    Best service anywhere anytime period. I do not know of any other place where you can have a expert engineer and technician repair and restore your tools with HONOR , HONESTY and INTEGRITY and feel damn good about when you pick up your tool and pay the man and leave with a smile. Prayers and Love to you and your family !!!!

    Not only did you have the right housing to repair this grinder, you also managed to match the condition to the original! Incredible repair, always a pleasure to watch you work

    Exceptional service. The diagnosis of the problem, the secondhand casing replacement, the swapping of stator, switch and brush holder ‘just in case’, renewal of the head and tail bearings on the armature along with a new set of brushes and she is good to work for another long spell. Your customer should be more than happy.

    I'm trying to imagine the storage needed to keep second hand spares from 25+ years ago. I never throw anything away in case it might be useful but I can't compete with this! Respect!

      He's gone through it all and showed it on his work shop tour a few months back now. Maybe the 100k subs video iirc. Besides all the parts & pieces stored on wall shelves and containers inside the shop there's a shed out side along with a shipping container both packed with all the old used parts & pieces he may possibly need someday. I don't think you'll find this kind of service and used parts selection anywhere, but you can find a lot of used pieces on eBay though depending on how old & popular it was. Dean is the man I wish he was over here in the US, he'd literally be so slammed with work he'd need an assistant or 3 to handle the workload!

    Thanks for the video.
    Always like it when the tool comes in the owner says it just needs brushes. 20 min later Used body, two new bearings, and the brushes.

    If you're doing this at home and you melt out a housing I've managed to use aluminum pop can cut in strips as shim material and loctite to space the new bearing.
    And I have one heavy duty dewalt drill that had a melted rear housing where I used epoxy and set the armature and bearing in that I was able to assemble it with shims to make sure it was centered. .

    You're incredible and I know you said that's not working perfectly but that sounds better than the brand new Milwaukee grinder I have. And I bet when it breaks parts will out price the grinder.

      couldn't agree more. what turned me onto them first was the price. A standard Wiha set is not that much more expensive compared to a basic cheap brand. but they last like nothing else, and are the most comfortable to use. Wouldn't buy anything but Wiha and Wera now.

    • @Dr_V
      @Dr_V 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@deandohertygreaser Unfortunately that's not true around here, at 60 euros for a set of 6 this kind of Whia screwdrivers are about 3 times the price of a decent quality hobby set and even above some professional ones (equivalent blue Bosch set is 50 euros).

    My Dear Brother Dean, I hope that man is told how you fixed that soon to be 30 year old grinder up for another possibly 10 years. Oh and I kept thinking is he going to change that handle that's bent, but the more I looked at it I realized it's not bent it's actually made to be at that angle I have never seen one like that before. Good job ! 🇨🇮🇺🇸👍

    I wonder if it's worth putting a bit of grease around the outer part of any bearing, so that they won't bind up/melt the housing when a bearing race fails.

    • @MrAmorti
      @MrAmorti 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      You don't ever want the outer race to spin in the housing, so I wouldn't be adding anything to reduce friction there. Better just pay attention and stop the tool whenever it sounds bad.

    Bosch is pretty good for servicabilty (the higher up in thenrange stuff anyway), i found it difficult to buy parts in the Republic though, im guesing B and Q or someone has sooe rights to distribute here. I ended up finding some obscure German website that was willing to ship. A snap to fix things though once you have the parts, the diagrams and parts lists are really good.

    Grinders are so cheap and the benefit of the electric brake on modern ones makes upgrading a no brainier to be honest…. 27 year old tools is madness haha

    • @tdotw77
      @tdotw77 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Many people (like welders) have multiple grinders with different speeds & different discs on them for various uses so they don't have to constantly swap the discs to suit the job at hand. Not everyone just has one do-it-all grinder.

    • @richiejames928

      @richiejames928 ok gotcha...you got more money to spend on grinders than the guy who had his fixed rather than tossing it in a landfill for being "too old". I also have a 20+ year old Bosch grinder without a brake and have no need to buy a new one with a brake cause I don't need a new grinder. 🤦🏻‍♂️
