I think it would be cool idea to have one side of the enclosures that are on the ends of your shelves to be mirrored, will make the shelf look much longer. Plus you'd be able to use the enclosures you swap out for other tarantulas.
I absolutely love how you can do everything in the dark den by yourself. U actually inspired me to start doing things DIY in my tarantula room. U are a definiton of a self-made man :D
my only concern with the mirror would be behaviour/stress, in fish keeping if fish can see their reflection in the glass of the aquarium they tend to either be scared of their reflection or attack it constantly, same goes for mirrors, in fact its even used as a way of keeping aggressive fish distracted while new fish are settling in, the question would be if the tarantulas vision is good enough to see itself, probably wouldnt be a good idea for reptiles etc, Otherise love it! :)
I haven't been on TH-cam in a bit and I MISSED this channel so much. I wouldn't have tarantulas to begin with, and absolutely wouldn't have LIVING tarantulas without your videos.
I really like the idea, looks pretty awesome :3 I would just be a little concerned about the tarantula constantly being stressed out because of her reflection... but I guess they can't see good enough to being bothered by it. ^.^
@petko the reason for putting all the pieces together at once is because silicone that is curing will not bond to silicone that is already cured, serpadesign mentions this in several videos. I know a watertight seal isnt necessary for T enclosures, but if you ever do another custom built paludarium or aquarium, please please please silicone it all at once and save yourself the trouble of a leak
I was literally, just a few days ago, looking for reflective window tint for my ExoTerras to do exactly this.. I wasn't sure if I should go mirror or reflective black.. Now seeing the mirror version it does look much better than I imagined. The reason I wanted to go window tint is because I'd still be able to see in through the reflective screen, but not out.. Emphasising on the illusion of space. Thanks for doing this, helped out a lot.
I really like the mirror design, especially when looking at it on the enclosure next to the others. It doesnt just "end", if that makes sense. Great choice of tarantula to go in there too! Shes a pretty, stubborn girl! Take care & stay safe!
Real cool idea using mirrors. Do you sell the the plastic pieces and ventilation to build enclosures like a kit with measurements for the glass? That would be something I would want to buy.
Brilliant! I thought about doing this years ago, as my late mother used to use mirrors for all her big tropical/salt water fish tanks. Looks really gooood!
Great idea! I've done this before. The enclosure looked great. Mine had pothos (spelling?) And the reflective surface added LOTS of light and the plant REALLY took off lol. Had to keep on the trimming as it would push the lid open. Awesome stuff as always Petko, again very inspiring
@@meagandoodlebug I totally agree. The one I have in my current enclosures is probably the 30th generation of a plant I got years ago. Trim it, root it and start a new enclosure😁
I like the mirrors and the end result! Thanks for sharing the step-by-step of the creation process - a well designed and very practical enclosure. I must admit that I am surprised that seeing its own reflection does not confuse the tarantula into "thinking" that there is another tarantula in the enclosure. But it did not seem to react when it saw itself, so I assume it does not stress or have any effect at all.
If you made it out of 2 way mirrors you should be able to see thru the sides still and still maintain the infinity. Same process as an infinity mirror proper
I JUST got a p.pulcher. I loved how they look. My sling tho, has been the feistiest sling. I heard p.pulcher is one of the calmer ones. Just goes ot show it depends on the T. -My OBT is a total sweety.
Thanks to you my boyfriend and i are now up to 4 Ts. We have a Gromostola rosea, Brachypelma emilia, Brachypelma smithi, and our highly aggressive Aphonopelma seemanni. We plan on getting more.
I think if you did only the sides of enclosures that are against the shelving only it would look pretty cool. From one angle you could see into every enclosure and yet they would flow into the next shelf entirety
Hey petko!! Could you update us on the Balfori communal enclosure? Can we also have an update on Kiwi? I really love your channel and I love those spiders as well!
Wow very sweet upgrade, love it. Ur always thinking of making things better, plus the over head for ur camera, again very cool. Have fun rest of ur day.
It looks amazing 😍, I’m looking into my first T thanks to your vidz and T kat’s. I love watching you guys and the knowledge you have and love for your T’s. Is there anywhere I can get those plastic bits for the enclosures as I’d like to make my own as well 😁
Really like the homemade enclosures there really neat and tidy, you should defently sell or release the blueprints or sell them and make a profit mate. Another good video :D
Yo man you f'd up you should have patent that aka the new Exo Terraor something like that you would have made a crapload of money if I would have seen that on the market I would have gotten all of my terrariums cages just like that paid no expense
You should try this with 3 sides made from "window mirror" dont know what its actually called but you can see through it one way but not the other. That way you can see through all three sides (or 4 if you make another table terrarium with a centerpiece instead of a backwall) that would be so epic!!!
Heyo! I just learned that the springtails need the charcoal to keep breeding, so putting a chuck of charcoal in each encounter would be a good idea, try it out :) love your videos
You should protect the back of the mirrors like you did on the one side. The mirror paint can be scratched easily and it will destroy the mirror look from the inside
Hey Petko! This is a really cool idea and a nice video. But how about covering the styrofoam at the backside with some kind of black foil or something like that. It´s only a suggestion, but just think about it. Everytime you put an enclosure on your table to show us a tarantula up close, we see the "ugly" backside from the background...I think that would look much nicer. =)
I think the mirror side works well for the enclosures against the shelf edge so it makes the row feel bigger but I would leave the other side glass so you can still see into the adjacent enclosures. Hopefully that made sense.. Lol
I would love to see an update on the Scytodes spitting spiders. I realize they are fairly small and mostly nocturnal, so you may be having a hard time getting any footage at all, but even just seeing them would be nice.
how to get communal setup on cheap - use mirrors
No chance of cannibalism either so any tarantula can be used.
What a great idea!!! But... will I have to feed them all??🤣🤣
Debbie Mcclure no for some reason you drop 1 feeder insect in and all of them get one
I think it would be cool idea to have one side of the enclosures that are on the ends of your shelves to be mirrored, will make the shelf look much longer. Plus you'd be able to use the enclosures you swap out for other tarantulas.
That's a cool idea! Adding a mirror to the shelf itself should have the same effect and he wouldn't have to remake enclosures.
yeah, would work :D
Thats what the do at the grocery story with the meats
I came down here to say that! Would be real cool
I was Late to make this comment.. Lol
Really like the new overhead camera attachment. Good Job.

