    Great video! Thank you so much! And very helpful on the tip to hold the 2 buttons to get the errors. I had codes 1451 through 1463. I ran some tests. The fuse was fine. So then I took the unit out and started with replacing the regulator. That worked. The blower worked fine. The blower was not seized so I reused it. So much knowledge on these cars which makes them a good buy for DIY folks. I got the same story, dealer wanted $1400. I paid $98 for that same regulator you have. I saved $1298. Thanks again.

      @MM13916 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PeterZafra fortunately all is dry. A year ago The trunk seal leaked and flooded the rear tire well and shorted the stereo which was causing a parasitic drain on the battery. Thankfully TH-cam saved me on that and dried it out. A month later found more standing water in the recessed floor where the main battery line runs to the front (only knew about it because the car wasn’t locking and had to check the fuses). Replaced the ecu and dried that out. Love learning about this stuff from guys like you and your TH-cam channels. Thank you! Got the blower out and about to order a replacement, super easy to remove.

    Peter hi, great video step by step instructions. Really appreciate you taking the time to show us. My MB is an S430, and my AC Blower isn't blowing. I've replaced the blower, the regulator (bought online, also got a cheap set from the JY that didn't work either). Reset the computer as per another site after replacing the blower. Replaced fuses 33, 4, and 7 as different websites were conflicting - I had extras already so it was no issue. Still nothing - blower isn't blowing. Any ideas my friend?

    So I have the exact same issue, head unit works, fuse is good, blower motor spins when 12V applied. I checked the voltage coming out of head unit to the regulator and got a positive 12V across the thick gauge wire and got 2V to 6V on the smaller gauge wire (to ground) when I ran the fan from lowest to highest setting. Output from the regulator was 0. Output from a replacement new regulator was 0. Can you tell tell me what the full input range was to the regulator depending on fan setting? My guess is that the head unit isn't putting out a high enough control voltage to the MOSFET. Also, I've got an S600 "AMG" (2005) with the rear control and my harness only had three wires, just like yours. I should add that the rear control works just fine, so in my case, I believe there is an additional MOSFET regulator in the center console. Lastly it also intermittent. Mostly non-functional, but occasionally it will come on. Oh and ZERO diagnostic codes in the HVAC computer. - UPDATE: I found a shop manual page and the correct output voltage from the head unit ranges from 0-6V providing a 0-12V regulated output, so at least the head unit seems ok.

      @@PeterZafra thanks for the tip. I checked the fuse from the top (plastic window just fell out) and the metal looked like it was heat stressed, but the fuse itself was wedged in there pretty good and I didn't want to break it taking it out. • @PeterZafra
      @PeterZafra  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. Definitely could be a big cause. Your regulator could have an open circuit causing the blower not to shut off. Have it diagnosed. It should be the issue.

    • @PeterZafra
      @PeterZafra  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry for the late reply. Wow that's a lot but sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet to find out what's really going on but I do have a feeling that it's your module because one of the wires that connects to it is a live 12 volt coming from the fuse box. If it stays on open circuit, then it will drain your battery.

    I have just diagnosed my car and I am not getting any power to the din connector that comes from the command unit. Could the climate control module be faulty? Why would the connector be dead? Any help would be appreciated.

    • @PeterZafra
      @PeterZafra  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Benny Palma the din from the center console that connects to the regulator? It's suppose to register around 4 plus volts. It's more of a relayed power to signal the regulator to feed the motor.

    • @eyeswideshut7354
      @eyeswideshut7354 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When I went in to test it I didn't get any readings. When you probe this unit with the multimeter are you supposed to connect the black lead to the brown ground wire and the red lead to the red/yellow wire to test for power? I think I may have tested wrong and didn't get any power from the din.

    • @PeterZafra
      @PeterZafra  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Benny Palma yes. Brown is a ground. red yellow is a live wire. It could read 12 volts but it could have low current causing no power to the blower.

    Hi dear, I have a 2004 CL500, how do I reset the AC system, I seen that red light is lit on the AC button?

    • @PeterZafra
      @PeterZafra  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      When the red light is on, that means the ac is off. If you click that button, the ac button red light should go away. If it's flashing, then there's a problem with your ac. Hope that helps.

    Mine works when it wants to work like it will work one week and the next it won’t work can you explain this I had a error code 1000 what is that

    • @PeterZafra
      @PeterZafra  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure what error code 1000 is but you might want to check your fuse for that regulator. I actually made a video on it as well. Mine was melted so at times it worked and at times it didn't. I've dealt with this one too mant times. Hope you get it fixed. Cheers

    • @PeterZafra
      @PeterZafra  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could also have a bad regulator which is what this video is but check the fuse and make sure it isn't melted.

    • @PeterZafra

      Im not sure what that would be. An error usually means that its not abke to read the actual error.

    Thanks for the great video. My blower comes on and off intermittently. I know the compressor is working because I can feel the cool air (static) when I put my hand on the vent. Its just the blower is not throwing that cool air into the cabin. Is it safe to say that it is the regulator or blower?

    • @PeterZafra
      @PeterZafra  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It could be your regulator. Try to leave the fan on the second level and see if it still comes out intermittently. If it does, it might be the regulator. You also might want to watch my other video (link in description regarding melted fuse). That became an issue for mine as well. Let me know how it goes cheers.

    • @bhasins
      @bhasins 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Since the blower does come on (80% of the time), is it safe to assume that the the fuse is good? I mean if the fuse was bad, the blower would never come on. Is that correct?

    • @RCChoppercx2
      @RCChoppercx2 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bhasins mine was doing the same as yours and now doesn't come on at all. I replaced regulator and climate control and still doesn't work. Did you fix yours?

    • @bhasins
      @bhasins 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@RCChoppercx2 I soon realized that if I tapped the blower unit really hard, it would come back on. That told me that it was definitely the blower motor. I took it out and cleaned it with compressed air. It started to work but then it started to crap out again after a week. I just ordered an aftermarket blower from eBay and it's been working fine ever since. If you have replaced the regulator and controls, the blower is the only thing left which could be bad. Go ahead and change it out. It's not super expensive $80-90 from eBay. Good luck!

    • @RCChoppercx2
      @RCChoppercx2 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sumit Bhasin I'm not getting power coming from the connection with the 3 wires that plugs into regulator. However I do get power out of the back of climate control unit... I have hooked a 12 volt source to the blower motor and it comes on. I think the issue is in between climate control an regulator. Haven't had a chance to try to test the 0hms.

      hi. sorry for the late reply. the regulator Shouldn't be getting hot. I just had a fail on mine and I found that my fuse was the problem. it had melted and caused my regulator to stop working properly due to high resistance. check fuse 33 located on the passenger side of the engine bay. 40 amp orange fuse. good luck.
