I was a kid growing up in the 70's. still remember summer nights listening to songs like this on the radio in my room and dreaming of what things will be like when I would be an adult, now that I am , I just want to go back to the 70's.

I remember when I was 10 and would wake up every morning during summer vacation at 6:00 A.M. to go fishing. I would bring my lunch and a transistor radio. This song would come on as the sun would rise over the lake. I will never forget those days. I loved the 70's !

It didn't matter when my Mama and us kids knew Daddy was home we knew we would eat dinner, it's was a happy time, I miss my Daddy and Mama. This song defines music from the 60's and 70's. The storytelling songwriters did in that Era was truly amazing and is sorely missed in music today. Growing up in that Era was one of the best times of my life and it spoiled us and set the bar so high, it hasn't been touched since. it was like music had such meaning and purpose and was the stories of all our lives at that time. Don't get me wrong, there has been some really great songs written since, but they only seem to pop up here and there sporadically, there's no consistency like there was back then.

I have a habit of getting lost in TH-cam. One great song or artist leads you to another and another. Some have been favorites for 50 years or more, others you may have passed over when they first came out and others you may have forgotten until you are reminded how great they are. I feel sorry for the young people of today whose music becomes forgettable over

This song means so much to so many. I was 24 in 1974. It was a pivotal point in my ife. This song evokes a sense of longing and needing a place to belong, that has now becomes melancholy. I met my Vietnam vet ex in 1975. Lots of memories. Some great, some not so great. Thank you Dave Loggins. RIP ❤

I was a child in the 70's & a teen in the 80's. I always felt that my generation got the best of both worlds. We had our music of the 80's & 90's, but we still have our memories and a great appreciation for the music that came in the 70's & before.
I only wish that the kids of today would take the time to listen to music from the previous generations. Too many of them don't make any effort to do that and I feel that they're really missing out on a lot of great stuff.
This is a song that I've rediscovered lately - it has such beautiful lyrics & a very powerful story. To know that when you're roaming the world on your own and there's someone back home that wants you to come back to be with them - that is very uplifting. Thanks to the person who made & posted this video.

I'm a 60's born gal and remember this song well. Because my young life was filled with constant turbulence. But Thank God for my Mom and her love of music. That she encouraged me to listen to. Because they were both my saving grace for surviving. The hell I, my Mom and 6 siblings had to endure. The 60's, 70's and 80's was a great time to be young. Because we experienced the best music ever and are so fortunate to be a part of that era. I miss it!

Age of the singer songwriter here the whole "album" was the artist and there were songs never on the the radio you thought were great. I miss that. Beauty and elegance, personified! So truly elegant! I'm 75 and this old man is still rambling. On the road in two weeks from Montana to Arizona. From the mountains to the desert. It is a condition that so many of us were born with and it only ends with our mortal deaths. Both a blessing and a curse. Beauty and great adventures are our rewards, and we ignore the pain and loss, as we must. So be it. I am in love with a fellow wanderer, a bold German woman who has seen more of the world than I have! That covers a hell of a lot of territory! We will press on together! Many women will attempt to try to pin a wanderer down to a boring, ordinary, 9 to 5 life. Save your breath!

I was a kid in the 70s, but vividly remember all of this music, and also how free and fun life was (for people in general) - not so full of the mass-regulated, mass-media in-your-face culture of today. People back then were a lot more easy going and were a lot kinder to each other. And we didn't have cell phones or internet (a connection, perhaps?). If I could travel back in time, I'd definitely go back to the 70s.

Cohen understood without any doubt the truth of the human spirit. Without dark there cannot be light and without light there can be no salvation. Years on the road left it's mark in the simple truth that people are imperfect. When one embraces the raw truth of humanity it provides the path to that salvation. Question what you've been told and apply your own past and experiences. The stark truth is that love is only fleeting and that sex is a part of being human being.

+Mark T Hey Mark, whats the matter with you? Why would you write such a mean-spirited message to a stranger? Would you feel better if i told you your message really hurt me. Is that what you need to hear? Mark, isn't there enough pain & heartache in the world, without people like you that randomly hurt (or try) a man like me. Mark, there are many people on the edge in this life, and words are powerful to some people. So in the future, why not say something encouraging or maybe just dont say anything at all. Mark, if i read this message & was so weak & distraught that i killed myself, how would that make you feel? I am a thick skinned man, so people like you, angry fools, dont hurt me. But i pray you dont write this to someone at the end of their rope. MARK, WORDS ARE POWERFUL, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WRITE TO PEOPLE.

There's equally good lyrical content out there, but these and other great lines are in the minority of what's been written. It's not a matter of competition or comparison. It's about admiration of the poetic insight. Every gripping lyrical line ever penned has its own kind of power that makes it singular. They soar when they're part of a sonic masterpiece -- as they do here. ; ]
