- The 1983 Australian GT Championship was a CAMS sanctioned Australian motor racing title for cars complying with Group D regulations for GT cars, with Group B Sports Sedans competing by invitation.
It was the sixth Australian GT Championship. The championship was won by Rusty French, driving a Porsche 935.

The Rusty French Porsche, which he still actually owns, is a Porsche 935/80, the same one Alan Jones drove to the 1982 Australian GT Championship. His team mate Alan Browne is driving the Porsche 935/77 that French also owns and drove in 1982.
The Tony Edmonson Alfetta Chev was built in Adelaide by K&A Engineering, the same mob who 2 years later would produce the Veskanda.
Love the 935K3, shame the Jane Brock Monza didn't make it to tbe grid..

In the Mid 80's they used Meat Loaf, Bat out of Hell as an intro. I'm not sure about this intro though.