Tarantulas are pretty much blind so it wont matter 👍

been subbed for awhile, can’t say i seen every video but the ones i’ve seen have never left me dissapointed. great content man.
No matter how I feel I can always rely on Petco skateboarding out the dark den to cheer me up
The mirror is a really great idea for the side that is closest to the edge. It gives the illusion that the shelf keeps on going.
I love it it's so awesome you 3d printed the parts for the cages sweet
Really all of those plastic pieces can do with the 3D printer? Greetings from México, bro
@petko the reason for putting all the pieces together at once is because silicone that is curing will not bond to silicone that is already cured, serpadesign mentions this in several videos. Those tiny little tarantula paws! 😍 so cute and fluffy
You really are multitalented Petko! Nice vid as always!
I love the look of the mirrors on the sides! It really makes the enclosure appear larger. 🤩
I think the mirror will freak the tarantula out because it will see another tarantula in its area and will probably want to fight against it.
I was literally, just a few days ago, looking for reflective window tint for my ExoTerras to do exactly this.. I wasn't sure if I should go mirror or reflective black.. Now seeing the mirror version it does look much better than I imagined.

Reallllly cool. Great upgrade with the overhead camera too, will be able to get some great shots with that 👍🏻🙂
The mirror seems to reflect light into the space well. Cool idea.👍👍👍👍

Just gotta tell you Petco a freaking love you man, In this crazy world sometimes you need to chill and your videos are the perfect medicine.

Enclose building is so satisfying and relaxing😩 so creative!!

Pothos
@@meagandoodlebug thank you Meagan😀
@@dprofessor3238 you're welcome! They're great plants-especially in enclosures. I swear they could probably grow in a dark closet haha
@@meagandoodlebug I totally agree. The one I have in my current enclosures is probably the 30th generation of a plant I got years ago. Trim it, root it and start a new enclosure😁
Love your building method man! I am a black smith and know all to well how important it is to “measure twice cut once”
I like the mirrors and the end result! Thanks for sharing the step-by-step of the creation process - a well designed and very practical enclosure. I think it's because tarantulas don't have good vision, they sense other tarantulas mostly through vibration.
This is sick!! I never thought of this, thanks for the idea!!! 💖💖💖
Petko, you are awesome!! I look forward to your videos every week!
The new attachment on camera is great. I really like it
Great idea makes enclosure look so much bigger might need to try this
New camera setup is super fancy!! Awesome!
Petko, you’re the coolest. We’re lucky you produce the best tarantula content!
Great work, Petko! A beautiful enclosure for a beautiful tarantula :)
If you made it out of 2 way mirrors you should be able to see thru the sides still and still maintain the infinity. Same process as an infinity mirror proper
Actually a very nice idea. Never thought of it to do it this way.
I have never seen something like this ever! So inovative ! Ps: on a dark den binge
Thank you for uploading during this hard time. Your videos inspire me every time I watch. Your amazing my friend!!
I really enjoy the mirror enclosure the most! Very nice!
I really like the mirrors, it will be cool to see where else you use them !
Always enjoy your enclosure videos brother. Good stuff.

