    I list the top 5 things I love about the 2021 Mookie Betts Game Model MB50. I also state two things I didn't like about this year's model. Let me know what you liked or didn't like about the glove in the comment section!
    Mookie Betts and his all-new A2K MB50 GM were built for the bright lights. Featuring Black Pro Stock Select Leather, White and Royal SuperSkin and a reimagined Bold Logo package, this 12.5" model is a bit smaller than traditional outfield gloves, giving you more control as you run down balls in the alley and make highlight reel grabs.
    Pro Stock™ Select Leather: No leather in the game today compares to our Pro Stock™ Select leather. We triple-sort our leather hides for consistency and flawlessness, using only our top 5% of hides when crafting our A2K® gloves.
    SuperSkin™ is a microfiber material that’s half the weight of Pro Stock Leather, but twice as durable. Its moisture-resistant design extends the longevity of the glove, and is easier to clean than traditional leather.
    Double Palm Construction: A thin, perfectly shaped piece of leather placed between the palm liner and the outer shell enhances pocket stability. It also reduces the wrinkles in the palm of your glove, reducing the rebound on balls that hit your glove and providing a longer-lasting shape.
    ComfortPro™ Fit: Featuring our ProLux™ Leather, the liner of the redesigned A2000 has a richer, softer feel against your hand. The all-new Comfort Sleeve is the finishing touch, conceling the binding in the wrist for more comfort than ever before.
    Bold Logos: Bold logos strip away the distractions, allowing outlined, eye-catching Wilson logos to announce a new era in the iconic story of the A2K and A2000.
    12.5"
    Dual Post Web
    White and Royal Blue SuperSkin - twice as strong as regular leather, but half the weight
    Black Pro Stock Select Leather, chosen for its consistency and flawlessness
    Rolled Dual Welting™ for long-lasting shape and quicker break-in
    Double palm construction, providing maximum pocket stability
    Three times more shaping to help reduce break-in time

      It was quite noticeable for me because my pinky and ring fingers weren't getting dug into by the binding. haha.

    I’m willing to bet the majority of the price difference from A2k vs A2000 comes from the labor in Japan and extra forming instead of the select leather hence no price drop from super skin.

    Update: Glove came today and I have a few thoughts:
    Slightly negative:
    •The wrist feels pretty narrow and kind of prohibitive using 2 fingers in the pinky stall.
    -unsure if breaking in the glove will make it feel a little easier to slide on to my hand (would love feedback on that)
    Positive:
    •I think the size is perfect, always found the 12.5” to be the sweet spot
    •The reduced weight is great; very easy to wave around
    The colors are fine, i think the new ‘23 model is too flashy for me, but whatever that’s every individual’s personal preference
    I think the 1810 design may be more suitable to me, but who knows.

      My buddy has a great video review on the 1810 that can maybe help you on your decision. th-cam.com/video/uuVEO4qnVZo/w-d-xo.html
      And yeah, the MB50 will probably feel pretty snug around the wrist. might have to break it in and see if it's any different.

    Hey bro, Wilson never made Mookie's infield glove with his Dodgers colors did they? I'm sure his 12.5" is racking up sales, I feel like if they ever did, it would be a huge seller as well, maybe even bigger cause younger dudes seemingly can't get enough infield gloves, particularly Wilson. I'd get one myself and I'm strictly outfield and 1b!

    • @Chanterprise
      @Chanterprise  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, you're correct. Wilson never made the Mookie 1786 Dodgers colorway. It's a pro-issue exclusive to Mookie. And for sure, I think a lot of glove collectors would have loved to have seen that glove.

    The description for the 2022 model states the heel is narrower by design, and the 2021 and 2022 models are identical. Do you notice that compared to the 1799 model?
    Seems like the narrower heel would be better for someone with a smaller hand.

    • @Chanterprise
      @Chanterprise  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're correct. And yeah, for the most part. I don't currently have a 1799 to make a comparison video, but when I do, I'll get one going. The MB50 might be narrower by design because it's a scaled down version of a 1799 and maybe also because Mookie prefers that as it's "closer" to it being like an infield glove.

    What’s the difference from the 2020 and 2021 performance,durability,break in wise

    • @Chanterprise
      @Chanterprise  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      First off, the biggest difference between the 2021 from the 2020 (or any previous MB50 models) is the entire backing of the fingers is superskin. If anything, the complete superskin back will make some what of a difference to all three of those things you mentioned (performance, durability, and break in). With that said, an all superskin back will probably have a longer durability life over the normal leather (since superskin is pretty much a synthetic material). I believe that this makes it a bit easier to break in. Only thing that doesn't make it easier to break in is the leather on the inside of the fingers and the leather used for the palm of the glove is A2K leather, which is the highest quality leather that Wilson offers. A2K gloves typically are extremely durable over a long period of time (Of course that also depends on how much you're using the glove). As far as performance, I don't have the EXACT weight measurements, but an all superskin back should make the 2021 glove a bit lighter than the 2020 (and previous models).

