Thats a true RGN (removable goose neck). The front piece is the neck, normally they will have hydraulic powered by a pony money or a manual neck no hydraulic system. The piece on the side are out riggers they stay attached to the trailer, typically a driver will have spare lumber in the center of the deck for when the out riggers are turned out. Out riggers are normal used when hauling farm equipment. But overall that trailer has some major details.

i would recommend cutting a slight hole in the tape on the other side of the box if you're gonna slide it out like that...keeps a vacuum from forming behind the foam as you pull. just for future reference. :P
I've been looking for a Trailer for my Tamiya Knight Hauler and I'm thinking the slight difference in scale probably wouldn't notice with this LowBoy style. Nice to have a tri-axle with dual wheels too, as most other tri-axle trailers only have Super Singles on that look a bit odd on an American type Truck. Thanks for showing, very helpful 👍🏻
This would look ridiculous with a Tamiya truck. Trust me.
This might work with a Tamiya truck. I would make the trailer a bit wider to fit the width of the tractor. This truck set is 1:16th scale, it could work. I say go for it.
Tamiya trucks are 7 inches wide, 1:16 trucks are usually only 5" cab to 5.5 on a bed.
Rc4wd has a nice lowboy trailer that is the correct scale
The trailer pin on this is the same as a tamiya size

You missed in the instruction book the trailer can be raised or lowered . . I seen it when you showed the book briefly .
Why didn't you show the gooseneck moving up and down? I seen that in the instructions and that is why the gooseneck had play in it, and the reason for the remote trailer unhook.

Great video for this truck. There is one feature of the trailer that you didn’t mention. The gooseneck of the trailer is motorized and lowers the front of the trailer to the ground. Maybe update the video to show this feature?

It's a Western Star Generation X and or 49X (either way of calling it);I have a few of those trucks myself in American Truck Simulator; and yes: that is a "day cab" form……

Your load there will take out power lines or an overpass. Generally when moving an excavator the boom is folded down as far as it goes and the bucket is curled up.
That's my pickup line. "I'm gonna pop it out, play with it a little bit, and see what you all are into. " 😂
I'd say its a great hobby entry rig or on a tight budget

The trailer is modeled after a HDG lowboy. Hydraulic Detachable Gooseneck. Finally an equipment trailer modeled after an American trailer. I actually usta weld the same style trailer at Trail King

2:25 seconds the controller features gooseneck up and down controls when detached from the trailer.....thats why there's play in the gooseneck....I assume it moves up and down like the real thing but you didn't show anything about it

Okay, the scale doesn't fit to the regular semis and the looks is slightly toy-like.
BUT:
It's very impressive to look at, has all main functions you can expect from such a model, the transmitter is far more easier to handle than the ones for the MFUs, it gets a lot of power out of this little battery and it's cheap.
Yes, I as a sidekick for rolling in some other RC cars I would use it. To customize it is up to every modeler. I like it somehow.

Next time you unbox something that big, let gravity work for you. Open the end, as you did, then stand the box up and pull it up, leaving the heavy contents on your desk. Easy-peasy.

Great price but like you said the steering sucks so 180 on the servo and some mods oh yeah much much better steering it definitely can hold my 25 pound front loader and no problems great video thanks 👍

I don't think Tamiya parts would fit. Seems to be proprietary. Not that Tamiya parts would help this be any better. Just a really cheap looking toy.
I would say perhaps WPL - their stuff is 1/16 as well, and there are all kinds of upgrade parts available, and they would fit the scale.

Diecast Masters make beautiful shelf queens with no parts support. I have Westerstar RC Dumptruck
I have a few DM 1:50 die cast models that are non RC but have very good detail. I have this same set up but with a KW T880 with lowboy and stingers.

Not to bust your chops but the trailer is called a rgn(removable goose neck) the 3 extensions are called out riggers. The truck is a day cab :) and I pull a similar trailer and have a big John deere tractor on mine right now.
Oh the"hitch" is just called the neck.

RC stuff in good quality has never been cheap..........but 500 plus tax for this seems pretty good...........an adult might want a better one..........but for a dad to buy and play with his kids isn't too crazy of a price tag............Tamiya makes great stuff and has been around for easily 40 years..........nice to be able to get replacement parts...........this truck would probably stay in nice shape if only played with indoors
