Spot on. I have to make a run to get the proper size combo wrench to loosen up the cable so I can clean it out completely, but even knocking off the corrosion that was accessible got the car to start. Thanks, brother!

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders After driving it the next day, I noticed a struggle to start the car, so I took it to AutoZone, where the battery failed the load test. Good news, though. Battery was still under warranty, so easy peasy swap without a penny coming out of my pocket! Well, a few bucks for the 10mm combo wrench, but pretty happy with the overall outcome.

Okay. Well this happened to me this morning on the highway. My power steering went out. My battery is perfectly fine. I even got it tested. It's perfectly fine. There is no corrosion on my battery either. The only corrosion I can see on my battery are in the ventilation areas but not on the physical cables. I'm so confused on what is causing this because I turned my car back on a few hours later and all of a sudden my power steering is back and working properly.

Good morning ☕️ any update? You may have a faulty sensor however before replacing any parts, we recommend performing a system reset.
This can be done by disconnecting the black negative cable from your battery and leaving it disconnected for a minimum five minutes.
After five minutes, resecure black negative cable to your battery and start engine to verify system has reset and reconfigured.

Any idea what would cause loose steering? Like no force required to turn the wheel. No spring back to center!! I know my Cruze has electric steering cause this happened once before. Unfortunately this time it happened after my cousin worked on the car so I have absolutely no idea what he may have done.. the first time it happened is when my alternator went bad. I have this same issue except when I read my battery voltage on the dash it’s at a strong 15 could it still possibly be the battery?

I've repaired 3 Chevy Cruze's with this issue. All three were caused by a bad (SAS) Steering Angle Sensor. It's not a hard fix, but you must have a scan tool that can reset the sensor after replacing.

Got a 2014 Buick Lacrosse. Family used it to jump start another vehicle. Now ABS light and traction control light are on. But engine light is not on. Electric power steering is nada nope. Driver and passenger ventilator and heater controls also don't work. Any ideas? Or get a dealer diagnostics?

Thanks for watching. Let’s get this figured out. You can actually visit your local AutoZone and ask them to hook up an OBD scanner to your onboard computer and read any and all error codes. They do this for 100% free.
They will then provide you with a print out of all error codes and this will help us pinpoint the exact part that needs to be replaced.... or.... your onboard computer may just require a quick and friendly system reset which AutoZone can perform with their scanner.
Let’s start there as it will keep money in your pocket. Keep us posted.

DIY With Michael Borders The OBDs won’t read anything because the check engine light is not on. They told me that straight to my face. All the fuses I’ve been able to check are good. You think I should just take it to the dealer?

Thanks for the update. Try disconnecting your black negative cable from your battery and leaving it disconnected for a minimum of 30 minutes.
This will allow your system to perform a full reset. After 30 minutes, reconnect your black negative cable to your battery and start engine. A test drive is recommended to allow all systems to operate and communicate to the onboard computer.
You may have just had a computer glitch and this reset may get you back in-line. Keep us posted.

Hello! You mentioned Auto Zone having a specific tool to help clean corrosion, do you happen to know what tool? I’m having this issue with my car but the recall doesn’t apply to my VIN #. Please and thank you!

Thanks for watching & if you are referring to the battery lead, it’s a handheld battery lead corrosion removal tool.
      Hope this helps.
