My husband has never understood why I watch these videos. I am a lifelong arachnophobe, but these videos helped that a lot. To the point that if it were just my choice, I would get a tarantula. But my husband is having none of it and I have to respect that. But still, he didnt understand why I watch the videos. Then I was sat next to him watching the feeding video and he caught glimpses and he got in to it lol He was even agreeing that they were beautiful. He still doesnt want one as a pet, but he now knows why I watch. I'll stick to the one in our shed, that one gets plenty of food out there, but when I find a juicy bug for it, it gets that too, so kind of like a pet lol Anyway, thanks for your videos.xx

@@moose8846 Nah, he is an amazing man that, within his ability, gives me whatever I could want and if I really pushed him, he would go for it, but why should he have to be uncomfy with a pet just so I'm satisfied with it? I'm happy watching them online. :)

Hi Petco, old fluffy sassy broad here. My daughter caught me watching your videos and was just amazed. She is 42 and so she knows me well. And nose that because of a free scallywag younger brothers I have problems with bugs. Especially spiders. She knows me as a strong and brave and courageous woman. But when it comes to spiders I'd evolve into a sputtering, blubbering, hysterical mess. It really isn't pretty. And although I don't think I will ever come to a point where I want a spider within 30 feet of me I do really enjoy your videos. Been catching up by watching some of your older ones and through the different dark dens upgrades. Overtime you are skills and knowledge have increased, especially your skills with cameras. But your enthusiasm and your love for all of your Critters has been constant and addictive. I know this is long, but that's just the way I talk. And since I like me a lot I'll keep talking the way I talk. Keep positive keep up doing what you do so well and I'm really excited about watching the Dark Den being designed and put together at your house!👏😄
Hope you don't mind I read your post. I came here for the same reason a few years ago. And guess what, I have a couple of Ts myself now. Still super scared of British house spiders though. But super panic mode has been turned down a notch😂
Not meaning to frighten you but you are seldom farther than 6ft from a spider. In cracks, under tables some too tiny to see. Every summer I get a breakout in the house and these tiny dots start coming down from the ceiling.

Because of the Lense: I am a professional photographer and this is a very common issue. The lense just needs to be calibrated. You might be able to do it yourself if you google your lense type or just call some camera stores. Every decent camera store can calibrate the lense for you.
I know the pains of buying those expensive lenses - pay someone to calibrate the lense for you and buy a crayfish tank with the money you saved :D

@@TheDarkDen Why not check Panasonic online for help with calibration? Or at least there should be a, "Panasonic lens," forum related to them, or check for a camera and lens forum?
If you didn't buy the lens that long ago, perhaps Panasonic might even switch it out for you? You could show them your TH-cam channel, and your loyal following?
I'm watching, because I grew up around wild tarantulas in Oklahoma, and sometimes they'd wonder into the house chasing crickets 🤣 I was able to rescue the tarantulas, even the ones that ran into mom! Scorpions, not so lucky - they got the fly swatter 🤪
@@TheDarkDen Try taking a shot using manual focus. If the image is sharp there's probably nothing wrong with either the lens or the body. You'll just need to calibrate the AF in the camera. This will only cost the price of the sheet of paper you'll need to print off as a focusing guide.
You can have the lens serviced rather than buying a new one.
That usually ends up being more expensive than buying a new one

The quickest method to verify if lens is the problem is to switch lens with your friend, if his shots with (bad?) lens are iffy then for sure it's your lens. Sorry if it costs a new lens.
Can a lens just break without having been dropped? They might have a guarantee on them like Zildjian cymbals
@@W._Langman It's difficult to break a lens without some type of jarring, in really old lens they could be damaged by overtightening the threads, but Petko's lens are all quick release so that's not likely.

petko, maybe the filter is doing that sound because the water level is so low and it can't absorb the water, try to fill it up first.

I second this. Evaporation happens so it will constantly drop in the future so as part of maintenence water has to be added continuously
Agree with these posts. I use the same pump for water fountains for my cats and if there is an air lock in the pump or if the water isn’t deep enough then you get the humming sound. The other thing is that periodically you need to take the pump apart, remove the perforated cover, clean then remove the “,” comma shaped cover, this will reveal the spindle which again will all need cleaned. Be careful as the inside of the spindle dan also get blocked do make sure to check and clean it.
This will all need done depending in the water quality. I live in Scotland and allegedly we have great water however if I don’t take the pump apart every 3-4 weeks to clean it , it just won’t pump very well. I wash my fountains thoroughly every week and change the water every 3 days and I still get this black gunk residue in the pump innards. 🤢

They make a "mesh" that goes around the Water pumps... I forget the term/name... But it helps keep more stuff out of the Pump.

Sometimes lenses also create a focus shift over time, which can be repaired. You might check if your local camera shop could repair it before buying another expensive lens

On the subject of your before you empty it just top it back up first to make sure the water level hasn't dropped below the in take if still not working check the pump to make sure the impeller ( the blade bit ) in the pump isn't clogged with sludge as its that bit that draws water through the pump
Wow ! Had no idea D. pentaloris could be that skittish. The Chilobrachys wasn't too bad, once in its new enclosure. I'm surprised it didn't make a break for it. Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)
Concerning the Vampire crab enclosure, the marks on the side of the glass make me believe that a lot of water has evaporated. The pump needs a minimum water level, so try to raise the water level first. Also, you might want to consider changing (part of) the water every week or two, that way you can keep a fixed water level and clean water.
although the camera isn't working, the old camera gives me good nostalgic vibes

I used to have a Canon AE1 P and several lenses and all my lenses suffered condensation inside the lens even though I always kept them in a case when not using them and always gave them time to acclimate when moving the between temeratures . I had a Sears 35mm that never had that problem which I used for years in all types of settings and weather taking photos of motocross and enduro races. I concluded that the Canon just wasn't as well made as the Sears which was much older.
