Hey Sandy. Great channel. I’m looking for another tractor. All those things you talk about, antenna, fuel filling, I’m sorry are so insignificant that they really aren’t worth mentioning. I was hoping for some really important insights. But on the positive side Kioti makes a quality tractor and buy your other video there really aren’t any big concerns. Thanks for the video. We’ve had many skidsteers over the years and you can’t keep an antenna on any of them, bobcat, cat new Holland Deere…
I own the same cabbed DK40se in New Hampshire, used about the same as yours. I have not had paint issues and don't miss the arm rests. I have broken the antenna twice, but luckily didn't shatter the cap. Refueling isn't easy, but I don't like the new models low exposed fuel tank any better. I would add two more announamces: 1. Many FEL bolts frequently come loose. 2. I have snapped 2 tlit Hydraulic rods with my a stump bucket. Obviously I am abusing it, but I would love to think something a bit cheaper might fail first. Like maybe a pin. Like the original post I love this tractor. It may be the best money spent after moving into land with a 1/3 mile driveway.
Hi I have an identical tractor the dk50hst with backhoe and have all the same issues I'm 65 and filling diesel is a pain. I snapped off my antenna and installed a new one and made a clamp to hold the mast against the roof. I don't miss the armrests as much as not having cruise control. Oh well otherwise I agree that it's a great tractor. After 200hrs no other problems.
Well it's good to hear that my problems are not just from my poor use haha. How do you like the backhoe? Is it a Kioti brand backhoe? The diesel filling location isn't too bad right now but as I age I'm sure I won't be happy about it in another 10 or 20 years. I hope I will be filling this tractor in that time as that means it's lasted me a while. It's funny that even though my attenna snapped off long ago, the radio still plays perfectly clear.
@@sawingwithsandy Yes a kioti brand backhoe with the Michigan iron hyd thumb. It works great and easy to remove or install. I fabbed up a plate to make the bucket have a smooth lip for finish landscaping and smooth bottom trenches. On my old Kubota tractor backhoe I could remove the teeth and have a smooth ditch bucket. This one the teeth are not completely removable.
I have the kioti nx 55 hydro cab and it’s awesome, has arm rests, antenna is on side of cab below the roof line on the b pillar and flexible rubber antenna, fuel tank next to the step. Paint on the kL6010 loader still sucks though, they are made in the US, go figure. Love it, sounds like it’s time to trade up. Love the vids, from your southern neighbor in upstate New York.
The NX does sounds like a great machine. I was sold on this one as it's hard to find good uses tractors around here and this one was a barely used one and sold from a dealer. Not sure how kioti dealers are spread around your area but around here they are few and far between. Down the road I'll likely need to paint the loader. Its probably flaking off as I type this.
I own a same tractor and I love it. I have own many other make and models. This is the best tractor I ever bought. You should have moved the antenna when you bought it new if you were going in the woods. The fiberglass top can be easily repair. Most tractors ha e the filling cap at the same place. Maybe your getting to old or to fat I'm 60 and not complaining. As for the paint mine is like new and the reason your paint is coming off is probably due to the fact your hitting everything in site. Ah yeah go buy yourself another seat. When you buy you decide what you want just like buying any other vehicle. Power windows, radio or DVD, standard or automatic shift. Just like Johnny Paycheck said take complains and shove it!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for your input Ernie. This video is about 3 years old. Be sure to check out some of my recent videos using this tractor to see what's held up and hasn't. Thanks for watching.
@@Brookside975 that may end up being something you see me using in future episodes. I'll have to see how much it costs here at princess auto (harbor freight for Canadians). If its $8 u.s. it's likely 40 Canadian haha
not bad or big gripes at all! except the paint, that is not cool, but at least it's not a functional thing, directly (eventual rust of course is an issue, but, it's not like your pedals broke off)
That's good to know. Hopefully I will have this model around for some time but in the event that I get the itch for something newer, I'll look forward to seeing the improvements. Thanks for watching and sorry about the late late reply. Some comments made their way into a folder I didn't see so I missed them. Happy Holidays
That’s good to hear about the paint. Since I didn’t own the tractor since new I’m thinking that maybe my tractor was left out in the sun a bit which may have led to some flaking. Guess I’ll never know
Dealer is telling me that i should get the dk47 insteadof the dk 40 because the 40hp will feel underpowered, especially with filled tires. anyone have thoughts on that?
I find the power works well for me and I have filled rear tires. I haul logs up hills and blow snow with a 7.5' snowblower. I think more power is always better but I would say the 40hp works well for me unless I were to start using it for farming where I'd be using ground implements like disks where I may want a few more hp
Most of the time you’re SOL if you buy a Korean Vehicle the fit and finish on their automobiles and their tractors is always sub par. Expect a lot of metal on metal rubbing, wires rubbing, hoses rubbing and breaking, that’s any vehicle made in Korea tractor or not.
Well that's good to know. May look at a new seat with armrests down the road. Wish they'd sell just the armrests that I can bolt to my existing seat

My Deere has a high fill location. I bought Surecan bottom fed fuel cans. It made it easier for my old butt. Your Kioti is beautiful.

@@walterkucharski4790 that's a great idea about the smooth edge. I may have to make something similar. Appreciate the info.
Hey these are all great points! Thanks for sharing with us! Cheers!
Glad to have ya along!
Good honest observations. Im with ya, there's things about every tractor we are not going to like. Enjoyed the video👍

Even the compact John deer is made in India.
The loaders are made by a company in South Carolina.
@david jeffery yeah that's true from what I've been told
@@patrickunionpipefitter6568 I also heard many of the parts on the deeres are now aluminum instead of cast as well.
They do have short antenas with coil springs that will bend and spring back. Good luck Sandy😁
Darn. Wish I knew that before I snapped off my old antenna haha

As for the fuel tank fill location, you can get yourself a battery powered fuel transfer pump from Amazon.
That's a pretty good idea actually
@@sawingwithsandy I love mine. Got mine at Harbor Freight for under $8.00 and it works great!

Hi. What chains are you using? Would you recommend them? Thanks.
I live on the NH Canada border
Trygg fast trac. They are very very good quality and I’d. Buy them again for sure

Mine dk40 is a 2014, my paint is holding up well. With the cab, I can see adding fuel being more difficult than mine (no cab).

Some models of Kioti come std with arm rest and they are an option on other models. Like an earlier comment the new models have addressed your issues.
Yeah it's nice that kioti has addressed the issues I noted. That way I have an excuse to buy a new tractor in a few more years Haha
One think i like about mi kioti is the cab is much bigger than john deer. Jd cabs are way too small. Narower and shorter.
Is that right eh. I never actually sat in a JD cab but I can imagine what your'e saying.
