That cost is INSANE for how cheaply it's made... Every time you pick it up the whole thing flexes. Smh. The amount that companies extort people anymore is ridiculous.
The size of that trailer is bonkers! I definitely get the price point in relation to hobby grade trucks is okay, but I don't like the toy features on something of this size and total dollar amount. Only 1 drive axle seems like a bad idea, as we saw pretty quickly with how easily it got hung up on easy terrain when it wasn't under load. Engine sounds are an automatic bummer for me and should be left on shelves in the toy aisle with a "Try Me" button. It does look super good going down the road though - can't deny that!
Seems like it needs quite a few upgrades wpl b36 rear axle setup to make it 4wd in the front 2 rear axles add remove the very rear axle and replace it with a steering axle and servo different receiver and remote combo to add another servo to that trailer hitch to make it fully hands free better steering servo for better lock
The hitch is completely electric. Trailer doesn't have legs hence why he had to use his hands to connect it. A regular trailer has legs so if he backs up under a regular trailer it'll work just fine
@@jasonlange8341 what I mean is the piece he had to turn by hand to fully connect the gooseneck to the low boy itself needs a servo so you don't need to turn it by hand the legs on these trailers only get used when the whole trailer is not in use. when loading or unloading the deck sits on the ground
if i would ever get this model i wonder if it. Would handle the 1:16th scale CASE 580 SUPER M or if would break it i think the 580 weights that much if i remember correctly
Is this Western Star & lowboy heavy equipment trailer the same scale as any of the Tamiya semi trucks? If so, i wonder if the lowboy would pull behing any of em??? Would love to have the trailer❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🤠😎😃👍🏻
They are slightly different in scale, but close enough to where it doesn't look too weird. We are planning a video soon with a Tamiya Trailer we have in the shop.
I have the trailer for my Tamiya semi. For the the money and how much i use it. It works perfectly. It even hauls my 10lb tanks. The cost of those other trailers is insane.
I like the scale realism but when you mentioned the price I was a little surprised. You can buy a full hobby grade Tamiya 3-axle tractor unit kit for 350 USD and they are substantially more heavy duty with far superior performance. Of course, you need to build the kit and buy electronics but the end result will be more satisfying.
That's why we wanted to show some other options that are out there. The cheapest Tamiya kit we can get from them is the Volvo FH12 Globetrotter 420 single axle for $327.60 to our customers. Add in their cheapest trailer kit + electronics and you get to around $800. Of course you can easily get lost and end up with a $1500+ rig lol. Much higher quality like you mentioned, but we get a lot of people just looking for a parking lot hauler that's all ready to go. Its a shame Tamiya doesn't make a entry level RTR version yet 😎.
I have that unit and the dump truck. The dump truck is OK, but has poor traction with only one drive axle. But this tractor has a terrible grinding gear sound that I could not resolve, and for some reason the transmitter range is horrible. I lose signal when it’s only 25 feet away. I still have yet to tear it down and trouble shoot the issue. The dump truck has better range, so it may just be an obstructed antenna. Either way, I’m going with Tamiya trucks from now on. I fully regret purchasing this though. I never got the trailer, for $89 I got a much sturdier Bruder trailer with dolly that can hold much more weight.
Looks actually really good and with a bit of handicraft just swap out the chromelook plastic and oversized sign for metal parts to gain some weight on the tractor you'll resolve the traction problem and will even look better!
Got a friend giving me a kw tein steer wrecker imma convert into a rig and rc model. Hope it turns out cause i am beyond clueless on what i would be doing. Lmao
i have the truck. stright out of the box the alignment was way off.. regreted buying it instantly.. its a piece of crap! way way over priced for the quality. trailer lights no longer work. they broke days after use. exhaust stacks have snapped off after one collision. trailer motor hardly works anymore. its one axle drive. with the 3 axles IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN 3 AXLE DRIVE! ITS A PIECE OF GARBAGE! DONT BUY!

Yea everything is cheap and expensive now. Good Ol made in China crap.
Anyone remember as a kid the vintage New Bright r/c tractor trailers that were on a wire with the controller. i had many as a kid
i had the whole Cat equipment line an the farm equipment line up to,
we put 6 volt lantern batterys on the back of the controllers for long run times
lol I do!! It was triggered with a knob on the side.
No def tank? Not DOT compliant
Yeah I remember having two of them. One was a Penzoil tanker and the other was a black western theamed truck.
For this kind of money I would simply convert Bruder MACK to WPL drivetrain... well for fraction of this price :D
That would be a sick build!
@naughtyboyrc ppl do it all the time bro! I 3d printed an entire king hauler lol
Always grateful😊fun❤thankyou for the review

It can support quite a bit of weight. I know it says up to 11lbs, but it can definitely do more. We may have to rig one up and "break it for science".

awesome truck and trailer and can that trailer hook up to a Tamiya truck
Yes it can 👍

Seems to be a nice product but the battery size and no metal seems to really let it down epecially for the price
