This was awesome, Jack. Thanks for sharing some knowledge about the RZ with us. Please take care of it, I'm sure not many examples in this condition or better still exist as a whole car anymore.
Love the channel. This pretty much mirrors my 94 Type R build. I'm going to have to hit you up when its time to get the Haltech. Not many people willing to deal with the factory sequentials and a standalone unless its Power FC but I like the idea of a modern standalone with all the extra safety features and tunability. IMO if you are going OEM+, keeping sequential turbo operation is a no brainer.
Love this car man thank you for showing it again! I wish my FD was an RZ but I'm still grateful to have one. I do wanna chat about some things. I kno your petty knowledgeable about the rotary platform and im looking for some info on fuel and a ecu setup but most of all a tuner.
You kind of make me want to fire up my PS2 load up Gran Turismo 4 and stare at my garage for a while..... it's been years but I think I have every color silver white pearl a black I think a green and a couple others...... of course I want to see it in action and what does Jack think about the Bathurst Edition
Jack your most honest TH-camr. I wanna fly out and meet you. We have so much income. Me and my son watch your channel and think your the best. Much love from oregon.
Your thoughts on the RX-8 I like the body style a little bit better than they RX7 seems a little bit bigger and they look awfully sporty and I like the rear suicide doors - 👍 👍 🔧
Mazda wrote those tuners a to make those SPs for homologation purposes. I can see the distinction you are trying to draw but the SP is a production vehicle and is the most valuable, amazing, and collectible FD. Beating factory backed 964 Club Sports is the dry ice cooled icing on the cake.
The SP cars didn’t leave the factory with any of the homologated racing parts. Those parts were added after delivery. Thus they were not production modeled cars, they were sold as SP models by dealers after modifications, to racers.
@@JackCecil my understanding is Mazda had them before being given to dealer and sold publicly to meet homologation. Ofc some were bought by racers. Mazda paid the tuner and sold them as is. If Mazda says they're legit, they are.
@@steveobarnes Jack is correct. The parts were fitted in Australia by the Australian Mazda Motorsports division. They were better than anything Mazda could ever build.
@@steveobarnes oh, and speaking of cool, the team director Allan Horsley formulated a performance edge by supercooling the fuel before it went in the carbon fiber fuel tank. He even used the headlights washer bottle and water pump to spray water on the intercooler using a .5c garden spray nozzle. Even the rear wing was developed right here in Australia that gave the car a massive edge when cornering. The actual Unicorn is the SPII RX-7 It was going to be the follow up to the SP but Mazda Australia canned the FD (My car is the last car sold and registered in Australia). The SPII was dismantled but when a Mazda technician crashed a customers SP RX-7 when it was being serviced, the owner sued Mazda Australia and won. The SPII was rebuilt and subsequently given to the owner.
@@JackCecilI agree they are a homologation special but they weren't only sold to racers and there were some production car versions that were detuned. I don't agree the RZ is rarer or better for that matter. If that's the case then why do SPs sell for more than RZ's? Because there are fewer of them and they are more desirable.
Hey Jack what about the fd bathurst r? This was a rare model that featured adjustable suspension and was supposedly the highest power to weight rx7 ever.
You gotta get a z because they all very some are drifters but you know there’s new ones like Tommy and DJ Oakes you guys all have to go drifting old rudknuckle
I guess the 1993 RZs were the 'rarest' in terms of production in that specific year-model but honestly they're pretty much the same as the earlier and later black RZs. So I personally, wouldn't say it is the rarest.
Production numbers indicate that there were almost 1000 series 6-7 RZs produced (Black RZs). Rarest Production RX7 is definitely the white Series 8 RZ which had 325 produced, followed by the Type RS-R which had 500 produced, then the Type R Bathurst R which had 650 produced.
The most expensive and sought after RX7s in japan are the 1.Spirit R, 2. White Series 8 RZ, 3. Sunburst Yellow Type R Bathurst R (massive price difference between yellow and the other colors lol).
why doesnt it have the 99 spec front bumber? edit: ah thought the rz was only the limited 2000' models in white with red recaro's and other bbs wheels. learn something new.
@@JackCecil do you know much about @chipsmotorsports? Tom was supposed to get an engine from him but it fell through. Seems like the guy has got an insane level of quality to his parts.
Get a feed fd3s like the one that was on hot version/best motoring you'll look good in a RE Amemiya fd3s that will be sick jack, i know you got deep pockets jack. so i know you can afford a pan speed fd3s. I saw one on jdm masters it was lady driven, just like that one that you have..
To me this is the most beautiful car ever made. I love rx7. I’ve had 2 fc and 1 fd. Love them. Love rotorys

You should own and tinker with St205 Celica GT-Four, would be awesome content, plus i’m in search for a rough one:-)
If the RZ is the CecilSpec FD, I’d love to see some CecilSpec AR’s…👀
I have a few. Don’t worry.

Amazing car would love to put a 4 roter twin turbo in it :) iv all ways wanted to get and make one awd
Sp rx7 is rarer
As i explained in the video… the SP was not a factory built car. It was just a modified car for racing in Australia. Dealer modifications don’t count.
Nobody's gonna drool over the El camino? I'd rather have the v8 rumble. Just put a bigger cam in it