      Just noticed this was mookies glove last season his real 2021 season. Glove will be used next season and his game glove next season won’t be the 2021

    • @Chanterprise
      @Chanterprise  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Spritegod07 if I am ready your comment correctly, yes you’re correct. Mookie’s 2021 glove (shown in this video) was the one he used during the 2020 season. Wilson will more than likely make a new MB50 for him for the 2021 season, but it won’t be available to the public until Fall of 2021 and will be labeled as the 2022 MB50.

    Isn't it too small for an outfield glove? 12'5" that's the only reason I haven't buy it yet so please tell me if the size its too small

    • @Chanterprise
      @Chanterprise  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      At 12.5" it isn't too small for any outfield glove. Ultimately it's up to the player. Mookie prefers to have a "smaller" outfield glove because he grew up primarily an infielder so he's used to smaller gloves. Now from my experience with the glove, you're not going to notice the quarter inch size difference. As mentioned in the video, the MB50 is just a scaled down 1799. If you have a smaller hand, like me, this glove is great and I'd totally recommend getting it. Otherwise if you do prefer a standard 12.75" or just have a bigger hand, I'd say just look for a 1799. The MB50s from 2018 and 2019 were just relabeled 12.75" 1799s .

  • @HoOGenghisB
    @HoOGenghisB ปีที่แล้ว

    I’m trying to figure out what the differences are between this and the general feel of the 1810ss. Aside from the quarter inch difference. Any opinions/thoughts/facts?

    • @Chanterprise
      @Chanterprise  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1799 is the flagship outfield model. Very similar to a Rawlings 303 pattern (pretty much just standard outfield pattern). The MB50 is pretty much just a quarter inch shorter brother version of the 1799. The 1810ss is a different pattern. The main difference you’re going to find with the 1810 is the modification in the wrist strap. I like the MB50 because I’m a smaller player. Although I’d trust the 1799. I don’t have any personal experience with the 1810 as of this comment. In regards to innovation, I’d say that the 1810 would probably be worth trying since it might feel more comfortable. It all depends on your own style of play too. I believe the 1810 is designed more for players that prefer pinky and ring fingers in the pinky stall/slot.

    • @HoOGenghisB
      @HoOGenghisB ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Chanterprise I’m also a smaller player 5’8”. And i’m super intrigued by the 1810. I can’t find any anywhere nearby to just put my hand in and feel. It’s either this 12.5 mb glove in your video (don’t like the blueness of the ‘23) or the 1810. Having trouble making the final call. Thanks for your response! Great vid!

    • @HoOGenghisB
      @HoOGenghisB ปีที่แล้ว

      As a player that uses the pinky slot for both my pinky and ring fingers I might go with the 1810 if that’s the case. Unless there is difficulty doing that with the MB?

    • @Chanterprise
      @Chanterprise  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What’s the difference from the 2020 and the 2021

    • @Chanterprise
      @Chanterprise  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Kadin! 3 differences you'll find are: 1) The back (fingers) of the 2021 is ALL superskin. The 2020 has navy A2K leather that alternates with red superskin. 2) The 2021 has a comfort sleeve on the inside of the glove that tucks away the wrist binding so it doesn't rub up against your pink finger. (The comfort sleeve is a new feature on most 2021 Wilsons). 3) Obviously the color way used for the glove. The 2021 is White, Black, and Blue for Dodgers. The 2020 is Red, Navy, and Gold for when Mookie was with the Red Sox.
      There is obviously this video to watch, but to make other comparisons, I do have a video on the 2020 MB50.

    Could it be used for infield i play shortstop and 2nd

    • @Chanterprise
      @Chanterprise  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nothing would stop you from using it for infield at either 2nd base or shortstop for baseball. Although most baseball infielders prefer a smaller glove anywhere between 11"-12.25". The MB50 in this video is 12.5" so it would be bigger than what most baseball infielders would prefer. If you're playing infield for softball, this glove is the perfect size. Hope that helps.

      In my opinion, no, it isn’t a huge difference. Where it is a bit of a difference though is on the wrist/hand slot. It’s great for someone like me who has smaller hands. Someone who has bigger hands will probably want to go with the typical 1799 model from Wilson or a 303 model from Rawlings

    • @Chanterprise
      @Chanterprise  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's based off Wilson's 1799 pattern (which is a standard outfield pattern), so it's a fairly deep pocket for an outfield glove, it's just at 12.5" instead of the typical 12.75"