Gives a new die-mention to the set up, luv it

Dude I love your enclosures!! You make the best videos!!
wow that new camera angle is perfect for feeding videos !!
I also have a enclosure with a mirror for one of my tarantulas
Wow very sweet upgrade, love it. Ur always thinking of making things better, plus the over head for ur camera, again very cool. Have fun rest of ur day.
You should try to get a heterochaeta orientalis mantis. They live longer and get up to 6 inches long.

Psalmopeous pulcher is so cute mine is a teeny tiny sling but still cute as a button 💕 sweet enclosure as always, mirror looks crazy 😜
Very nice enclosure Petko. Tyfs God bless you
I love Mondays because of you 💕
I love the new camera angle!
Really like the homemade enclosures there really neat and tidy, you should defently sell or release the blueprints or sell them and make a profit mate. Another good video :D
I think you should do ALL of them with mirrors. It looks so nice.
i like these type of Videos most.. build enclosure, show spider, rehouse, feed, happy dance. :)
I would love to purchase one of these !!!! 😳😍
Yo man you f'd up you should have patent that aka the new Exo Terraor something like that you would have made a crapload of money if I would have seen that on the market I would have gotten all of my terrariums cages just like that paid no expense
I really like the mirrors though I didn't think I would. It looks quite open that way.
Waiting for a new dark den video while watching other dark den videos ✊🏼😎👍🏼
You should use mirrors for the enclosure at the end of the shelves. Use a mirror on the side against the shelf.
Super cool idea! Love it, and love watching the building process!
Nice! I've been thinking about building one out of mirror 👌👍 definitely like the look! Give the appearance of more space 👌👍😎
That was awesome! I really like the mirrors. It makes the enclosure look so big!
Great idea. Will you ever sell your 3D printer plans as your door mechanism is great 👌🏻😁
Really like this mirror enclosure
I just recieved my Dark Den shirt and stickers. They look great. Thanks.
Look into the 2 way mirrors so that way you can see the enclosure from all four side still n not worry about loosing viewing angle
That was awesome seeing how u do/ make a unclosed from start to finish. 👍💜
You should try this with 3 sides made from "window mirror" dont know what its actually called but you can see through it one way but not the other. Super sweet set up man
i really like the mirror idea

i was waiting for the cup on the side. thought it was an egg update hahaha
but cool enclosure sir more videos to come 😊
Best tarantula video ever!!!!
Love your builds! You have great designs!
Awesome idea, I love it! And she's so freaking fluffy, have the species on my to do list for a while now. Never found one tho :C
What a FANTASTIC IDEA!!!! You should patent it and sell them you'd be a MILLIONAIRE!
I would love to see an update on the Scytodes spitting spiders. I realize they are fairly small and mostly nocturnal, so you may be having a hard time getting any footage at all, but even just seeing them would be nice.
use a glass with water and disksope dop ur finger and u can form the silikon withoute it stick to ur finger. just a tip for nice and clean grout 😍
That's a beautiful enclosure!
Loving this mirror setup! also love watching your videos!
Amazing content as always!!! Great way to start the week! :)
you should do all enclosure at the end, you did show 3 so 1 and 3 in the mid you can watch all and at the end it tripps all
:D
nice idea, though for the bigger one i would try 3 sides maybe? if you want the infinity mirror effect
If you dip your finder in windex the silicone won’t stick to your finger and you won’t have to wipe it off when you spread it!
Looks really nice 😍
Looks really nice!
I think I’d become obsessed with keeping the mirrors stain free
Epic Epic Epic So Love It Mirror is wicked.. so glad to see start and finish it the cage love your cages so much love the spider too thanks so much...
