you the different personality types of people that exist in the world and how to adapt to each of them. This stuff is priceless.
    The best part? They are paying YOU whilst you also get this FREE EDUCATION.

    A book I'm reading that I have found really interesting so far (Only on chapter 5) is "Never Split The Difference" By Chris Voss. It is a negotiating book, not a sales book but saying similar things to what you said.

    Hey Thomas, loving your videos. Very inspiring and insightful. I have been in a financial crunch and trying for the past 2 years to get out of this situation that I'm in. You mentioned that you want to give away your TH-cam earnings. I'm not the kind to ask for help (and that's why most people around me don't think I need any help) but I could really use some extra cash to try to get out of the situation I'm stuck in for quite a while now. I know this sounds too needy and desperate, but just putting it out there. If you don't that's totally fine as well. Will continue to keep watching and learning from you anyways, cheers :)

    A good sales book i would recommend is by Michael Oliver and is called "How to Sell Network Marketing Without Fear, Anxiety Or Losing Your Friends! Selling from the Soul. Ancient Wisdoms. Modern Practise" . He kind of agrees with you in a way, like about selling being natural and conversational

    That was some top-notch advice, especially the silence part. That was the one golden gem of information that I really needed right now. Thanks. Do you think that's true even for just conversations in general, not just in sales?

    Hello, I’m a preschool teacher. I absolutely love my job. The only problem is the money. I’m only 22 and have thought about going back to school getting full teachers credentials and bachelors degree to teach at a higher level and get paid a bit more. However, I don’t want to go to a career just for money. I want to genuinely learn how to make money. I don’t want to scam people but rather be smart and build connections and learn to put my money to work. I would love to have a 1:1 with you to learn because I struggle so much with starting. It feels overwhelming and scary to think about making a side hustle and business

    • @kora4185
      @kora4185 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You could still teach. I don’t think there’s a better time to start teaching actually. I unfortunately loathed school as if they were torturing me there, and I’m in a few online courses now and I’m absolutely loving it, and by my counts they’re making a LOT (!) of money.
      I really think online mentoring is the future of education, especially because our generation has a terrible attention spam and online courses are very to the point and the dynamic is so hyper and freeing (but at the same time you feel so guided and supported by likeminded people).
      And if you like in person classes there’s other types of non traditional teachings spaces that could bring you more money. Like, my sister regularly goes to this summer camp for adults where the hostess is a former HS psychology teacher, and they basically read books and she teaches them what she loves still (but now to young women who want to listen), so that may inspire some ideas :)
      Humans love to learn more than anything, we just need better ways and spaces that make us not develop hatred for something so great, and teachers who love to do it and are free to do it in their way too.
      Now that we’re not as bound to one single place anymore, there’s so many opportunities to teach, that truly help out people more. I think all you gotta do is know what you want to teach and how (and to who), a good plan, and to market yourself properly (which isn’t always easy but there’s many people who can do that for you just fine). _Excuse my english and how long this was jeez_
