- Welcome back to another Lake District Hike! This week I'm in Borrowdale, one of my favourite places in the Lakes and I head up to Glaramara, a Lake District mountain that I have never summited. Another mega day in the Lakes!
I hope you enjoy the video and feel free to leave a like, subscribe and comment, it'll really help support the growth of my channel :)

That was a very interesting Lake District episode, a part of the Lakes I have not seen before. Excellent filming and some very pertinent tips for winter mountain hiking that are spot on. Looks like you had a great trip! Great to see some snow too 👍 Loved it 😁
Thank you Greg! It’s a great part of the Lakes especially if you want to avoid the crowds! Cheers Greg, hope you’re well 👍😊
Great video again Alex , stunning scenery and amazing colours coming through ,
Thank you! 😊
Spent Saturday around Haweswater and did
Mardale I'll Bell
High Street
The Knott
Rampsgill Head
High Raise
Kidsty Pike
Was rather a lot of snow
Can't wait to get back out
That sounds awesome! I love the Far Eastern fells, some of my favourite routes in the Lakes are around there
Love it Alex! Absolutely stunning views, looks like an awesome walk
Cheers! Awesome day out 😊
So cool, looks incredible. Thanks again for sharing
Cheers! 😊
Beautiful video as always, Alex. Love our Lakes. Thank you for sharing with us.
Thank you very much 😊
Glaramara was one of the first fells i climbed as was Rothswaite met some friends from Plymouth on that day in 2008 the weather was very pleasant and the views were lovely . The following day i did Castle Crag with my Rough Collie Lady ,she is a typical hardy Scottish breed and everyone kept calling her Lassie ,visited the memorial at the summit and i placed a letterbox on the Crag before the summit for people to visit . I had several visitors when i went back in 2010 when I also visited Mullicans Cave ,cant believe someone lived there at one time . Great video as always .My favorite fell in the Lakes must be Bow fell ,when i did the Crinkle Crags from the Langdales so much to see ,ended up going to Great end and ended up in Seathwaite a brilliant Ridge walk if you get dropped off and picked up .Lady loved it .
Thank you for sharing such a lovely story! I think Bow Fell and Crinkle crags might be my favourite also. I spent yesterday on the other side of the Langdale Valley, stood on Pike of Stickle looking over to a snow topped Crinkle Crags and Bow fell, stunning! Thanks again 😊
Another outstanding episode bud, this looks amazing! Absolutely brilliant landscapes 🔥🔥
Thank you very much 😊
Brilliant footage
Thank you 😊
Love your Lakes vlogs , Glaramara is always a boggy challenge with sketchy footpaths, we are currently on 135 so you’ve overtaken us 👏👏👏
Thank you so much 😊 you’re making awesome progress, gets a little harder towards the end doesn’t it, begin to run low on the routes where you can bag a load in one go. Hope you enjoy the remaining summits 😊👍
Just dropped a sub mate, will watch some vids after work 🤜🏼🤛🏻
So glad tour soing sone Lakes hikes. I find them useful to help me with my walks and cross reference to my maps. Thank you for this
Thank you! Glad you find them useful. Plenty more Lakes walks to come 😊
@@alexcripps.outdoors excellent
Another great walk❤
Thank you 😊
Hi Alex, can you link OS Route ? thank you another great video
This is a great video - really enjoy them man! What do you fillm with?
Cheers man! I used a GoPro for this one 👍
Great job. Out of interest, what were your layers beneath the hard shell? Didn't you over heat or is the shell well ventilated through pit zips etc?
Thank you. I was wearing a base layer, mid layer and alternating between a soft shell and hard shell throughout the walk. Added a synthetic insulated jacket at the top. I was a little warm but the temperatures were sub zero with the wind chill, would rather be a little warmer than cold. Hope that helps. I just recently uploaded a video on what I wear for winter hiking which might be of interest to you, cheers 😊👍
Could you show or share what micro spikes you use please.
I use the Kahtoola micro spikes. I’ve been very impressed with them!
