Thank you, Dean, I fixed a Dewalt impact driver and Dewalt 16ga second fix nailer courtesy of your videos!!! I'd give them straight to you but I doubt I could throw them across the Irish sea from Wales!
As always sir, it's your detailed commentary in diagnosis of a failed device I find very helpful. I've been having problems with an old Blue Ryobi drill (that I almost threw out). You have shown me one last issue to check, that just might save it. The old Blue Ryobi 14.4V & early 18V tools were fine for light use - also fairly robust. They aren't as powerful or compact as modern cordless tools, but they still get the job done, untill you can buy a more modern compact Makita etc.
So around 1:07ish discribing the internals of the Makita jigsaw, you mentioned that on some tools (not this jigsaw) the replacement controller can be the price of the whole tool..... new sales technique "heavy duty control board, now with free tool!!!" They really need to introduce laws to stop companies doing this. We should be able to buy all the replacement components at sensible prices so that we're con contributing to the damage being done to our planet buy basically using tools that you have to throw away if something tiny breaks. That jigsaw is how it should be done, literally being able to replace anything that breaks is a definite must have for tools 😊👍👍👍👍
What happened to the second spring from inside the hammering tube? The smaller one that you forgot to put in and almost finished assembling the Bosch Hammer? 😂😂 Thanks God for the editing magic!! Just kidding, man! No one's perfect. Love your videos! Keep them coming! Cheers!
What could be the problem if my hammering stops at high speed and continous if i let go the trigger and start at a lower speed level of the motor? its a old Hilti TE72 with new O-Rings and new 70ml of Oil for Hammer Tools.
I would guess someone had removed the speed controler and wired the motor direct to the switch. Because the red service light of death had come on. If so, it's now running to fast and lost the harmonics to hammer correctly
@@deandohertygreaser I need to be more specific. It has no speed control. By speed I mean, for example, how fast the flight piston moves or how fast the connecting rod turns. At slower speeds it starts to beat again. But at full throttle, sometimes the hammer mechanism simply fails. Could it be that the flying piston gets stuck? I have thought about adding 20ml more oil. Whereby 70ml is the manufacturer's specification.
I'm sure there is and you just don't know about it or you couldn't find it when you did a 45 second Google search. Or you're in a very rural area and you gave to drive an hour into town.
On that Makita cordless jigsaw, I know it was killing you to only have that very simple repair to do.. no grease to add, no little odds and ends to fix.. very very simple fix. Kudo to Makita for making every individual part inside that machine (a lot of their tools, actually) available for replacement. Very nice to see that. I was thinking you may have had to drill out the screw hole and put a tap in there or a helicoil or something. What a nicely engineered tool!
Just bumped into your channel Dean. ....Binge watching out of the way upstairs with a couple of lagers while the family downstairs arguing over 200 channels.!!!! Bliss.
"Either way, we have to go in deeper." I couldn't have said it better myself. edit: Dean, you truly are a master, that Makita hammer is a GREAT tool, I used one for years when I was a much younger man installing safety covers for inground swimming pools. It's good to see her back in action. Really nice work!! (on everything you repair)
Hey Dean, i know it's asked a lot but could you put in the description the spare part number of the grease that you use : the thick and light bosch grease. Love the video, learn so much through them. Almost tear down through every really good video that you propose on your channel from almost 2 year back. Thanks again
I think everything should be cleaned on checking all moving parts, love your videos and do you ever forget to put a part back that you might forget Colin from Croydon Surrey ❤
That is what I do. If something comes for repair. I will put a little extra effort into cleaning, Washing the mechanism and relubricating it. Let's hope it will work for the next three years, not three months. This customer will return with some friends and family. It will pay back in the long term.
The rags are actually out of a local shirt factor. Moville clothing. They also made pure cotton pj's, amd these are all the off cuts from them. High end oil rags for me, 😁 Sadly they closed down last year so this is the last of them.
Dean i would suggest you to insert the model numbers in the description maybe also in the title if you can. People searching for fixes will view more of your videos. You'r one of the top repairers on youtube, you can have even more views. 👍
Great fixes as usual , did build my hopes up when i see the bosch multi tool fix , sadly a different fix as mine is the 18v and a floppy locking lever preventing blade change , but a great video none the less .Cheers Dean
Indeed. One tip to get cheaper is to keep an eye on eBay promotional codes. 20% off ones turn up eBay UK, and I'm guessing other countries too, on a regular basis. Normally within the list of companies they can be used with are several large power tool suppliers. The company list changes each time.

Glad the videos helped you lad.
@@deandohertygreaser BIg help! Especially the nailer! Those fuckers are around £300 these days!!! Fair play to you!

It's funny how you always throw the pieces on the table and still get everything back together in the end.
Kills me, too
Great videos, thank you

Wasn't redoing the whole video again. I was annoyed enough at having to rebuild the machine a second time.
@@deandohertygreaser it's alright man! It's thanks to you I am paying attention to all of the details. 🍻
Washing is a part of a full service. oil and grace have a standard life like oil changes in your car .in the tools it must change by service
Good one Dean!!!!!!
Is there a way to bypass the on off button on the makita jigsaw?

hi dean
what light do you use thats attached to your keyring
Olight is the manufacturer. Great lights and a lot of different kinds. I think that Keychain one is called the Mini.
Ill call you the wizard from now on. Sadly no such service in my neck of the woods. Everything gets thrown away and replaced.

With magnetic viewing film to check the magnets have not broke. And also the magnetic strength of each permanent magnet

One is Bosch 1.615.430.005 is mostly for gearboxes of the sds/hammers. He also said that he sometimes use Hilti grease.
Thanks man 👍
Great video as always. Have learned so much from them. I have one question though. Why only change one of the O-rings on the piston?
Only one is for compression. The other is simply to hold the con rod pin in. It rarly needs replaced
@@deandohertygreaser Ah.. That makes sense.. Thank you for the explanation.

In your opinion what would you consider the best brand to buy for reliability, price etc and what would be your least favorite ?
Dean, you’re an absolute genius when it comes to repairing tools
I have a shed load of tools I need to repair how can I send them to you?
With the locktited on chuck, after the initial cut, can you use heat to breakdown the locktite and remove the end of the chuck?
Much appreciated Dean Thanks for taking the time to post
If you put names and type of every machine you Will get more views and People who needs it Will find it faster
Yes, I keep meaning to do that. But it's very late at night before I get time to post these, so I never get round to it.
Ok

How about that CEENR battery teardown? 😁 I want to know whose cells they use in their batteries.

Controllers on all machines are way too expensive because a lot are too expensive to fix
Wow lots of fixes some set asides for parts. Nice job Dean. Lookin forward to the next video.
Is the makita grinder even worth the repair? I bought the 125mm 800w model for 50eur new, its like 60eur tops.
