A lot of Bethesda fans really wanted Starfield to be a game of the year contender. Sadly it ended up needing and extra year or two of development. Alan Wake 2 on the other hand is an outright amazing game from the start. I'm positive if Alan Wake 2 came out in 2024 instead then they would have thrown Starfield a bone and made it nominee at least. Good video!
It didn't need more development time. It's design was flawed from the start. As soon as they decided to go for procedural generation on thousands of "explorable" planets, the game was doomed.
I remember how people were complaining about the voiced protag in FO4 and the few dialogue options available. And they were so relieved Starfield had no voiced protag and so many dialogue lines. I can't express my Schadenfreude, when I played the game and noticed how shallow and stupid and pointless the dialogues in Starfield are and how "more dialogue lines" does not automatically translate into "many roleplaying options and good dialogue". Also, BG3 knocked Starfield out of GOTY, not AW2.
"How did Alan Wake kick Starfield out of GOTY? - By doing everyhing better." Wow dude, what an insight, lol. I also think that these two games are so different, comparing them like that seems silly to me.
Since when was Starfield GOTY 😂😂😂
Dang. Great content! Well-spoken video! Subscribed
Thanks man!! Appreciate it!
Owning most of the consoles and a gaming PC, I never saw Starfield in the running for game of the year.
exactly what are people talking about trying to put Starfield up there with BG3, AW2, TOTK, or even Spiderman 2 lmao

Bro starfield doesn't even have a 50% positive on steam. No where on any game of the year list. Maybe Most disappointing games of the year list 😂😂
