- Kirkee B (a.k.a. Curt Bisquera) and Thomas Lang (a.k.a. The Druminator) bring you "Candyland III". Join them as they tour our jam-packed showroom here at the Workshop in sunny Oxnard, CA. Thomas let's loose his virtuoso style with 10 fresh kits, many of which are new offerings (such as Collector's Series Maple/Mahogany, Performance FinishPly, and PDP American Vintage), and few prototypes we can't talk much about.
It's just over a Half-Hour of DW Bliss, so get comfy, hook up to some good speakers, or plug in your best headphones/earbuds, and enjoy!
We HIGHLY RECOMMEND you watch this in as high a quality as you can stream or stand to buffer (both for sound and video optimization).

I am not a materialist but , If I was wealthy , I would have that one guilty pleasure and it would be to have way too many drum kits,probably 20 or some thing like that.What about you ,how many kits would you have if cash was no object?

All too often I see promotional videos of drum kits in which the drummer is not utilizing the “kit”. The drummer is primarily playing beats that are on the ride/hi-hats, snare and kick. In this video he did the kits justice by playing all the drums so we the viewers can hear and see the real drum kit. Bravo gentlemen and Mr. Lang for a promotional video of drum kits as it should be. It does help that he is an amazing multi genre drummer. Thank You !!

@DrumWorkshopInc It's twisted olive with black fade, and I'm working with two 20" kicks, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18" toms, and matching snare. And it's the most beautiful drum kit I've ever laid eyes on. You guys made it for me last year, I think it might have been the first kit to leave the factory with VLX Plus kicks. Looks aren't all, the sound is unmatched. Thanks for being in the DW family? Thank YOU for making me a part of it!!!!

Well it depends on which kit you are asking about. All heads you see are made by Remo for us. They are a combination of Coated Clear(with the ring), Coated(for toms and snares) and are all options for our kits straight from the factory here.

We recorded the dialog with the camera mic. The drums were recorded with a Zoom mic in the H4N model. We find it is the rawest way to capture the drums in a room setting. Making the listener have the truest experience of actually listening in the room.

Thanks for asking! The Performance Series is not customizable like the Collector's Series. This is what sets the price difference between the 2 series. With the Performance Series you have set sizes and finishes while the Collector's Series you can get any size and finish we offer with different hardware color options. The Performance Series has its own shell technology with the HVX which is not offered for the Collector's making especially unique to itself. Both series are made in our...

For the Collector's Series we only offer round turret style for bass drums and toms. We do offer tube lugs for snares as an option though. Beyond that the lugs are specific to each line of drum.

1. All are shells are 7 ply with no hoops. Edge rings are made of Brass.
2.For toms they are all clear heads with no rings also with snare resonant heads. For the bass drums in this video they are mostly all Vented Glass Black heads while the white Logo heads are described as Coated White.
The actual size for the Performance Series is 16x20. Sorry for the miscue on that. A 16x20 we have noticed has been the most popular size for a 20" bass drum over time so that's why we went with this size for the Performance Series. We hope this can work for you.

Yes you can order the Powder Blue Lacquer Specialty. It might not had made it to the Kitbuilder people just yet but any Lacquer specialty pricing will work for this finish. Hope this helps!
They will be stocked in your country we are sure. As long as your dealer is an authorized DW or PDP dealer they are very capable of stocking the Concept Series or special ordering the Concept Series for you. The pricing of the Concept Series will be similar to our X7, M5 and FS series kit.

I've been using a PDP FS series kit for about 3 years now and I absolutely love it....can't wait to upgrade to a full blown DW kit soon!

@rjproud Great question! Low mic level with the general limiter on. Using the stereo pair and recording on AIF files at 48k and 24 bits. Sounds like a lot but pretty standard. It is a really easy mic to work with. They are also really good for recording writing sessions and rehearsals with your band. Thanks!!
